In late 2023, three peer-reviewed academic articles were published in the Israel Exploration Journal that attempt to cast doubt on the authenticity of the Mt. Ebal curse tablet discovered in 2019. The lead archaeologist of the project that discovered this defixio, Scott Stripling, joins Henry to respond to these criticisms and thories, including the proposition that the lead curse tablet is actually a lead fishing weight.
