    Methods of Applications as Mentioned in the Podcast:

    1. Steam Inhalations: 1 drop of essential oil in a bowl of steamy hot water, 2-3 times/day, 5 min (note: I varied the oils with each inhalation)

    Spike Lavender (Lavendula latifolia), Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis ct. camphor), Eucalyptus Dives (all three oils are mucolytic, expectorant)Tea Tree (decongestant, anti-infectious, expectorant)

    2. Nightly Chest Rub with Jojoba Oil at a 3% dilution (15 drops to 1 oz ounce of Jojoba) (varying the oils I use)

    Spike Lavender (mucolytic, expectorant, and I love the smell)Balsam Copaiba (anti-inflammatory, calming and I find the aroma comforting)Black Pepper, Ginger (warming)Balsam Fir (strong antimicrobial, dries mucous, calming for a spastic cough)Thyme ct. linalol (immune system support)Basil ct linalol (antispasmodic for cough)

    3. Pre-Bedtime Bath (10-20 drops in the tub right before I stepped in then soak for 30 minutes breathing in the steam)

    2 Cups of Epsom Salts (to detox from the prescription meds)I rotated the essential oils mentioned above.

    Lemon Mint Cleaning Scrub Recipe
    Ingredients

    2 C. baking soda4 Teaspoons Peppermint Castile Soap 1 Teaspoon White Vinegar (you can find in any supermarket)40 drops of Lemon Essential Oil

    Instructions:
    Mix and store in a sealed wide-mouth container. The shelf life for this DIY cleaning scrub is about two years. If the scrub is left unused for a while, it may dry out. If this happens, the fix is easy! Just add a little white vinegar or a squirt of the Castile liquid soap and stir. It will be good as new!

    Ingredients:

    4 drops of Black Pepper Essential Oil (Piper nigrum)3 drops of Spike Lavender Essential Oil (Lavandula latifolia)3 drops of Clove Bud Essential Oil (Syzygium aromaticum; synonym: Eugenia cariophylata)3 drops of Ginger Essential Oil (Zingiber officiale)2 drops of German Chamomile Essential Oil (Matricaria chamomilla)1 fl oz/30 mL of Trauma Oil1 fl oz/30 ml PET plastic flip top bottle

    Directions:

    Add the essential oils to the flip-top bottleAdd the Trauma oilClose the cap and shake gently to completely blend the essential oils into the Trauma oilMassage into the side affected by sciatica including lower back, buttock and down the leg. Apply to the affected area as needed.
