Once again 2024 hits hard with more RPGs than the normal person can keep up with. Nintendo has given us Dragon Quest 3 finally and Chris is on cloud 9. For those that listen to the show you know that this series holds a special place in his heart. So, when this was announced we knew this was a "have to play" game. And it has not disappointed. The cozy-ness of a classic RPG just hits different with these classics.

From the rich story to the deep mechanics and job like system it has captured our attention. Instead of flooding our feed with more Metaphor we decided to do a full spoiler free episode for you all.

The evolution of free to play games has changed drastically over the years. From gotcha games, to live service there are different styles out there that try to tap into our lizard brain and keep us playing or buying any random cosmetic that gets dropped. But there are some titles out there that tend to rub the fan base the wrong way, like server wipes every season with Once Human.

Hello Cubies! This is a blast from our past here with an episode to do spooky month proud. Way back in 2022 we released an episode of our favorite horror games and what made them special to us. So, with Christian out of the country we figured what better time then now to revisit this idea and what better time then a few weeks before Halloween! ------------------Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show. Feels like a broken record at this point but this has been a great year for games. And Atlus did something amazing, they released another demo (like Unicorn Overlord) that allows you to play a good chunk of the game. Just have to say that the demo does not disappoint, but rather really drives the point home that we will be diving head first into this one. Christian also has played a lot more of Bloomtown and for a game that has such a cozy exterior the content and story are so rich and will tug at all of your emotions. ------------------Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show. Some big hitters this week! We are digging through the back log a little bit here with Christian playing through the Mass Effect series for the first time ever. Exploring the vast worlds and rich story with fresh eyes is really fascinating. Then we travel back to current times with the Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom. Finally we are able to play as Zelda with a very interesting mechanic to explore. Then we chat about a new cozy, nostalgia heavy, murder mystery, persona like game that is Bloomtown: A Different Story. So muuch to talk about and so many great mechanics too dive into. ------------------Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show. Chris beat Astro Bot and we speculate on whats next for that franchise. Maybe a Kingdom Hearts inspired Sony-verse? And Dungeons Of Hinterburg asks the question of what wouldn't you do on a vacation. Magical portals open so why not plan a trip to fight monsters to decompress from your day to day life. But what beaches in games would you actually want to visit for a weekend getaway?------------------Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show. Hello all! Before we get into Astro Bot Christian has a little chip on his shoulder that needed discussion. It is becoming much more common in games and media now but too many titles have little to no pay off at the end. You finish a story and instead of enjoying a twist, or witnessing a huge epic event, or just a good payoff the ending is spoiled half way through and nothing exciting happens. Its especially annoying with games you spend 40+ hours in. But anyway...Astro Bot is amazing and it is just further proof that we NEED a new Ape Escape game!------------------Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show. Hey there! Throughout media certain jobs have been made to look more appealing then they actually are. There is more drama and gun fights thrown in to add to the mystery of what the job actually entails. Whether is Indiana Jones surviving a nuclear blast in a fridge, or fighting a giant Trex in a cave like Tomb Raider the job has a lot of added flourish. But is this a bad thing? Is this just escapism at its finest. And how many people have been introduced to these jobs through media and have made it their life's passion to go into the field. Let's talk about that!------------------Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show. We open hot this episode with some super great tech issues with Game Pass. But dive head first into the world of simulation games with inZOI. If you have not seen this game it looks insane! The character creator alone is so realistic its slightly uncomfortable. While Christian was never one to get into these types of games, Chris helps him better understand the appeal of these fictional worlds. ------------------Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show. Coop is coming back in a hard way for us here at GlitchCube. Chris who is not a Avatar fan boy has been playing the game with a buddy, and only playing it coop and enjoying the game itself. With that there is also Remnant 2 to explore. While Christian continues down his path of long RPGs with Tales Of Arise next. So much to play and so little time. ------------------Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show. Hello again! We took a week off last week for good reason! Our Glitch family has grown. We welcome Chris's new babies into the world! With such a large life event we somehow managed to still find time for games. Christian finished Eiyuden Chronicles, a fun game but slightly lacking in something. And Chris finished up Pikmin 4, a solid gaming experience. Fun puzzles and great visuals. So sit back, relax and enjoy some thoughts on these games, plus some shows too!------------------Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show. From the IBS Podcast! We have a series of fun episodes planned out for you all. We are going to be playing the Quiet Year. It's a table top world making game. Perfect for world building and we allow our imagination to run wild here. Typically you start with a blank slate and build out the world from there. But we decided to build a world in the land of Candy Land! Think epic Game Of Thrones meets cotton candy woods and chocolate swamps. ------------------Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show. Hey everyone! We are back with a little update episode here. We have been combing through our backlog of retro games all the while trying to keep up with the newer titles as well. We dive deep into Eiyuden Chronicles, a great love letter to the Suikoden games. But is it sticking too close to the source material? Is it missing some of the quality of life tropes that we have come to expect from modern RPGs. Also, Pikimin is back in a big way! The perfect pick up and play game for everyone!------------------Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show. With the flood of great games released so far this year and looking at the list of whats to come we thought it would be a good idea to look at the game of the year contenders so far. So, at least we forget about all of them. Even though we have split the year the list is as strong and as long as previous years already. And there is truly something for everyone. Games like Balatro, Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown, Unicorn Overlord, 1000xResist, Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth and so much more!------------------Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show. This week we dive back into memory lane and do a little draft pick of our top 4 N64 games. And some of these picks will definitely surprise you. Looking back at this console it really was made to be enjoyed with others. So many of their biggest games were not single player experiences. Instead they brought families together while simultaneously ripping them apart. Whether its arguing over the rumble pack or getting mad at the rng of Mario Party it was a crazy fun time!------------------Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show. Atlus games has continued to surprise us. We have been on an Atlus kick lately and each one of their games is so different from the last but there are a couple things that persist through out all of them. And that is that they are innovative with captivating stories that have memorable characters with true life issues that are very relatable for the player. And we really dive into the time traveling, Game Of Thrones styled world of Radiant Historia. We both agree that this is the best version of time travel in anny game we have played. And oh man that combat system is so unique mixing turn based, grid based tactics and strategic turn order to make a very interesting experience. ------------------Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show. We have a special episode here for you all. This week we are going to going over the large library of the PS1 and picking our top four games. But instead of just picking them together we wanted to try something different and do a draft style pick of our top games. The way this is going too work is we each take turns picking a game and we cannot pick games that each other have picked. So that way we will have 8 unique picks. The picks will really surprise you these are definitely not the top rated games on the PS1! Spoiler one is Yugioh! ------------------Hosts: Christian & Chris Don't forget to leave us a cheeky review and we will read them on the show.
