God wants to—and can—destroy your strongholds. The demolition begins when consequences become crises. Satan condemns and immobilizes with generalities, but God convicts with specifics. When the crisis drives you to get alone with God, He contends with you personally. Discover His gentleness and patience as He prevails over you physically and marks you forever spiritually, just as He did with the former deceiver called Jacob.

Strongholds get stronger through our own behavior, putting the weight of biblical responsibility on us. Consider twelve significant strongholds and address the patterns that need to change in your life. As Jacob experienced, unless strongholds are destroyed, you will reap what you’ve sown when others do to you what you have done to others. And if nothing else scares you enough to change, seeing your strongholds replicated in the lives of loved ones should. See God’s favor and transforming power prevail in your life. No stronghold is too strong for Him.

Maybe it’s family. Maybe it’s integrity. Maybe it’s morality. Somewhere, we all make personal compromises. But in a world so accepting of grey morality, what does God have to say? In this message (taken from the life of King Josiah), learn about the dangers of compromising and how God responds. Killing sinful compromises and chasing after Christ is not an easy play. But today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart.

It sounds crazy, but we do it: we want two things that cannot co-exist and lead to very different places. It’s called double-mindedness and it creates instability in every area of life. As this message examines the story of Jesus healing the invalid by the pool, you will be helped to locate areas of double-mindedness, take action to help you think differently, and restore hope in the dramatic transformation available through Jesus Christ.

In this summarizing message, the influence of your disposition and family of origin continue to be examined and lead to a biblical bottom line: the heart of every stronghold reveals a theological problem. Find out where you may be thinking wrongly about God, not believing He is sufficient, sovereign, good, and just. Detect where you may have lofty opinions, arguments, and patterns of thinking resistant to Him. And discover the weapon of God’s Word so you can fight fear with trust, despair with hope, foolishness with wisdom, and anger with humility.

Your family background can affect your thinking like chains that bind, but the influence doesn’t have to control you. And your family of origin doesn’t alleviate your responsibility—you will be held responsible for your attitudes and actions. Recognize how generational sins may be impacting your decisions and the ways you handle conflict. Then allow the Word of God to break any inherited strongholds in your life.
