  • The Mississippi Taxpayer Assistance Project is a project of North Mississippi Rural Legal Services. The tax laws can be confusing and hard to understand. If you are having problems with the IRS, the Mississippi Taxpayer Assistance Project provides taxpayers with free legal assistance on tax issues throughout the entire year. Low income taxpayer clinics ensure the fairness and integrity of the tax system by educating low income taxpayers about their rights and responsibilities, by providing pro bono representation to taxpayers in tax disputes with the IRS and by identifying and advocating for issues that impact low income taxpayers. Although funded by the IRS, they are completely independent from the IRS and the Mississippi Department of Revenue. The Mississippi Taxpayer Assistance Project does not prepare current year tax returns.

  • Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville, MS provides live video feed of their football, basketball, baseball and softball games at no cost to the viewer. Last year they recorded over 400,000 views of broadcasts throughout the school year. Two years ago, Northeast partnered with The Shark 102.3 FM radio station because it's great to watch the game at nemcctv.com when you can but it's also great to have the flexibility to listen to the game broadcast on your radio or phone app when you can't watch the game! Blake Long, Director of Sports Information, sits down with Melinda to recap the big moments of the last school year. Northeast Games can be watched on nemcctv.com and can be heard on The Shark 102.3 FM radio, mobile app or streaming online at shark1023.com. If you would like to become an NEMCC Sports Sponsor with 400,000 pairs of eyes on your ad for THIS school year, contact Melinda at The Shark 102.3 by calling 662-837-1023.

  • After the death of a family member in November, show host Marsalis went on a quest to understand all of the things that need to happen to help make it easy on your next of kin when you die. Marsalis purchased a NOK Box which is an organization system that helps you get your affairs in order regardless of your age. While working on her box, she realized that she needed expert advice before making some decisions. This need for advice turned into a series of YouTube Videos called Get Ready, Get Set, Live!
