Lara Nuer is the Co-Founder, Lead Facilitator, Senior Executive Coach and Culture Change Partner at Learning as Leadership, a decades-old leadership development and culture change firm in the San Francisco Bay Area. Steeped in LaLâs proprietary methodology, Lara has been an instrumental leader of the core team of designers, facilitators, and coaches for 30 years.
When Lara was 14 her mother, Claire, was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given 3 months to live. Lara and her father, Sam, became Clairesâ copilots on her quest for healing. While still battling cancer -- Claireâs lifeâs work was born: to give people the tools to discover self-awareness. Claire and Sam created workshops to help others to bring their best selves to their projects and their relationships. âDonât wait until you have a few months to live to work on yourself!â was her motto. Today, Lara continues to carry on her motherâs legacy. -

As a founder of Portmanteau Home, she combines her design experiences across industries ranging from graphic design, hospitality design to resort planning, to advocate for creating homes that are more than just beautiful; a home should be a space that reflects one’s history and heritage. Sunny hopes to bring the idea of modern multicultural home decor into the mainstream and provide visual affirmations to the complex cultural identities of mixed-race individuals. Sunny studied psychology at Yale University and holds a Master of Architecture from GSD, Harvard University.
