We're constantly being told that to accomplish big dreams we've gotta get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Cut the crap! That's just not always true.
Yes, when we set big goals, they definitely require going above & beyond & sometimes pushing ourselves outside of that comfort zone. To do new things we must do new things! But we also mustn't live uncomfortably or sacrifice our self along the way.
There's a clear line we must set, with boundaries determined by us, of how we want to FEEL in this life. Alignment is a feeling of being at home within ourselves & while on the pursuit of the great things we're taking on. If we're not in alignment we're not in a place to reach our full potential.

Corine talks about making the hard hard choice to retire from her dream career performing for Cirque du Soleil Koozå in order to not get ”too comfortable”. But knowing when is the time for change isn’t always easy, especially with all of life’s distractions & responsibilities. But we have a responsibility to first & foremost to ourselves & our happiness.
5 signs its time for change:
What is you gut/intuition telling you? Is it demanding your attention? Is it dropping sides of interest two something unexpected? Are you curious about something that you just keep putting aside but it keeps creeping to the forefront of your mind? All these things are your gut trying to tell you something. Write down what you’re feeling. What you’re afraid of. What you crave. W3hat your needs are. Whats you know to be true about yourself. Let it out freely on paper. Day after day & you will find your answers. Stop waiting fro the “right time” or to “feel ready”. There’s no such thing! There will always be a bazillion reasons to hold off. Lean into the fear, learn as you go. If you’re feeling too comfortable or complacent in your current situation. When we get comfortable we stop pushing our limits, our creativity dwindles & that fire in the belly begins to dim. I want you fired up!! You deserve to be happy!!! If you’re finding yourself resentful or genuinely unhappy where you’re at, be it job, relationship etc. You deserve a life of joy. Sometimes we have to ask for it, demand it & create it ourselves rather than wait for circumstance to change on its own. Follow the itch, the things you’re curious about the dreams you’ve bene putting aside cause you don’t have time. If its coming through, it deserves your attention. If you wish to connect to Corine directly you can email her at [email protected] or on IG. After an NCAA career as an Artistic Gymnast at Oregon State University, Laura-Ann had the opportunity to run away & join the circus. Obviously she dove in head first & toured the world for 7 amazing years with Cirque du Soleil’s Amaluna. Then the pandemic hit the global community & Laura-Ann & all her fellow performers were sent home to wait it out, with no idea when the curtain would re-open. She’s still waiting (along with many others) to find out when, if ever, she’ll get the opportunity to swing across the stage again.
In this episode she shares her own “dark time” grappling with the unknowns so many are experiencing with the future. Through all of that her true character shines, she’s opting for a silver lining. Pursuing her passion for PR & furthering her education & personal development as she navigates the many unknowns. She also collaborated to create Project Lumière a facebook community for people from the performing arts to share professional resources, bond & support one another as the stage has gone dark.

Purpose is a tricky beast. We’re constantly seeking fulfillment & taking on new things, bigger goals & buying shiny objects to get our next hit. Ultimately, for maximum vitality our purpose has to come from within. After all, we’re human BEings not human DOings.
After close to a decade of soul searching, lots of journaling, research, crying, trying, a global pandemic & finally some chakra alignment with The Bodhi Effect its become undeniably clear that living with Purpose means living in alignment with one’s self & making time for the personal pleasures which fill our cup.

Rebecca Marino talks about how she's taking on her goals with no regrets. Capitalizing on the time she has now, as some goals have an expiry date (especially as a pro athlete).
She shares her experience with burnout & how she now stays focused on her goals & avoids the overwhelm by reminding herself of 3 key questions:
PURPOSE: What is the intention behind each specific action? MEANING: Why am I doing what I'm doing? DIRECTION: What is the outcome I'm working towards? These questions are applicable to any goal to help stay on track & remind us of our greater purpose as we sacrifice for the goal.
Rebecca also mentions The Virago Project. A nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving the physical & mental health of all women athletes. Their mission is to spread awareness about sportswomen’s total well-being by educating, empowering, and connecting with athletes and like-minded sports organizations.

Get out of the box you or others have created for you. You deserve to be free and confident in the person you want to introduce yourself as. Our losses (or wins) & rejections, do not define us. Showing up everyday as we authentically are, being kind to ourselves & others are what do.
In the pursuit of a goal, if the process or progress is a slog, try asking yourself 3 questions:
1. Is this approach / journey feeling good? Am I still enjoying the pursuit?2. Am I getting closer to my goal?
*If you answered "no" to question #2
3. Does the goal need to change? Is the goal I've set my sights on, too narrow?
We are good, we are capable but must remain creative and flexible in our pursuit.

Five steps to STAY MOTIVATED when the bog hits you:
Its okay to not always feel motivated. You're normal for feeling this way so please stop being so hard on yourself! Bargain Method - a watered down version of your to-do that day. For example, opt for a light workout instead of the mega one you usually do or a minimalist task on the to-do list. Something is better than nothing but we don't have to operate at max effort 100% of the time. Accountability Partner - Let's opt for a supportive friend or family member who's not directly involved in our goal. Share your excitement with them for your new endeavour and ask them to check in on you from time to time to see how your progress is going or to lend a helping hand. Just 5 More - this easy method adapted from Dan Pink is a great way to trick ourselves to keep working when we're over it! Add just five minutes to your work, or just 5 sentences, five emails, five pushups etc. and beat the lull. You Can Do Hard Things - remind yourself of this and of all of the hard things you've already accomplished, when you're feeling overwhelmed, unmotivated or just not into it today. If you've done anything difficult before, you can definitely do it again. BONUS! - it'll be hard, fun, empowering, frustrating.. get ready, Its gonna be so worth it!-----
