Hello today we're going to talk to Antoine Jenkins. Antoine Jenkins is going to give us some key gems of being an entrepreneur and what made him successful today. In this episode he explains the pros and cons of being an entrepreneur, how your mindset can affect your success in a business, and the effects of having a team. Antoine is a 22 year old entrepreneur and is Minnesota number one luxury shoe designer. Ant has made shoes for a lot of well known artists such as Roddy Rich, Lil keed, Lil skies, and the actress Storm Reid from Euphoria. In this episode we’re also going to talk about what motivates him, who he looks up to for inspiration, and what made him want to stop going to school and pursue his dream in shoe designing and taking the art route. Antoine is a hard working kid and doesn't take no for an answer. If Ant sees something to be achievable he goes and gets it without any questions asked. I hope this episode motivates you to start your own business or to not be scared about being fully committed to whatever you want to do in life because opportunity is everywhere and now is the perfect time.

Today we were fortunate enough to interview Kalcee Kent on the importance consumer behavior within her role. She has a bachelors degree in Communions. In college, she had two internships one with The Green Bay Packers and one with The Green Bay Gamblers (which is a junior hockey team). Currently she is the community relations and fan development manager, as well as the merchandise manager at the Fargo Force. In this interview, we first talked about target market and how it effects the way they run their company as well as the way Kalcee plans promotions. We also discussed psychographics and how important of a role they play when really learning who your target market is and how they react to different things. We also dig into values and how they can impact the company and how you can play a role in impacting the community’s value system through different programs. Lastly, she discusses how important customer satisfaction is when gaining and retailing a customer base. When looking into customer satisfaction she talks about how season ticket holders play a large role in this and how they go the extra mile for them. We then conclude the interview with Kelcee giving advice on the importance of networking and the importance of listening to your consumer when marketing.

We had the opportunity to interview Karla Sayler for our podcast. Karla is an entrepreneur who started out as a Nurse at St. Alexis Hospital. Karla now owns Dermacare Clinic, which is a skincare clinic. She is also in real estate renovating and renting out properties. With her 14 years of experience she has encountered some bumps in the road but now came out on top. Throughout the interview we learned about the ways the two businesses are different and how she manages them both. She talked about what marketing strategies work and how consumer behavior can change depending on the target market. We also touched on habitual buying behavior and how she uses the relationships and trust she has built to make her customers choices easy and effortless to keep coming back. She believes strongly in networking yourself to have a further reach in your community and in turn have more people to come to you as customers. It is important to reach customers on all platforms such as social media, print ads, word of mouth, etc. We really enjoyed talking with Karla and got to more about the world of the business and marketing mix. In our podcast today we interviewed Janelle Brandon, she is a wellness and lifestyle medicine supervisor at Sanford Health. She is from Frazee, MN where she graduated and then went to the University of Morris. She then transferred to the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and graduated with a Theater and art management degree. Janelle has worked in all areas from theaters to technology and has learned to use marketing in all of these areas. In the podcast we talk about the journey that Janelle has made along with the lessons she learned along the way. Some topics that we target are Motivation of Consumers and Impact of Marketing Stimulus. We had the opportunity to interview John Teilborg who was the Vice President of sales with a company called Fitz and Floyd where he worked with the licensing of the Ralph Lauren brand. Later in his career, he pursued his dream of working in real estate. John tells us about his time in both positions and how it correlates with consumer behavior. I got the privilege to interview Kade Lee, he works for Scheels in the corporate office as a E-commerce Marketing Specialist. For Kade's position, he is in charge of overseeing products that are specific to hunting on the Scheels website. I learned how he works with other vendors to develop successful marketing strategies and the special tools he uses to determine content. We discussed Scheels target market, trends, and if there's different marketing strategies in certain parts of the US. It was nice speaking with Kade and learning more about what he does and his perspective on marketing. I hope you guys enjoy this interview!

Kelsey Buell works in Public Relations & Donor Development at TNT Kid's Fitness and also used to be an Executive Assistant there. TNT Kid's Fitness is a non-profit organization established in 2005 working toward understanding, accepting, and helping all children grow stronger with confidence. This interview focuses on Kelsey's responsibilities at TNT Kid's Fitness and her prior employment at Northwestern Mutual. Within this podcast, Jared Fink and Sam Beck interview Meredith Sherlin about her career and the steps that led her to where she is today. Currently, Merideth is the Director of Admissions, at North Dakota State University. Meredith’s journey begins in Glenwood, Minnesota. Thought her time there, she found she had a passion for writing. Although still uncertain as to a specified career path, Meredith went on to continue her education at North Dakota State University. Within her time as a Bison, Meredith discovered more about herself as well as what it takes to be successful in both her education as well as a career. Meredith also was given a opportunity to write for a small newspaper within NDSU. Which was a major turning point in her life that aided in her career path.
Upon graduation, Meredith had a transitional time that she thought was a major influence in how she ended back at North Dakota State University. Within the podcast, we take a deeper look into the steps Meredith took that helped guide her to where she is today. Meredith experienced a similar situation in which some college students find theirselves in today. Some of the topics within this podcast include cover motivation, the work environment, as well as how important it is to never turn a opportunity down. We encourage all to listen to our podcast. We feel as though the topics covered within the podcast could be beneficial to any college student today.

Welcome! We are Ryan King and Ethan Ashley and we are both seniors majoring in finance at NDSU. On our episode of Consumer Behavior Conversations, we had the opportunity to talk with Sam Jelleberg. Sam is the assistant vice president and a senior financial analyst at Gate City Bank here in Fargo. We discuss how he got started at Gate City and how he got to where he is today. Sam also tells us what a typical day looks like for him and how he deals with the clients who let him manage their money. We get his take on the importance of networking and how it has helped him in his career. Sam also talks about ways he has continued learning after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in banking and financial economics from UND. Finally, we ask Sam if he has any advice for students like us, close to graduation and still somewhat unsure of what we want to do. This project was a great opportunity to meet with a successful community member in a field that are both studying. Some key takeaways we had were the importance of continue to learn after graduating and to keep adding to your resume. Also, we found it interesting how Sam encouraged us to be willing to take some risk on our early jobs because it might just lead to something great and that while we are young is the best time to take those risks. Hello! We are Alex Steffen and Colin Beckstrand. We both are currently students at NDSU taking part in a consumer behavior class. We have a podcast this week where we meet with Celine Francisco, a relationship manager at Wells Fargo bank. We talk to her about her past history as an NDSU student and early job experience. We talk a lot about her current job as a relationship manager and all the things that go into that job. She talks about the challenges, successes, and interesting parts of her job. She goes into detail about the responsibilities of a relationship manager and how it can be stressful due to the large amount of attention that her clients portfolio's require. She has to have very good communication skills and that came through in the way she talked during the interview. Being a relationship manager was a lot more involved than we had initially expected. Celine goes into detail about how she has to do a lot more than just talk to her clients. She has to be knowledgeable in how to read financial reports, accounts, and determine risk assessment for her clients. At the end of the podcast she gives us some advice and speaks about her future career aspirations. Celine was a very fun person to interview and her energy and excitement about her job will be easy to tell while you’re listening.

In this episode we broke down the mind of Scott Bintz and how he came to be where he is today. He goes into depth on the importance of culture, teamwork, and relationships when trying to build a successful business. Scott founded RealTruck.com and attributes a lot of his success in life to the rise and build up of that company. After Scott sold RealTruck to Truck Hero he decided to branch off and focus his priorities on different aspects including a book, motor cross racing, and smaller companies.
Our main objective was to understand what set him apart and how his target market was engaged. It was very evident that Scott found his groove after a couple failures. Sales were sky rocketing and he highly attributes the sales to very loyal workers as well as the very strong culture that his company demonstrated. We related well with Scott and found this podcast very beneficial.
Anyone listening to this podcast can benefit from Scott's words of wisdom. Hearing a successful entrepreneur speak about the do's and don'ts and what to focus on when starting a business could potentially save someone a lot of money. This podcast opened our eyes up to the opportunities available after college and helped us understand not to limit ourselves in our professional world.

On November 25th, 2019 we will be releasing our podcast we both produced and recorded of our interview with Elliot Dahl. Elliot Dahl is a young and driven business professional who works as a marketing specialist at Border States Electric. In our interview we go into an in-depth look into Elliot’s personal and professional life. This will include discussing an intro on his life growing up in the mid-west and talking about his secondary education as well as the decisions he made during those years of his life. Also, we will go into Elliot’s work background, both while in college and his current career at Border States Electric. We will also converse about the culture and ways in which his workplace functions in day to day business activities, all of this and a handful of other topics will be elaborated on during our interview. This podcast is a great thing to listen to for all marketing, as well as all other business students, looking to enter the professional workforce in the not too distant future. The both of us, and we assume you will as well, took away a lot of great information as well as advice from a young professional that we can really use to apply to our future in searching for, applying for, and starting your future careers. Sadie goes into depth on how NDSU has changed her life and how she wants to do the same thing for the students of today. Sadie was recognized for an award that she was stunned she got nominated for. We also got to really understand what her job entails and how we can use her experiences in our lives. In this episode I had the privilege of interviewing Kimberly Anvinson the director of NDSU’s bookstore. In this podcast we discuss her background and the decisions that lead her to her current position, what her career entails, and then some pieces of advice that she has for students and anyone else looking to enter the workforce. During the interview I wanted to discuss what she believes are the best things for people to focus on to be successful in their career. While discussing skills she mentions the ones that the Clifton StrengthsFinder says are hers. She also states that people should take it to determine their own strengths. After discussing strengths, we talk about some concepts that are key to someone in sales and marketing. These included customer service, inventory management, leadership skills, and how to be competitive in your market. The last thing that this interview focused on was any Advice she had for college students and anyone else looking to get into a career. Along with the basic advice she talks about advice she has for cover letters, resumes, and job interviews. If you are looking to get some advice to improve your skills this podcast is right up your alley. Kimberley was an excellent source of information and I hope many people take her advice.
