  • “Coffee is a product favoring sociability, friendship, and conversation and it should always be consumed with someone else.” - Ernesto Illy•Feed Me Fuel Me (@feedmefuelme) episode 081 with Sam Floyd - Operation Coffee•It's amazing what can happen over a cup of coffee. Just ask our guest this week on Feed Me Fuel Me (@feedmefuelme), Sam Floyd (@operationcoffeeguy). Sam has been on quite the journey, and that is putting it lightly. As an infantry Marine, he as seen the worst of humanity. As a combat veteran, Sam battled PTSD for years. He would mask his suicidal ideations by lying about how well he was doing. Unbeknownst to those closest to him, Sam was in a very dark place. As a result of his inability to effectively cope with his demons, Sam lost a marriage, and sabotaged other relationships and opportunities. After relocating from the desert oasis of Scottsdale, back to his midwest roots in Wisconsin, Sam would turn to the bottle, trying to drink his problems away. One fateful day, over a cup of coffee with a friend, he was simply asked, "What do you want to do?" The answer was easy, "I don't want people to feel as alone as I have felt." In that moment, Operation Coffee was born. Using coffee as the vehicle to have the hardest, most challenging conversations with comfortable ease, Sam is on a mission to drive awareness to veteran suicide. Operation Coffee is his platform and is a beacon for those, civilian and veteran alike, who are going through hard times to better cope with their stress. Operation Coffee isn't about the coffee. No, it is an outlet, providing awareness through the deep, meaningful conversations and relationships that result over a cup of coffee. We are honored to share Sam's journey with you this week in support of all that he as overcome, as he uses coffee as the vehicle to make a difference. We thank Sam for his authenticity and vulnerability. So brew yourself cup of your favorite roast, have a seat and enjoy what can happen over a simple cup of coffee!•https://operationcoffee.com/our-mission.html•Let us know how you enjoyed this episode. • “Marketing is no longer about the stuff that you make, but about the stories you tell.” - Seth Godin•Feed Me Fuel Me (@feedmefuelme) episode 080 with Jessica Webster - The Art of Fitness Marketing •Jessica Webster (@jessicawebster_) brings the heat this week on Feed Me Fuel Me (@feedmefuelme)! The co-host of her newly launched podcast, The Fitness Breakroom (@fitnessbreakroom), brings to light the best and brightest from around the fitness industry and showcases how they became the subject matter experts that they are today. Jessica's journey is one the personifies "self discovery". With a background in journalism, she saw that print media was at a standstill and found her way into a marketing agency in southern California. A coworker of hers took the leap and opened a CrossFit (@crossfit) box down the street and introduced her inner beauty as well as her inner strength. In a place where women were celebrated for being strong, and the community drove the results experienced by the collective, Jessica asked herself a simple question, "Why doesn't everyone know about this?" The answer lied within her, and Jessica found her niche in fitness marketing, specifically telling the story of box owners and their respective communities. This path lead her to Barbell Shrugged (@barbellshruggedpodcast) where she immersed herself in the presence of Mike Bledsoe (@mike_bledsoe), Doug Larson (@douglaselarson), Adee Cazayoux (@adeecazayoux), Aaron Hinde (@aaronhinde), Brian Mackenzie (@iamunscared), and many more heavy hitters in the business of fitness. Her experience behind the scenes, and as an active participant in the Barbell Mastermind taught her many lessons about personality types, telling your story well, and stretching your comfort zone to become the person you need to be in order to accomplish great things. Since relocating to Canada, Jessica is rolling on all cylinders bringing the mission and vision of her clients to the masses. Her passion lies in seeing others realize their greatest selves, and has manifested a life that facilitates her passion while helping others. • “Character can not be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.” - Helen Keller•Feed Me Fuel Me (@feedmefuelme) episode 079 with Derick Vogel - The Credit Yoda•Although the journey can be lonely, once you realize that you are not alone, you will go on to accomplish great things. This week on the Feed Me Fuel Me Podcast, we have the Credit Yoda himself, founder and CEO of Credit Absolute (@creditabsolute), Derick Vogel (@dluv143). This week we'll dive deep into Derick's journey of rebellion that transitioned into a path of self-discovery and servitude. As a young man, so much was impressed upon Derick without the proper purpose or understanding that solidifies the lessons as they were intended. Because the purpose of these teachings was not clearly defined, Derick put his foot down and decided to walk his own path for better or worse, ruining a great many relationships in the process. Even so, he developed a trait that is the linchpin of his success to date, resiliency. He has been able to overcome everything from an accident that severely impaired his vision in one eye, to being one bad decision away from losing his marriage/family and heading to prison. Derick has manifested an amazing life, and it was not without some hard lessons learned. Above all, he has learned that listening with intent, and serving without expectation of reciprocity are the bedrock with which to build a quality relationship upon. These lessons were not learned in school, they were learned through the application of teachings from the mentors Derick has found himself in the company of along the way. Indeed, without adversity, and the dissolving of his ego, all the seeds Derick has planted would never have grown. Listen to the lessons of his journey, and how he invites others to learn from his journey on episode #79 of the Feed Me Fuel Me podcast!•Let us know how you enjoyed this episode. • “To embark on the journey towards your goals and dreams requires bravery. To remain on that path requires courage. The bridge that merges the two is commitment” - Dr. Steve Maraboli•Feed Me Fuel Me (@feedmefuelme) episode 077 with Cori Baker - Moving On Is Not Giving Up.•We can all learn a huge lesson from our guest this week on the Feed Me Fuel Me Podcast! Cori Baker (@cori_fit) took good hard look at here meteoric rise from amateur bikini competitor to placing 18th at the Olympia (@mrolympiallc). No stranger to competition, and the setter of lofty goals, Cori has always held herself to a high standard. At what cost? Cori has evolved from collegiate athletics, to competitive CrossFit, to an IFBB (@ifbb_official) pro card. Upon realizing the potential she had to climb to the Olympia stage, she dove in, head first. In the course of 13 months, she competed on stage in 11 bikini shows. Just recently, this mother of two took a step back and reassessed her priorities. She decided that, the commitment to raising two awesome kids, outweighed the time and commitment to show prep. She came to the realization that as much she preaches balance, she was living out of balance. Cori, ever so humble, with an inferno of drive burning inside her, has managed to maintain her authenticity without falling in love with her celebrity. Rather than live a life contrary to her truth, she has decided to retire from the world of bodybuilding and pursue a life in which the opportunities that present themselves allow her to maintain a healthy balance between career and family. • “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect.” - Mark Twain•Feed Me Fuel Me (@feedmefuelme) episode 067 with Caitlin Barth - Macros & Metcons•A lot can happen in a year! Since we last touched base with Caitlin (@caitlinbarf) she had just begun her journey as a vegan, and was teetering on the fence trying to decide where her path lies in the fitness space. Since then, as a result of a serendipitous string of unfortunate events, namely losing her job, she found her light. While in search of another full-time gig, she took the time to immerse herself in the practice of coaching, training, and nutrition, as well ask herself the tough questions. Sometimes you just need an uninterrupted period of time to be introspective, and be alone with yourself to figure things out. What resulted was the birth of Macros & Metcons (@macros_metcons), Caitlin's nutrition coaching platform. Through the positive experience she had with her own coach, and the gentle nudging of her inner circle, she launched, and hasn't looked back. One of her big initiatives closing out 2017, leading into the new year is the launch of the MetCon Bootcamp, a 90-Day Fitness Program that combines physical fitness and nutrition coaching, making sure her people not only meet their goals, but crush them!
