With news breaking as the show was being published last week that J.T. Miller would be taking an indefinite leave from the Vancouver Canucks, Anna & Chris discuss how his absence has impacted the team over the past two games and who (coughcoughPeteycough) has to step up. They also discuss the merits of having some good DPS on your team, if the Marcus Pettersson is the answer to all blue line woes, and how they expect the team to perform as they remain out on the road.
-
Over the past two weeks the Vancouver Canucks have shown a few things. They can win on the road. They can lose at home. Their coach can apologize to the fans. They can embrace inconsistency like no other. Anna & Chris discuss all of things and more as they try and determine what it all means.

Puuttuva jakso?

In a week where the Canucks grab 3 points out of a possible 6, it's the game where they grabbed none that bothered Anna & Chris the most. The pair chat about the forward lines getting sorted, why they still worry about the blue line, and if Lankinen is the guy we should trust moving forward.
-
In a quiet week on the ice for the Vancouver Canucks, the talk got very loud about locker room rifts and an underperforming star. Yet all that said, the Canucks now have four wins in a row and the stars are shining. So are Anna & Chris with a new intro, a return to the "rails," and so much more.
-
With a couple weeks of regular season hockey under their belt, Anna & Chris provide a "very reasonable & balanced assessment" of their play, what they need to work out to see more success, and wonder if Lankinen has fully transformed into Blankinen.
Yeah... it's that kind of episode.
-
Although the 2024-25 NHL Season starts this week, Patrik Allvin has been busy cooking up a few tidy bits of business in the Vancouver Canucks kitchen. Anna & Chris discuss the moves, guess at who may come (back) on the waiver wire, and chat about the chemistry we've seen from a few of the players - new & old - on the roster.
-
The Vancouver Canucks opened and closed training camp in the time since we last recorded an episode, and begin their preseason slate of games starting tomorrow night. Anna & Chris react to what they've seen from camp, if they believe the Canucks did well in signing Kevin Lankinen, and whether or not a name is a good name.
-
The Young Stars tournament is underway, the Vancouver Canucks have hit the course in the Jake Milford Golf Tournament, a goaltender will be in camp on PTO, and Anna calls Chris the enemy. If that episode rundown doesn't hit all the high notes, we're not sure what will.
-
With less than two weeks to go before the start of training camp, Anna & Chris react to the "troubles" in the crease and wonder why the Vancouver Canucks can't have nice things. They also share three questions they have going into camp and do their best to answer each of them. Plus all the usual run-of-the-mill off-the-rails stuff they toss in.
-
With Vasily Podkolzin off to Edmonton, Ian Clark off the ice, and Sammy Blais signed to a PTO contract, Anna & Chris finally have real Canucks news to discuss on the show. The pair also take a look back at the Canucks draft success over the past decade and wonder if things might be a bit dire... or not.
-
The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris have come and gone since the last episode of the show, yet despite that there's very little Canucks news to chat about. Anna & Chris make-do, as they are apt to do, and discuss all sorts of different things. For instance, what did they enjoy most about the Olympic Games? Why are the Sushi races at Vancouver Canadians games so much fun? And what technology should they bring from elsewhere into the NHL?
-
Arturs Šilovs signed a two year deal in what some might suggest is a tidy bit of business. They followed this up with a one year deal with Daniel Sprong, in what some might suggest is a tidy bit of business. What isn't a tidy bit of business is this off the rails episode where Anna & Chris go full Summer mode as they recap the past couple of weeks.
-
The Florida Panthers won the Stanley Cup. Quinn Hughes won the Norris Trophy. The Canucks drafted a few players on Day Two of the NHL Entry Draft. And the team also got themselves a Jake during free agent frenzy. Anna & Chris recap the past two weeks, share a few thoughts on the players that left and the players that arrived (and the few that stuck around), and drop an "F-word" over the NHL news mixed in amongst it all.
-
The Vancouver Canucks sorted out one question mark on the blue line by signing Filip Hronek to an 8-year deal. Is it too long? Is it too much? Anna & Chris consider these questions and more. A few other Canucks contracts were signed, though many question marks remain. And what a wild Stanley Cup Final it has been.
-
With Anna away, friend of the show Patrick Johnston - beat reporter for the Vancouver Province and Vancouver Sun - joins Chris to talk Vancouver Canucks hockey. Patrick shares his thoughts on whether the season can be replicated next year, what it might take to make it happen, and who he see the team having the most luck bringing back as they head into free agency.
-
Despite the optimism Anna & Chris had about the Canucks beating the Oilers in seven, it wasn't meant to be. The pair discuss why it took the team a period & some to remember it was the last game and to shoot the puck, and how emotional the rollercoaster ride was when the team attempted to storm back late in the third period. And with the season now over, they discuss what came out of the end-of-season press conference and what it might mean for the team we'll see next season.
-
Recording the night before the game for all the marbles between the Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers, Anna & Chris revisit the past week and discuss what led us to the point where Game 7 - the podcast preseries prediction - came to be. The pair outline what they feel will be a key to victory and discuss who might fill in for Brock Boeser, ruled out due to a "blood clotting issue."
-
With the Vancouver Canucks up two games to one against the Edmonton Oilers, Anna & Chris check in with their pre-series predictions of Canucks in seven and recalibrate if those predictions hold up. They also share their thoughts on what Vancouver is able to do differently against the Oilers when compared to the Predators, and how that will be their key to success.
-
With the Vancouver Canucks on to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs against the Edmonton Oilers, Anna & Chris take a moment to share their feelings on Games 5 & 6 against the Nashville Predators.
-
Last week, Anna & Chris were oozing with confidence. Then moments after the episode was published, news broke that Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko was out for the foreseeable future. And after processing what it would mean that Casey DeSmith was the presumptive starter, news broke yesterday that he too was out and Arturs Silovs was getting the start.
Had you pitched this prior to the start of the playoffs and tell us that Vancouver would be up three games to one with a chance to win in it Game Five at home, we wouldn't have believed you. Yet here we are.
Anna & Chris discuss everything that has happened and revisit their early series prognostications to see if they remain just as confident.
