As we wrap up Women's History Month, this week on the Femmi Pod we are joined by the incredible Kathrine Switzer, who made history as one of the first women to run the Boston marathon in 1967. At that time women running marathons was unheard of. While running the marathon the race director approached Kathrine with anger and attempted to pull her off the course. Kathrine not only went on to complete the Boston marathon in 1967, she went on to complete 40 marathons since, including winning the NYC marathon in 1974. Kathrine has been a huge advocate for women's running ever since, founding ‘261 Fearless’ a global womens running network - empowering women to run, something we are obviously also so passionate about at Femmi.
