  • Have you ever wondered where the line is drawn between professional ties and being friends, especially when your clients start feeling like your closest friends? In this episode, we dive into the tangled world of friendships within the hairdressing industry! We're getting real about the emotional rollercoaster and the tricky business situations that pop up when those salon chairs become confession booths.

We're spilling the tea with our own stories about the tough moments, like when it's time to up those prices (awkward!) or when we're tempted to slip in a sneaky discount. Plus, we're opening up about the burnout that hits close to home when client relationships get a little too cozy.

We also celebrate the beautiful connections we've made, the friends we've found, and the pure happiness of bumping into old clients outside those salon walls. Tune in and hear us answer the question if you can be friends with your clients.

Today we are chatting about the complexities of offering discounts to your specific groups of your hair and beauty clients. Tune in and hear us discuss the impacts discounting could have on your salon's profitability, and client retention and what you can do instead of offering traditional discounts.

  • We've both noticed an uptick in MLM (Multi Level Marketing) activity on social media, especially among hairdressers. It's become impossible to ignore, and we felt it was high time to dive deep into this phenomenon.

We've all probably at some point received a DM from someone looking to sell their products or get us to become part of their team, but we're pulling back the curtain and exploring why MLMs are so popular.

Plus we shine a light on the darker side of MLMs, emphasising the tiny minority who actually make significant money. The majority earn little to nothing, with earnings disclaimers on MLM websites revealing a stark, triangular distribution of income. The structure is such that the real money comes from recruiting others, not from selling products. So are the products actually any good?

If you'd like to hear our thoughts, things we've seen happen and what other options there are for you, tune into this episode.
