Delighted to have family lawyer Zoe Bloom of BloomBudd LLP as my guest this week on the podcast talking about what she does best - helping those most in need of strategic legal thinking to ensure they exit a marriage with some financial security plus she shares her own ‘starter marriage’ experience and how she got out.
We talk about independence and empowerment especially for women thinking about, starting out on the path or going through divorce. And why it’s time for women to grow their confidence through divorce by taking ownership of their finances, becoming their own lighthouse and staying in their power.

Mediation is fast becoming a 'thing', so many couples are more open to not only mediation, to doing things differently in their divorce. Mediation can be helpful especially around organising and sorting out finances going forward, coparenting arrangements and importantly reducing conflict and divorce spend. Tosh is delighted to be chatting to her guest in this episode of the Divorce Goddess Podcast. Sarah Armstrong is a good divorce proponent who, based on her personal experience wrote "The Mom’s Guide to a Good Divorce: What to Think Through When Children are Involved" (www.gooddivorce.guide).
She defines a good divorce as one that puts the children first. Of course, most divorcing parents say they want to do what’s best for the children but walking that walk through the stresses of a divorce is challenging at best.
Sarah’s valuable advice and actionable strategies can help. What's so interesting about Sarah is that -- by day -- she is Vice President of Global Marketing Operations at Google, who has mentored both men and women her entire career.
After hours, she is an avid “good divorce” proponent whose personal passion is sharing the keys to having a good divorce with moms everywhere.

Delighted to be talking to family lawyer Connie Atkinson of Kingsley Napley LLP about divorce and relocation. Whether you or your ex wants to move away, we talk about the impact it can have on those you love and your children's experience of living as a two-parent family moving forwards. Not forgetting the why, when it is done mindfully, how it can affect all of your lives more positively moving forwards.
Work, schools and family are all important considerations when going through a divorce and, the quality of a much already changed life can be affected not only by the rising cost of living, fuel and house prices, but the ease of access and time with both parents, all of this going into the recipe of where you call your post-divorce home.

Julie Budge is an award-winning Founder & CEO of My Sisters’ House Womens Centre in Coastal West Sussex. She has thirty+ years of working in various roles in the voluntary community sector, with an expertise in fundraising and a passion for helping women in need.
In 2014 she sat around her kitchen table with a few women she knew, and they formed the plans for the first women’s centre in West Sussex. Now the centre is a major key player in the landscape of women's services in West Sussex not only employing 26 women , supported by 50+ volunteers but supporting some 120+ women per month suffering multiple disadvantages such as abuse, mental health, poverty, homelessness, unemployment and more.
During the pandemic – the Centre remained operational and provided key frontline services to women most in need. Appearances on GMTV Lorraine with their Patron Dame Julie Walters, and prime-time coverage of the centre on a Panorama documentary called ‘escaping your abuser’ propelled the centre into national media. During lockdown Julie wrote about the journey ‘from kitchen table to women’s centre’ and the stories of the women who use the services.
Dame Julie Walters said the book is “Beautiful , so brave & wise, ultimately uplifting , even it did make me cry several times”. In Nov 2020 Julie received 2020 Women of the Year – Women in the Community Award.
