ELLS supplies a steamrolling hour of techno for Local Selection 262. Emerging onto the scene in 2023, Ellen has quickly made a name for herself in Ireland’s techno circuit. Cutting her teeth in venues such as Index, Centre Point, Wigwam, The Academy, and The Soundhouse—she’s built a reputation for high-energy sets that blur the lines between hardgroove, trance, and classic techno.
Having shared the stage with acts like Clouds, IMNOTYOURMATE, Veseli, and Black Traffic, the young DJ has been cementing her name as a trusted warm-up DJ, but her reach extends beyond Ireland, with international appearances in Bordeaux, France.
Currently enjoying the sounds of Dylan Fogarty, Cult, and X Club, Ellen doesn’t like to pigeonhole herself to a sound when DJing. “I don’t think there’s a specific genre I focus on—I love going to different gigs and taking inspiration from different bits of sets,” she says. That open-minded approach translates into a sound that is always pushing forward.
Her Local Selection Mix embodies this approach, effortlessly weaving through various shades of the techno spectrum without fully committing to any single niche. Rather than delivering exactly what the audience expects, she teases ideas—flirting with one sound before switching gears and diving into the next. This sharp, unpredictable style keeps us on our toes, showcasing a DJ with both confidence and flair—qualities that don’t always translate easily into a recorded format.

DMF is proud to present the K-llab series, a new collaboration project where label head Kerrie partners with some of her favourite artists. The debut release in the series features an original track and a remix by each artist, offering a fresh take on both the sounds and creative processes of each collaboration.
K-llab-01 sees Kerrie teaming up with Italian duo Dynamic Forces, known for their heavy, old school leaning, industrial-influenced techno. After hosting their UK debut at a DMF event in 2024, the connection between Kerrie and the duo was immediate, leading to the creation of the series.
The duo's killer original track ‘Moralism’ sets the tone as the A1, followed by Kerrie’s grooving, steppy broken-beat remix. The B-side features Kerrie’s funk-infused ‘Good Intentions’ and a slamming Technasia-esque style remix from Dynamic Forces
This release delivers four tracks that merge gritty, industrial influences with futuristic sound design all underpinned by the signature dark machine funk energy, the first K-llab release offers a powerful start to this new series for DMF

Our latest entry to the Four Four Local Selection welcomes Cork-based DJ Tara Casey to the series. With Tara playing a significant role in the shaping of Cork's growing dance music scene through her contribution to the Electronic Music Council, we are pleased to have her feature as this week's Local Selection as she showcases her bouncy and energetic selections for the next hour.
This week's entry to the Local Selection features Tara Casey as she shares a selection of released and unreleased music from a range of Irish producers. The rapid-rising DJ possesses an eclectic taste in electronic music, with a particular affinity towards old-school sounds that include hard house, trance and techno. Her sets tend to lean into funky, nostalgic territory while maintaining a high level of energy throughout.
Tara's buzzy approach to mixing has seen her support a range of artists in a short span of time. Some of which include Skin On Skin, Fish56Octagon, Hannah Laing, X-Club, Le Boom and KIMMIC while playing a host of parties that also include Index, Shine and Slither. Not to mention recently getting announced for her debut festival later this year at Emerge. It's clear to see that Tara is building great momentum at the moment and rightly so. Our latest entry to the Four Four Local Selection welcomes Tipperary-native STITCH to the series. Honing his skills as an eclectic multi-genre DJ and producer, STITCH has provided us with a skillful insight to his vast selections as a DJ for our 260th edition.
STITCH has been making a name for himself within the Irish and UK dance scenes respectively in recent times. Playing a host of shows around the country as well as earning his first international gig in Bristol last year. Not to mention a residency on Subtle Radio which takes place every 2nd Friday monthly, along with a number of releases on Southpoint, Diamond Hand Records, Choki Biki and more where he has broadcast a plethora of bass-infused, club-focused cuts.
In addition to his work in the studio, STITCH has built a reputation for his energetic DJ sets combined with his seamless mixing, having captivated audiences at renowned venues and underground parties garnering support slots for MJ Cole with AMPM, alongside upcoming support slots for High Fidelity with Incognito & Miley Serious with Equinox.
STITCH shared some thoughts about his Local Selection ahead of its release:
"This mix was a really fun one blending a lot of warpy tracks I’ve both recently found and even some old ones I’ve had for time, it really doesn’t get much more “my sound” with this one consisting of crazy tracks by French II, Kassian, Lokane, DJ ADHD, Povoa, Villager and many more. Usually before gigs I’ll record a couple of mixes in preparation to both practice and to find blends I enjoy and feel would work at the time of the event, so this was one that I had been proud of and held onto, so I’m super glad and honoured to have it featured. Love."

This week’s Local Selection comes from rising Dublin DJ and producer Josh Burke, who seamlessly blends stripped-back contemporary techno with gritty, funk-infused old-school cuts. His entry is a flirtatious interplay between the past and present, keeping listeners locked in for the full journey.
At 22 years old, Dublin-based DJ and producer Josh Burke is quickly making a name for himself in Ireland’s vibrant but competitive techno circuit. Known for his raw, deep, and old-school techno style, Burke has carved out a space that pays homage to the roots of the genre while injecting it with a nu-school edge.
Burke’s has been honing his craft as a DJ, playing across some of Ireland’s most lauded venues from The Racket Space, Pawn Shop, The Grand Social, Bow Lane, and An Spailpín Fánach.
Burke’s entry to the Local Selection Mix is a fleeting journey through 90s and early 00s-style techno, carving out a sound rooted in Robert Hood’s Minimal Nation and Jeff Mills’ Purpose Maker era, while incorporating modern influences like Alarico and Chlär’s Primal Instinct sound and Truncate’s Chicago house-tinged grooves. He keeps things gritty, dynamic, and unrelenting. Our latest contribution to the Four Four Local Selection is Irish-born, Berlin-based DJ and promoter Taurean. The DOLLHAUS founder has provided us with a highly energetic recording which captivates her distinct approach to techno.

This week’s Local Selection comes from Brazilian-born Ortega, who delivers an hours live set of stripped-back, powerful house. The mix weaves in and out of syncopated synth lines, swirling acid, and Drexcyian electro euphoria.
Ortega, also known as Boomtz Boom, is a DJ and electronic music producer from Taboão da Serra, Brazil. His journey into dance music began at the age of nine in 1993, eventually leading him to pursue DJing in 2006.
By 2012, Ortega had made his mark on São Paulo’s club scene and became a key member of the Smile Collective, where he immersed himself in the city’s vibrant club culture. In 2016, he shifted focus to production, blending elements of electro, house, techno, and acid with latin, jazz, funk, and disco influences.
Ortega has played at several notable festivals and venues, including Electric Picnic, Tengu, Wigwam, Fidelity, and Skol Beats Factory, sharing the stage with many of his musical idols.
His production highlights include the 2017 album Diggin’ For Beats Batuque with Beat Maker Rasec, and three EPs released between 2021 and 2023, including Tropic Lines, a collaboration with Bunny Kawaii. In 2024, Ortega was invited by Kawaii to run the label Canario Records. Under his Boomtz Boom alias, he has also released a series of singles on his Bandcamp.
Ortega’s live set is steeped in deep, rolling basslines and intricate percussive grooves, as he expertly navigates the journey through hypnotic, atmospheric breakdowns and nuanced, minimalistic power. The hour mix showcases a producer and performer who has earned his stripes, shifting through various moods and crafting a seamless journey where it was hard to tell where one track began and the next ended. The result was a persistent, organic flow that kept the crowd locked in, with each drift feeling natural and free-flowing.

The IMF label closes out a superb 2024 with another vital collection of essential techno sounds curated by founder Marcel Fengler. HARDPROOF VA 07 once again follows its vision, bringing together the techno stars of tomorrow with some of the genre's most consistently innovative pioneers. Felicie is shaping modern techno on many different fronts: the Amsterdam-based Frenchwoman has hosted her own Fastgroove Klub project at Rex Club and dropped her hugely intense signature sounds on the likes of Exhale and Mord. Her fantastic 'Komodo' rides on dubbed-out drum loops with scruffy kicks and mind-melting percussive patterns adding to the intensity. It's fast but nuanced and packed with deft designs.
