Imposter syndrome in the garden and on the homestead is not a fun thing to experience. With social media often glamourising every aspect of day to day life, it can feel disheartening and like you're not doing enough. We've been feeling a little like this lately, particularly with sharing our gardens on Youtube and not feeling like we have much to share, that we should be sharing more, when in reality the garden goes through ebs and flows and slow periods where not a lot happens. In these times, it's fine to not feel the pressure to post on social media or meet 'expectations' that you've created in your mind, but take it slow, surround yourself with good people and set manageable tasks.

To end of the year we decided to film a few solo episodes sharing more of our journey to homesteading and where we are in life right now! In today's episode, I share some of my journey and some simple ways to connect to nature and our surroundings in trying times. Connecting to nature has really helped me know who I want to be in life and it's grounded me when I've had bad days. There are so many emotional and physical benefits to connecting to nature and understanding the plants and animals around us.

We love chickens, we love them so much we talked for an hour about them. In today's podcast we discuss all things backyard chickens. What to feed them, where to house them and all their contributions in the garden. They say chickens are the gateway drug to homesteading and we think this is true, one you have a few it's hard not to get a few more, and soon enough you have an army of chooks helping you compost, fertilize and make the homestead a more lovely place to be.
