Join Ian in conversation with Dean P.R. Buswell, author of the Urban Fantasy novel, The Order of Elysium.
Dean was born in Perth, Western Australia. Growing up in the southern suburbs of Rockingham he cultivated a small but close group of friends who shared his love for gaming, reading, and eventually writing. For as long he could remember, Dean has always loved the idea of writing a book, often writing fan fictions that never got past five chapters, or original ideas that never got past one.
Eventually one stuck, and what was originally a half-formed concept he came up with for him and his friends to play around with, evolved into an ongoing project that would go on to see the light of day as his first book, The Order of Elysium. Influenced by Nordic and many other myths and legends, Dean has woven these into a stunning lore of his own.

Join Ian Hooper in discussion with Lee Gaitan, a contributor to the Book Reality anthology, Forgiveness is the Hardest Thing.
In 2020, US-based author, Rica Keenum, suggested the possibility of an anthology based on the topic of Forgiveness. As the world ground to a halt under the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic the idea took a back seat, but in 2021, during the prolonged lockdowns, twenty-one women from across four continents were invited to write about their experiences of forgiveness through the medium of poetry or prose, fiction or non-fiction. The result is an anthology that lays bare the shared need to forgive or to be forgiven. Featuring the writing of multiple-award winning authors, hailing from Las Vegas to Florida, from South Africa to Northern Ireland and from near Perth in Scotland to near Perth in Western Australia, Forgiveness is the Hardest Thing is an inspiring collection to draw from when you too are wondering, how can I forgive?.
One of the authors who submitted a piece for the anthology was, Lee Gaitan. An award-winning author of four books, including the Amazon #1 Bestseller My Pineapples Went to Houston, First Edition, and Lite Whines and Laughter, which garnered three international book awards and for which she was named a First Place Winner for Georgia Independent Author of the Year. She has authored chapters in several bestselling books and award-winning anthologies. Her work has been featured on The Huffington Post, Erma Bombeck Humor Writers’ Workshop, The Good Men Project, Mothers Always Write, Enchanted Conversations, and Bella Grace among others. Her blog entries have earned a first-place win and honorable mention from the National Society of Newspaper Columnists, and she is a winner of the Nickie’s Prize Writing Competition. Her 2021 release, My Pineapples Went to Houston, Second Edition, has already won two awards.

The latest in our Interviews with Authors series and this time, the remarkable Josh Barry - Josh is a freelance writer for the screen, stage and page from East Cowes on the Isle of Wight. He graduated from Bournemouth University in 2010 with a MA in Writing for the Media, which was preceded by a BA in Scriptwriting for Film and Television. While he has lived with the physical limitations of Athetoid Cerebral Palsy since birth, Barry’s razor-sharp wit and inimitable way with words has seen him carve out a rich and eclectic media career over the past decade.
Whether he’s producing radio documentaries and screenplays about the enchanting world of Light Entertainment, podcasting with industry icons like Jimmy Tarbuck, Barry Cryer, and Ben Elton, or authoring books like this one, Barry has consistently shown that a disability is no match for bucket loads of passion and even more talent. However, while the bright lights of showbiz may be calling, Barry remains happiest when he’s back home, in the company of friends and family, enjoying a leisurely summer evening’s stroll along the Cowes' seafront. You can also find Josh’s autobiography “Adapted” for sale online or by order from all good bookstores.

Season 2 of our Book Realities series of interviews with independent authors, where we discuss their books, their writing methods and what inspired them to be writers in the first place.
An accomplished classical singer, Robert C Littlewood was born in Catford in the Borough of Lewisham, London. He emigrated to Australia with his family arriving in 1964 initially in Perth, Western Australia. He went on to work in many different jobs before completing a Bachelor of Education and going on to be a Primary School teacher. After 15 years in the classroom he left to become a consultant in industrial relations and HR management.
In his singing career, Robert was a chorus member and soloist in the 1990’s with the West Australian Opera Company subsequently being billed as one of WA’s leading operatic tenors. He still maintains an interest in singing and performs on the amateur stage now in his adopted home of Bunbury, Western Australia where he lives with his wife Marilyn.
With a deep and abiding love for the genres of science fiction and fantasy, he decided, like one of his literary heroes, CS Lewis, that he wanted to write the kind of novel he would like to read himself. Hiving completed the first two books, Deviance and Convergence in ‘The Balance Wars’ trilogy, he is currently working on Book 3 Equilibrium.

Season 2 of our Book Realities series of interviews with independent authors, where we discuss their books, their writing methods and what inspired them to be writers in the first place.
Barbara Ann Quinlan was, by her own admission, the archetype "wild child" in her teens and early adulthood. Romantically linked to Zohar Argov, widely known in Israel as 'The king of Mizrahi music', she also rubbed shoulders with Elizabeth Taylor, Rod Steiger and many more of Hollywood's elite.
An actress, trained by world-famous theater director, Jerzy Grotowski, at his Theater Laboratory in Wroclaw, Poland, Barbara also studied Kathakali, No and Kabuki Theater, ancient Chinese resonator techniques for the voice, Thai Chi and Chi Gong, among countless other exercises aimed at breaking down one’s resistances in order to develop the actor as an uberman,
After many years studying Chi Gong, she became a Chi Master and for the next 20 years had a successful career as a massage therapist, uniquely incorporating Chi Gong to do energy healing.
Having lived in Paris, she has traveled extensively including long stays in Israel, (holding dual citizenship with Israel and the United States).
With a life story as remarkable as hers, there's a good reason it took three volumes to document it. The Love Seeker trilogy is a tour de force of a force of nature.
