I went into this one expecting a really bad movie. While I was not entirely wrong, I did find myself getting sucked into it more than I expected, and Dennis Rodman was actually fun to watch. Listen while I try to figure out what's going on, navigate the plot holess, and discover that I don't hate it.

Continuing in the spirit of really great, low budget movies, I bring you Leprechaun 4: In Space! Yes, I was as surprised as you are, although, to be fair to the franchise, this was my first Leprechaun movie. The rest might be as enjoyable. I guess there’s only one way to find out.

I needed a great movie, and this did not disappoint. Within ten minutes I knew it was going to make my top five vampire movies list. It has the perfect blend of campy/gory/jumpy moments, the special effects are great, and the acting is spot on. So listen as I get mad at Matt, get really excited about Anthony Head, and just overall enjoy myself.

This movie was hard for a number of reasons. First of all, what the hell did I watch?! Second of all, it was recommended by a dear friend who passed away a year ago. I had actually recorded this episode right before he died, and I didn't listen to it until I edited it for this post. So that was difficult. I also did not get the Neverending Story vibe I was promised. There were a lot of "what the hell is going on" moments though.

To give you an idea of how bad this movie is, I watched it in the middle of October in 2023. That's how much I dreaded listening to the recording. It is on par with The Room or Bloodrayne for being a terrible movie, and I think the 19% on Rotten Tomatoes is actually very generous.
I will never watch this again, and if you want to be spared, just listen to this episode. Trust me.

Hey, once a month is better than nothing, right? I cannot express how much I love this movie. If you haven't seen it, then you definitely need to fix that. It's the perfect blend of humor, gore, ick, and lovable and hatable characters. Listen while I get heavily invested and yell at the screen-- a lot.
-
Welcome back! Again. I had a rough time mentally the last few months, and I did not handle it well, so here we are, back logged once more. I did decide to stop pressuring myself though. It would be nice to stick to a schedule, but if I can't, then I can't.
I enjoyed this version of Mortal Kombat. To be honest, I also really enjoyed the one that came out in the 90's. The first one. The second one should be buried, which means, of course, it's going to be an episode as soon as I can trick someone into watching it with me.
-
This epitomizes "so bad it's good". You have to watch this if you love over the top ridiculousness that doesn't even try to come off as realistic. Listen as I harp on the complete lack of continuity and just really enjoy myself.
-
Yes, I know, I forgot to schedule the episode. Sorry! I'm trying this new thing called a "calendar" and to help me get better. Listen as I enjoy this B movie set in Florida and get into the campiness, craziness, and yell at the screen.
-
Everyone who had to listen to me go on and on about how much I loved Killer Piñata knows that I was beyond excited when writer and director Stephen Tramontana let Erin and me screen Bride of the Killer Piñata for the podcast.
This is so good! The campiness, gore, humor, and dark twist are perfectly balanced, and the acting, makeup, music, and special effects are so good-- especially for a low budget film. You need to see this when it comes out.
-
This mash up of Top Gun and the first Independence Day is brought to you by a disgruntled podcaster who had to rent the movie twice because it ran out before I finished watching the first time.
Listen as I groan and complain about this 2 hour long movie that could have been a much more enjoyable hour and a half tops, try to figure out plot holes, and just generally do not enjoy myself.
-
Hello! Welcome back to my podcast in which I promise not to take a hiatus like that again without a very good reason! Not that I didn't have one. I just didn't mean for it to last so long.
Listen as I cringe through terrible dialogue, try to make sense of scenes that don't make sense, and continue to appreciate Burt Gummer.
-
Well. I had to do it sometime. The things I do for my listeners... I made Alicia watch this with me since we were both stuck at home with covid, and now I feel vindicated for sitting through the Twilight movies for her. Listen as we try to figure out the really bad editing and over exposure in the only bootleg copy we were able to find (baffled that no one wants to stream this cinematic gem) and she gets really mad and starts calling everyone by the wrong names.

This should wrap up the NBA players Hollywood extravaganza, unless I missed someone. That's possible. I started trying to block movies out of my awareness right around this time. The late 90's were not kind to viewers.
Listen as I get annoyed. A lot. But I still kind of have fun with it. And notice that I actually scheduled this episode like I'm supposed to!
-
Every realize you forgot to do something? That was me forgetting to schedule this episode. Then I did all of the social media posts and still didn't make it live.
Anyway, I know it's a short one, but you can still listen to me actually enjoy the movie this time. If you're only going to watch one Space Jam movie, make it this one.
-
I know, this is two weeks late. One day I'll be able to get back on schedule. One day...
I actually wound up liking this movie more than I thought I would. I wouldn't rush out to own it or watch it again any time soon, but it wasn't a really bad movie. The acting was decent, and the special effects were good. The plot was predictable, and there were definite holes, but I mean, it was a direct to TV movie. It wasn't written to be the movie of the year.
Listen along with me and enjoy!

If you listen because you like hearing me take apart bad movies, then this episode is not for you. If you like listening to me lose my mind, get wildly invested, and start yelling at the screen, then you're in for a treat! This is probably my favorite solo episode.
This movie is so good, and I think everyone should see it at least once. It's a perfect blend of horror, thrill, comedic timing without being funny, intelligence, and the reality of unintentional racism without being political.

This was recommended by my friend Izze when we were in the middle of an insane amount of rain last year, I think. It's just a great, mindless, predictable heist/natural disaster movie with quippy banter and great pyrotechnics. The recording is not the best in the world because I was in isolation and had to record from my bedroom, which has a lot of random background noise, but I hope you enjoy it!
