Previously, he has served as a Councillor on the Coronary Artery and Vascular Disease Council at the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, retained on the roster of experts for Investigational Testing by Health Canada's Health Products and Food Branch, and served as an elected Senator on the Toronto Metropolitan University's Senate (formerly Ryerson University).
