The "Re-introduction" of African Cheetah in India - A rhetoric or bringing back India's lost glory?
Cheetahs have been declared extinct in the Indian Subcontinent the year we got our independence. Yes, the fastest land predator on earth was once seen in India. Not only was it seen, it was a unique subspecies altogether. In a historic nod, India has decided to bring back its "lost glory" by "reintroducing" African Cheetahs into the grasslands of India. But is it a sound decision? Is it reintroduction or a vanity project? Will it run into more problems than help make India more biodiverse than it already is? Let's find out.

Our planet being almost on the verge of experiencing its sixth major mass extinction, the most recent one recorded to be 65 million years ago taking out the dinosaurs, it is now more than important for us humans to conserve our nature and natural resources as much as we can. If extinction is a natural process that goes on even in the absence of humans, why should we stop it?
One answer is that species are now going extinct far faster than they used to. The extinction rate has increased a hundredfold over the last century, and we seem to be to blame. What can be done is saving and spreading awareness about the conservation of our critically endangered species.
Today, our host will walk you through wildlife rescue which not only helps to save the injured or orphaned animal with minimum survival rate in the wild and extending their life but also how can that be helpful in conservation.

Everyone wants to look and feel just a bit expensive, EXPENSIVISH we want the feeling of luxury without paying the full price and that's where fast fashion found its market. We as humans have Aced the method of capitalizing even the basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter where it's no longer just a need but somehow reflects your status in society. Even though the legacy brands like Versace, Louis Vuitton are keeping themselves in check a few fast fashion brands that basically sell their knockoffs are having a negative impact on the environment as well as human rights. Should fast fashion brands like Zara & H&M be allowed to continue the way they function?
And is there anything else that can be done?
A few sustainable brands to check out

What is Sustainable Living? - A message from fellow humans
-Sustainable living is not expensive if done right, in fact, ends up saving a lot of money. You don't need to go out of your way to be sustainable, just do how much you can because there will always be someone to tell you that you aren't doing enough. Progress with your own speed but try and live as sustainable as possible because it is our duty towards the planet we live on. Make sustainable living cool.
-Shop locally from small businesses. Find methods to incorporate indigenous practices of sustainable packaging such as the use of leaves stitched into boxes, etc. Keep checking the government policies being passed which have a major effect on our environment. Give your input if possible or at least spread awareness.
-The earth is not only for US. We have the responsibility to save our earth. We can't change our present bad situation. But our small habits can make a big difference. Start living a sustainable lifestyle through fashion and more, without causing any destructions to our environment.
-I think just spreading awareness about sustainable living is not enough. When you tell people about how their choices or actions affect them as well as nature as a whole, that's when they would realize how important this is.
-If we don't try to better our surroundings today then, when? It's high time we humans wake and try to do something useful for not only ourselves but the forthcoming generations as well.
-Be a little more aware and start with baby steps for a sustainable lifestyle. You live in this world too. Try to become more responsible and encourage others to do the same too.
-We need to adopt sustainable living if we want to provide a life and these same pleasures to future generations.
-Maybe learn how to make one's own daily use products, since they are not (or less) polluting and also good for one's health. Ongoing vegan. Zero waste periods
-Start it at home, start small, share with your parents or children about single-use plastic or switching off electronics when not in use.
-We are the only animals that are destroying our own habitats. The Earth needs us just this once, why can't we be there for it too!
-As humans we have always had greed for achievements, sustainable lifestyle is the material for which we must be greedier than ever!
-How beautiful life can be led while being a minimalist.
-Make others aware of pollution and pollutants.
-Start small. You can't make drastic changes

'Religion' is a big word, it can bring people together to create the most beautiful moments and yet it can destroy unlike anything. It plays different roles in all our life, it influences to bring out the best and the worst in us.
But as Religion is to Us, We are to Nature. We have the power as a species to conserve it or to destroy it.
So in today's episode we will talk whether religion influences us and can it determine our views towards nature over generations?

In recent times, with people having more time on their hands as well as a phone in their hands, everyday we hear something new. Be it trends or distress among the people. Since the beginning of the pandemic, when almost all the works were stopped, the MoEFCC continued its work tirelessly, giving clearances for projects for which
people cannot show objection. One of the iconic ones was the EIA Draft 2020. But, this hasn't stopped the ministry and is still continuing.
Recently, two protected and Eco-sensitive areas are under the radar of destructive development. The so called 'development' will not only endanger the lives of the wildlife but also the indigenous and local people who entirely depend on these ecosystems to survive.
In today's episode we will talk about the issues in Uttarakhand and Goa and what is happening there.

Every day the earth is facing a new crisis and time is ticking. Soon humans won't be able to keep up with the changing phase, unless we start to view things differently. It's time we recognize these threats and take the necessary steps to manage issues like the proliferation of invasive species, disappearing indigenous knowledge, extinction of species and many more. We need to start acknowledging the mistakes we did as a species and broaden our knowledge to understand the effects of this problem we created. We can still try to adopt sustainable practices before it's too late. In this episode and many more like this we try to create the awareness among our listeners to help you make this change.

When we think about environmental conservation, the first thing that comes to our mind is wildlife. But this is an incomplete picture without the involvement of associated people, especially indigenous tribes. They are one with the biodiversity of India and we need to gain more knowledge about their involvement and sustainable cultures. This is a small step, more like an introduction to their impact and importance on the Indian forests. Stay tuned for many more stories about indigenous tribes in more detail in the upcoming podcasts.
