Itâs so bittersweet. We deeply appreciate all of you who have joined us and listened to this project and labor of love over the years. With over 140 episodes of Maine-based true crime, paranormal, and spooky stories (and 40+ bonus episodes!), we are proud of what we have accomplished and what we came here to create.
We are closing down this project not because we have necessarily run out of stories to tell, but because our personal stories are changing. We have other projects on the horizon that we would like to venture toward and, while we will always have a sacred place in our hearts for Homegrown Horror, it is truly a labor of love, requiring hours upon hours of research, creativity, writing, recording, and editing. We felt it was time to let it go before we ran ourselves completely ragged trying to juggle it all.
We do also have a hope that maybe folks will come and find us âpost mortem,â if you will, and listen to some of these stories, enjoy them, and share them. We will still be posting episode updates for the backlog of posts we didnât get to at the time of sharing the weekly episodes and bonus episodes and are happy to respond to questions and community.
Saying goodbye is never easy. But, you havenât seen the last of the misadventures of B and Jackson, a cohost and a cohost.

We watched the 1976 and 2013 versions of Carrie, spoiler alert they end the same! Super fun movies, both well grounded in their unique time periods.
That's it. The last bonus episode. This is Jackson editing, and on behalf of B, Allegra, Emilie, Anna, Binx, and all our other friends who encouraged us along the way, thanks for listening. <3

**Content warning: This episode does contain brief discussion around suicide. Listener discretion is advised.**
B's throwing it back to an old case she started to research earlier this year - it's now Hattie Whitten's time to shine! But, her story isn't all that it seems and *spoiler alert* Jackson isn't happy about the ending.

Did you know that Maine could be the basis of itâs own X-Files episode? In part one of our examination of some of the mysteries of Loring Air Force Base, B digs into the weird happenings of October 1975 when an unidentified aircraft penetrated the weapons storage area of the base - famously home to a metric ton of nuclear weapons. Was it related to Russian surveillance in a Cold War espionage bid or a true case of a close encounter of the third kind?
