  • 22 | How Minimalism Can Set You Free to Follow Your Dreams and Live a More Meaningful Life - A Discussion with Dawn Shannon

    Hello Jesus People Sisters!

In this episode, we continue our discussion on minimalism with guest, Dawn Shannon. Dawn shares from personal experience how minimalizing your life can bring freedom for you and others and help you pursue your dreams.

Working in a corporate setting for most of her life, Dawn Shannon enjoyed her work and the people she worked with but she always knew she was meant for more. Fear and doubt paralyzed her from taking bold, courageous action to pursue her dreams.

When her mother died unexpectedly, she realized life was too short to let fear rob her from experiencing and fulfilling her lifelong dreams. Without her faith and accountability partners, she would NEVER have stepped out of her comfort zone to pursue her dreams.

Now, Dawn travels the globe speaking to others who have been putting off their dreams for decades, encouraging them to pursue those dreams NOW because tomorrow is not promised, and it's never too late!

Dawn encourages and empowers her audience to overcome fear, shame, and doubt, replacing those limiting beliefs with bold, courageous faith to pursue and monetize their lifelong dreams.

Her motto, "A plan without action is a dream deferred!" drives her commitment to inspire and challenge her audience to Harness the Power of Accountability!

    May this episode bless you!

    Hello Jesus People Sisters!

How might your life be better with less? That’s the question Joshua Fields Millburn asked himself. It led him to becoming a minimalist. Ryan Nicodemus, Josh’s close childhood friend, saw Josh’s contentment and became a minimalist too. What is a minimalist and how might it transform your life to let go of stuff? Could minimalism be the key to finding freedom, contentment, and a more meaningful life? Stay tuned as Janine and I review the Netflix documentary The Minimalists: Less Is Now.

  • 20 | Learning to Walk Closely with God - An Interview with Dr. Marianne Herr

    Hello Jesus People Sisters!

In today’s episode, we speak with Dr. Marianne Herr, CEO of Created For More. Marianne shares how she learned to walk more closely with God and the benefits of continuously pursuing an intimate relationship with Him.

We hope this episode blesses you!

    Ellie and Janine

    Mentions:

I am Marianne Herr, born and raised in Switzerland. For more than twenty years, I have lived with my husband, Guenter, and our sons in Germany.

I always felt that my calling was to help people overcome obstacles in their lives so they could pursue their unique, God-given purposes. However, I struggled with my obstacles, mainly the focus on “religion” over a relationship with God.

I started my career in nursing and later earned my Ph.D. in anthropology. However, this work was not personally fulfilling and did not give me the tools to help people how I felt called to.

Along the way, I became an ordained minister. This allowed me to combine my faith and my intellectual knowledge to assist Believers in many areas of their lives.

Years later, I discovered life coaching and realized that this was the best way to assist Christians in pursuing dreams and desires and a life of greater fulfillment. I became certified through the Professional Christian Coaching Institute (PCCI) to learn how to apply my knowledge and experience to helping Believers.

My journey may seem remarkable, but I was focused on my performance and “pleasing God” rather than on knowing God’s love for me. It was only when I was at the end of my rope several times that I learned to walk with God and let Him guide me through challenging times. I was never taught how to do this in church; I had to learn the hard way.

I designed the Created For More life coaching program to help Christians find clarity in their lives and develop into the people God created them to be. This program is not about doing more for God but about allowing God to do more through you. I want to share what is not taught in churches so that Christians can stop trying to do things for God and let Him do things through them. My life verse has been John 10:10b: “I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better than they ever dreamed of.”

My journey has been one of transformation, from uncertainty to confidence, from insecurity to clarity, and from anxiety to competence. It was a long process for me, but I hope it can be a shorter journey for you, inspiring you to embark on your own personal and spiritual growth path.

  • 11 | How the Top Five Regrets of the Dying Can Bless the Living

    Hello Jesus People Sisters!

In this episode, Janine and Ellie discuss the top five regrets of the dying. Bronnie Ware, an Australian author, did palliative care for years taking care of patients at the end of their lives. Her book, The Top Five Regrets of the Dying: A Life Transformed by the Dearly Departing, sets the stage for today’s episode. We’ll discuss what those top five regrets are and how knowing them can bless your life. Not only can you avoid those regrets, but you will be inspired to live your life to the fullest now.

Are you racing through your life? Days go by and you don’t remember what you did and/or don’t feel like you’ve accomplished anything. Have you been a good steward of the one life you’ve been given? Most of us are living on autopilot. It isn’t until we are faced with death that we realize the time we wasted and opportunities we’ve missed.

This is of particular interest to our community because we are older and closer to the end of our lives. The enemy distracts us from examining how we are living our lives and many of us realize too late that we didn’t live our lives to the fullest. Knowing the top regrets of the dying can help us to examine how we are currently living our lives and make the necessary changes so we can live a life without those regrets.

We are called to number our days and be good stewards of the one and only life we’ve been given. Let’s intentionally live for Jesus first. We encourage you to examine your life now while you still have time and make changes so that you can live a life without regret. So that you can fulfill God’s calling on your life and complete the assignments He’s given you.

    May this episode bless you!

  • 07 | Neuroplasticity: You Are Never Too Old to Learn New Things Part 2

    Hello Jesus People Sisters!

In this episode, we continue our discussion on neuroplasticity and why it’s so important. Despite what many people believe, you are never too old to learn new things. Your brain is an amazing creation of God and has the ability to help you transform your life. What if the last third of your life could be your most productive and happy?

Sisters, it’s time to wake up. Do you want to stay stuck in your rut or finish strong? Do you want to do a slow slide into heaven or do you want to meet Jesus knowing you have given your all and fulfilled your calling? You only get one life.

Use it or lose it. Your brain is aging and your cognitive abilities will deteriorate as well. Unless . . . you purposely start pursuing a healthy brain and a healthy lifestyle. Listen to this episode to find out how.
