We're wrapping up seasons 2 and 3 by once again chatting with Executive Producer and Showrunner Anthony Carbone! We discuss Netflix Synergy, Lava Fluid Dynamics, and our future an insurance company specializing in Floor is Lava-based claims.

This week we're joined by the inimitable Stad St. Fleur to discuss the final episode of Season 3! Stad brings his challenge producer flair to the show as we discuss the finer points of the episode, including slippery starts, creative uses of a teeter-totter, and always saying “yes, and” to the lava.
We'll be back in 2 weeks with a Q&A with Executive Producer and Showrunner Anthony Carbone, so email lavaandfloor@gmail with any questions you might have!!

This week we're joined by Justin McElroy in the SPOOKY (kind of) ATTIC! We had a heck of an episode to review, and we discussed everything from extremely detailed mermaid backstories, to the return of Rutledge's roast beef shirt, to the importance of taking a memento mori moment mid-run. It's all about perspective, y'all.

This week on the podcast Caleb Cleveland joins us for the return to THE GARAGE, where we dip our toes into spooky season with stories of the volcano's previous life, the curse of the final wagon, and basically all of the contestants falling to their fiery doom only to return as zombies to compete for glory. And some of them were really FAST zombies.

This week we're joined by Sean Caldwell for the return to the KIDS ROOM! It was hard not to just talk about Orange Cassidy the entire time, if we're being honest. We hope he'll adopt us someday.

This is huge, guys. Brooke Breit joins us for the first episode of Season 3, and with her help we've blown the top off this whole thing, from a widely rumored (solely by us) missing episode to “analysts” closely watching Rutledge Wood. You may think it’s just wild speculation, but to us it’s just Podcast Science.

For our mid-season finale, we're joined by Laura Swisher to watch various influencers take on THE GAME ROOM. Teams of pretty bois, tiktok teens, and circle celebs faced off (or at least tried to) and we had our priorities straight for discussing the important parts: the lava viscosity and team footwear.
This is the last episode until the second half of season two drops! Don't unsubscribe in your podcatchers, and keep an eye on @lavaandfloor on Twitter for updates!

This week we're joined by resident science expert Ceri Riley to discuss the KID'S BEDROOM! The players flew through the air with the greatest of ease... unless they're the ones who fly on trapeze. We discuss hubris, screams, and who's the TRUE host of Floor is Lava: Rutledge or the man behind the mo-cap?

On this episode, we’re headed to the Haunted Attic with ghost of podcast episode past Tom Dyke, last seen starring in our Floor Is Lava RPG. We go deep on diabolical chandeliers, crush on the muscles of people who could crush us, and debate volcano symmetry.

This week the wonderful Morgan Peters joins us to discuss THE GAME ROOM episode of Floor is Lava, featuring teams of pretty serious athletes doing somewhat lackluster disco moves. We also workshop some names for the volcano, if only to stop Amanda from calling it an Aggro-Crag.

In our first episode of season two, we're joined by Ryan DiGiorgi to discuss the exciting and nearly-perfect updates that have been made to Floor is Lava. Rutledge is in the room, he has a costume, and if we start campaigning now the show will have more episodes than Man Vs. Bee.

The trailer for Floor is Lava Season Two has dropped, and that can only mean one thing: we're back and ready to talk about the most insignificant details we noticed, from game room sets to Lamorne Morris and his reported love for turtles.

In a season finale celebration, we're joined by Tom Dyke and Kevin Budnik to play our hand-crafted, artisanal one-sheet RPG based on Floor is Lava. Anne is our Rutledge Wood (RW), building a course and controlling the lava canons making our path treacherous as we traverse the SMOKEHOUSE. With... a... laundry machine? Our characters (Alexis, Brad, and Berry) will learn the power of teamwork, but at what cost. The game is going to be available on Anne's itch.io page soon: https://adarkly.itch.io/
Thank you for going on this journey with us, and hopefully a second season is announced soon. In the meantime, you can keep up with Anne at @house_of_darkly and Amanda at @AmandaTheHerder.

We've got one more trick up our sleeve before putting down our microphones to wait for Season 2. The ever-brilliant Anne whipped up a goofy one-sheet RPG for Floor is Lava, and next week we're going to play the game with some friends as one last hurrah for season one of All's Fair in Lava and Floor. Be sure to come back and check it out!

We've reached the end of Season 1 of Floor is Lava, but now we're ready to delve deep into the show's core with a very special, very qualified guest: showrunner Anthony Carbone! Join us as we ask everyone's burning questions about lava science, running rhino themes, and more!

It's time for us to talk about the Floor is Lava SEASON FINALE! We venture into The Study: Level 2 with our friend Caylie Sadin. We discussed pretty bros, the power of teamwork, and our jealousy of the SD Babes' selfie game. We also wax poetic about Rutledge Wood's romantic arc with this house and its lava. Personally, I think the lava is SUCH a Darcy.
This was the final episode of Floor is Lava, but we have a special episode for you next week that we think you'll find VERY INTERESTING, so keep an eye out!

This week we have a very special episode, because our guests are two of the CONTENSTANTS from The Bedroom: Level 2!!! "The Basketballers" Janine Hogan and Alyssa Sabo came to tell us some fun behind the scenes info, but mostly we just chat about how scary it is to be surrounded by lava while trying to do an obstacle course. Especially when your opponents are literal rock climbers who hang off of walls for fun.

We're on the second level of the basement (just roll with it) and chatting with Laser Malena-Webber about some good bros, some good friends, and our first ever successful interaction with the pyramid! We've got lots of recommendations for other good wholesome content for you to consume, like Magic Mike XXL. No, we're not kidding. Go watch it.

It's time to head back to the PLANETARIUM! This week we're joined by friend and game show challenge producer Stad St. Fleur to discuss supportive siblings, gregarious gamers, and boisterous Bostonians. In the end we spend most of our time chatting about game show design, and also just how great those Mama's Boys were back in episode 3.
We're still asking for clips of kids talking about the Floor is Lava! If there's a kid in your life with a lot of HOT TAKES send them to us at lavaandfloor (at) gmail.com for an upcoming special episode!

For episode six Floor is Lava returns to the KITCHEN, and we're joined by Sam Schultz to discuss an adorable Australian and wife guys in disguise. Sam brings us his reboot pitch for Floor is Lava, which includes Tim Curry, charred bones, and the spectral forms of your fallen teammates. But like... in a fun way.
