Welcome Friends and thank you for connecting with us for another wonderful episode of CWC! Today, Donna had the chance to talk with Posey Hill.Three-time Arkansas Country Music Awards Nominee (2018, 2022, 2024), Posey Hill is a regional touring Alt-country/Americana group from Central Arkansas. Doug Burnett grew up in Arkansas in the late 70’s-80’s, playing in bands that covered rock, top 40, country and bluegrass before becoming a dad to Kristian, Erin and Megan. The girls grew up listening to him write music on his old ’54 Gibson so it was only a natural progression that they would follow suit. Starting out as a bluegrass band, Posey Hill has played places like Silver Dollar City in Missouri, Rockygrass in Colorado, Leander Bluegrass Festival in Texas and countless venues around Arkansas. Exploring their original music led them to a broader scope of sound, pulling from the rock, country and blues Doug raised the girls on. A valuable part of their musical upbringing was their exposure to some of the best female singer/songwriter influences: Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, and more. They are currently inspired by Americana/Alt-country/Red Dirt acts such as Tyler Childers, Turnpike Troubadours, The High Women, Red Clay Strays and more.In 2021, the group went to The Doghouse Studios in Nashville, TN to begin recording their first all-original album. Released in August 2023, No Clear Place to Fall received global recognition from important critics such as UK’s Alan Cackett and Saving Country Music’s Trigger; making SCM’s Essential Albums of 2023 list. Their singles “Keeping Tyler”, “I’m Too Old for This” and “Send Him My Love” have received airplay all around Arkansas and various national internet radio stations and streaming playlists.Their live shows mix a variety of originals, old country, 70’s rock, folk, Bluegrass and R&B; appealing to a wide audienceFor more on Posey Hill check out https://poseyhillmusic.com/

Welcome Friends and thank you for connecting with us for another wonderful episode of CWC! Join us as we chat with our good friend Demi Michelle!

Demi Bio:
Demi Michelle is an award-winning pop and country songwriter from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. From a young age, she has surrounded herself with music, playing piano, singing her favorite songs, and going to as many concerts as possible. While in college, she discovered her passion for songwriting and decided to turn her experiences into lyrics. The thought of writing a new song is always in her mind, and she can’t resist typing lyrics into her phone and recording melody ideas when she’s inspired. Her songs hold an authenticity that shows who she is, staying true to herself as a songwriter.
Demi kicked off her songwriting journey in 2019 with her debut single, “Into Focus.” After following this release with several singles, she delivered her debut album, Dear Diary, on October 15, 2021. This eleven-track album, which includes Demi’s popular single, “Will I Ever,” truly gives listeners a glimpse into Demi’s heart and story. The songs capture honesty and vulnerability, much like diary entries do. Demi wrote this album for herself to explore her thoughts, feelings, and insecurities. Through writing Dear Diary, she has gone on a journey of self-discovery.
On January 28, 2022, Demi was invited onto her hometown station, 100.7 STAR Pittsburgh, to be the first artist on the morning show’s new segment, Bubba Show Live and Local Music Spotlight. Along with an interview, “Will I Ever” aired during the show, making it Demi’s first play on top 40 radio.
One of Demi’s songwriting dreams came true on March 25. It’s her goal to be a songwriter for other artists, and she landed her first songwriting cut with the release of a gorgeous and emotional piano ballad, “Never Add Up,” by UK-based artist, Lindsey Farrow. Demi both co-wrote the song and recorded piano for it. The release of “Never Add Up” was a huge moment for Demi because her first cut is something she has worked so hard to achieve.

As the kid who has always had the drive and passion for music, from listening to NPR to singing many solos in the school choir, Sam Ferrara has made music a significant part of her life. Beginning with her voice and piano, she quickly realized she had a knack for instruments and learned the clarinet, alto saxophone, and her favorite, bass clarinet - just to name a few. Finding her stride in high school and college, these pieces of her story helped develop her into the musician she is today.
Sam is all about impacting and inspiring others. During a low point in her life, a stranger told her to “go and take her life back” and that was just the boost she needed to go after her dreams. Sam hit the ground running, releasing her songs “Whiskey Memory” and “Get Out of My Town (featuring Amanda McCarthy)” in 2022. The sassy and powerful lyrics of those songs encourage her audience to be not only open with how they feel, but to also stand up for themselves. Sam also hopes that her stories will help her audience to understand her personal journey, too.
A few memorable career highlights for Sam include performing at venues such as Madison Square Garden, Barclay Center, off-Broadway at Symphony Space and The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in Houston, TX. In addition, Sam also traveled to Europe to perform shows in 2010 and 2012 and has performed at legendary venues like The Cutting Room in New York City, The Bluebird Cafe and The Listening Room in Nashville, TN. She has opened for artists such as Kalie Shorr, Honey Country and Lauren Davidson and she looks forward to growing that list.
Her debut album “Piece of Me” was released on July 28, 2023 and is a culmination of the pieces of her journey throughout the last 8 years. Sam feels that the delivery of "Piece of Me" will be the moment where she can finally be seen for who she truly is. This is only the beginning of Sam’s story and the best is yet to come!

Welcome Friends and thank you for connecting with us for another wonderful episode of CWC! Join me as I catch up with my favorite Outlaw Queen of Finland Mikaela Finne!
--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/crazywomencountry/support
Truth be told, Finne was born and spent her childhood on the coast of Finland in Vaasa, and now hails from Stockholm, Sweden. Finne actually found as much inspiration in heavy metal as she did the country genre during her youth, the rebellious spirit she found in both prompting her to pursue her musical passion. Like her contemporaries Sarah Shook and Lydia Loveless, Finne’s emotive vibrato is its own instrument, adding an undeniable passion to her songs and making lines like “I’ve lost count, how many times you’ve broken my heart“ even more impactful. “The country music comes from my dad,” she explains, recalling his love for Dolly Parton and Creedence. “The word ‘outlaw’, for me, [means] you do something that you love regardless of what anybody else thinks about what you’re doing. … When I was a teenager, the music and the heavy metal that I listened to were totally outlaw.”
