It’s almost Halloween 2020; what better way to celebrate than with a spooky ghost story! Sit back and enjoy while I tell you a tale about love, tragedy , fire , feuds and dangerous secret waves. This is a story based on actual events. I blended them together with a dream that I had and rumors that were explained to me from first hand accounts. This episode is experimental, so hopefully you can appreciate my acting and singing! Please rate and review this podcast. An eight hundred year old odyssey, that echos into our present day, resonating themes of destiny, tragedy, lust, murder, ritual, rebellion and revenge.
Explore the ancient martial art of pencak silat which harnesses inner power and perpetuates the dreams of millions of Indonesians.
Allow yourself to consider surfing as a martial art and imagine a scenario where common men transcend social hierarchy and permanently alter an historical timeline.
Special thanks to Ginger for helping me write a tricky paragraph.

We are all the protagonists of our own stories. Although I am no one’s hero, most people enjoy an origin tale. Listen as I walk you down a path littered with surfing obsession, heavy metal music, satanic panic, Christian conversions, missionary boot camp, Egypt, Israel , Mossad Israeli secret agents, MK Ultra mind control, Fundamentalist Indonesian Christian militants, Point Loma Nazarene University, beach brawls, Theosophy, the ghost of Edgar Cayce, Atlantis, the Nephilim, 911 and magic mushrooms. This episode’s original release date was April 1, 2021

Dr. Kary Banks Mullis was a fascinating and complicated man. After winning a Nobel Prize in 1993 the first thing he did was go surfing. His discovery has been called the most important in the last century and it has been used to exonerate falsely accused men on death row; and most recently we have all been faced with being tested by a product of his method. His mysterious death in 2019 has led some people to believe that there is more to the story. In this episode I’ll tell you the story of an extraordinary maverick that’s been called among other things, a Hunter S. Thomson in a lab coat. In this episode I'll tell you the origin story of surfing at Nias Island's Lagundri Bay. 3 Australian surfers made the discovery of a wave that has become as sacred to surfers, as Mecca is to Muslims. Even though Christianity had spread throughout the island since the early 1900's, There was still an undercurrent of evil flowing just beneath the surface. Written, narrated, and produced by Phil Goodrich
