  • I am pleased to be interviewing Amye Cole, a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in EMDR therapy. Today, we're discussing EMDR and how it helps with trauma and PTSD.

EMDR therapy offers hope for individuals struggling with the lasting impact of traumatic experiences. By processing these memories and moving towards self-compassion and resilience, individuals can experience improved emotional well-being and deeper connections in their relationships.

    We're exploring:

What is EMDR? EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a type of therapy that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences or distressing memories. How does EMDR work? EMDR involves bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping) while the individual focuses on a distressing memory. This process helps the brain reprocess the memory, moving it from a stuck, emotionally-charged state to a more adaptive, positive state. Is EMDR right for your situation? EMDR can be beneficial for individuals who have experienced traumatic events or have distressing memories that continue to impact their daily lives. Amye explains the importance of assessing an individual's "window of tolerance" before beginning EMDR therapy to ensure they can safely process the memory. How to get the most from EMDR therapy? Amye discusses the different formats of EMDR therapy, including weekly sessions and intensive programs. She also emphasizes the importance of finding a therapist with whom you feel safe and connected.

Amye shares examples of how this incredible tool helps her clients change their lives for the better, offering hope to those struggling with the lasting impact of trauma. If you or someone you know is dealing with traumatic experiences, EMDR therapy may be a valuable path to healing and resilience.

  • Ben shares the journey behind writing his book "The Way Home" after going through a difficult personal period. He discusses the calling he feels to help others "wake up" and live fuller lives, even as he was not tending to his own pain. The conversation explores the hero's journey framework and how Ben weaves his own experience into that, making it relatable for those who feel a sense of "losing their heart" or not living to their full potential. There's an earnestness and gentleness as he explains the small awakenings along the way. It's a thoughtful dialogue around translating mystical experiences into something shareable with others through storytelling, and living it first before trying to tell everyone. • Today, I'm speaking with copy-conversion expert Sage Polaris. We're discussing many fun things when it comes to copywriting to increase engagement with your community. As you know, I prefer to get to know the person behind the business and today's conversation is no exception. Enjoy.

Sage shares with us her insights:

“If things were not that different in the market right now, if there, wasn't inflation. I probably would have done the all-access pass again, and been good with that right. But you're right. There is this like - Oh, I keep wanting to change things to refresh my energy. But I think if something's working, it's one of the hardest things to do to just keep going with the thing that's working. And the one part that gives me a little solace, as I do that at like, keep the same offers year after year is to know, like my audience is changing like. Yes, there's people who have been with me for years and years and years, and I love up on them in my own way. And like, give them opportunities to continue to work with me. And there's a lot of new people who have never seen the thing that I've launched four rounds before. We're like brand new to it. They have no idea, so I keep them in mind, too. I'm like - I don't want to change things too much, because these new people are just, are going to be as excited as the other people from the last four rounds. Right? So I think it's a reconnection to understanding again who your audience is, and where their mindsets at, and meeting them where they're at…” “So I do think, though, like if I had learned to be an energetic match to those goals, I, you know, could have received more easily. And I think that's the work that we can do with our mind right, and is very powerful. It's like you, don't have to have actually received the money to feel like you've received the money. So even one of my friends, we use this voice messaging app, and we'll send each other messages back and forth, and we'll finish like a task we need to do in our business to lead to the next launch or whatever, and we'll prepay ourselves like Yup, I finish that task. I'm paying myself fifty thousand dollars for that today. So those types of things like learning to tap into the feeling of that money before it comes, or even the feeling of people being in my programs before they're actually there. It doesn't always have to be attaching yourself to the money right like you can start to feel into and pre celebrate people being in something that you're going to offer in the future and celebrating it before, like taking myself to a nice meal, you know, hanging out with friends, going in a boat right with my family before the money is there. That has really helped me as well, because it's that feeling again, like I already feel abundant. I already feel wealthy just by being able to share this with my family right now.” “And I kind of think of them as a triangle so the audience on the bottom, the offer in the middle of the copy at the top. I think the audience part is the most important first. It's surprisingly like I put it before the messaging right to have a good strategy to build that audience. So for me that evolution, like our last no-charge copy course that we did, we had thirty-seven hundred people sign up that broke all our records like we didn't expect that many. I had a good stretch goal that was near that number, but that was great. And what changed that specific launch though, was I was very, I had one question that I or not one question. I had one statement that I told myself right before that launch. I said, let no come from other places, not yourself, because I wanted to ask people to partner with me like we're talking about. And there was a hesitation of like not wanting to send the messages to people to ask them to help me launch this, right? So for me, that was a big thing like mindset-wise. Let no come from other places, not yourself like - make the asks. Do the things that are going to be uncomfortable that you think everyone's going to say no to you and just do it anyways…”

Sage Polaris has written high converting copy for more than 400+ clients earning them millions of dollars. She helps personal brands and service providers sell more of their service or offer with the words on their website.

Her emails and sales pages are responsible for generating as much as 7 figures in a single launch. She has worked with Chalene Johnson, Chrisette Michele, Rick Mulready, and Lynne Twist. Basically, she makes money for the “internet famous” people we all look up to.

And in turn, has been an international speaker in exclusive private Masterminds. She can SHOW your audience how to go from story telling to story selling. This is what truly makes a brand legendary.

She's talking today about the love attraction, about the ability to envision and manifests the things that you most want. It was so fun to meet Natalie for the first time and I know you're going to love it. Enjoy.

Now, helping children around the world, and really a life far exceeded any of my expectations. So, it doesn't matter how old you are. It doesn't matter what your childhood was, where you live, where you came from, where you're going. None of that matters, because we all have the ability to manifest what it is that we want,

And if you apply the formula, if you get clear about what you want, if you can see that, and you keep taking consistent action towards it, you can create anything that you want. And I am living proof of that. So you know, like I said it doesn't matter who you are, where you're from. You can do this…”

  • Today, I'm interviewing Gary Walstrom who is the founder of the company called Culture Index. His company helps companies ensure they have the right people in the right jobs. To do this you as the employer and the employee take a quick quiz and then you meet with experts from Culture Index to help you understand what's going on. Do you have the right person or is there someone else out there that would be better fit. Culture Index was originally born out of a person's desire to help people achieve greatness like they never knew they could. And, it has become an integral business strategy for over 3500 business leaders across virtually every industry. Enjoy.

Gary shares: “...and that is, people are the most important things in all companies, not just some companies. When you look at a company, it has great people doing great jobs. There's nothing that will stop them from achieving all the goals that have ever been set for. It's the companies who think about, you know, the famous book love to great, and they think about other things they've written or scene. And then they get too attracted to some of that without looking at really information that's objective and say - well, maybe I'm kind of comfortable where I am and I go on. No, because see the people who frustrate you are the ones who are always non-performing. If you find all people in the company, they're all performing. Then success comes from everybody, because the people love what they do. They're being managed well at what they do. The company is being successful, but so is the human being being successful. They want to contribute. In other words, people today don't want to just do this and do this. In other words, they're looking for how they can make an impact on life. How can they make an impact on the world…”

Gary Walstrom was born and raised in Iowa on a small farm until he went to college to study Veterinary Medicine. After two years, he went in to the military—Air Force and became a Russian Linguist with a Top Secret Cryptographic clearance. Upon leaving, he finished his college degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Statistics and Accounting.

Gary began working with assessments in the hiring and training of restaurant staff. He shortly thereafter became an Executive Advisor, working with Entrepreneurial companies; educating them through a process of Executive Workshops to be more capable of making good human decisions by understanding who the person really is; what motivates them and drives them to succeed.

He then began working with Louis Janda, a clinical Psychologist, test builder to build him the Culture Index Instrument for business consultative purposes. Today, there are 75 people around the US, Advising Executives on how to better manage their human capital, grow their top line and bottom line, while scaling their business.

  • Today, I'm interviewing my friend Mostafa Hosseini. He is talking about follow-up. So if you are a business owner, if you're in sales, if you're in pretty much any kind of business. You work for one or you own your own business. I feel like this will be a helpful conversation especially if an aspect of what you do involves sales. Mostafa is going to talk about the psychology of selling and the importance of follow-up. I love this conversation, so many breakthroughs. I felt like everyone I know, all the business owners out there could really benefit from this conversation. Enjoy.

Mostafa shares with us his insight:

“Hey? What's going on? What's happening in your life? What's going on with business? Are you happy with the products and services that we are providing? Again, depending on the portion of the list that we're calling. And then we always ask for a referral. That's the last question. 'John, who do you know that is having problems with their follow up? Who do you know that is having problems with their mortgage? Who do you know that is having problem with their neck or back? Right? And then, we always ask for a referral. If you ask that question every three or four months, you're like training and educating your audience to refer to you, and you're reminding them every three or four months. So you're creating a referral machine…”

  • Today, I am sharing an interview I had with Joyce Marter. Joyce wrote a book about fixing your financial mindset and she’s a licensed therapist. Her book is a combination of what she's learned in helping people as a therapist and also through her own journey of being a business owner and now a speaker. I appreciate Joyce's vulnerability in sharing you know what it's like to face our issues around money and go on to actually write a book that helps people change their relationship with money. Enjoy.

Joyce shares with us this insight:

“And for me, I remember when my business was in that cash flow hell. I even lost my business partner. It was a terrible time of my life. I thought I was going to have to file business bankruptcy. And I went to a CPA that was recommended by a friend, and I was crying when I handed him my Quickbooks file. And he said - Joyce, you truly have a cash flow problem. Your business model works, and I can help you get the proper lending. But as he looked at my Quickbooks file, he did a little intervention, and he said - You're not running a charity to employ therapist, and you deserve to make a profit. And I realized that I had a lot of co-dependent behaviors, people-pleasing behavior, detrimental care-taking at the expense of my health and well-being. I took care of everyone else before myself until I was exhausted, depleted, and burned out. And that had to change. And that was the beginning of my transformation personally and professionally. And with the help of so many others, I was able to turn the ship around. And unbelievably, not even seven years later, I was able to successfully exit my business...”

  • Today, I'm interviewing Liam Austin. Liam is the co-founder and CEO of Entrepreneurs Headquarters/HQ. We are talking about his journey of starting his business about 7 years ago and the success that he had. A phenomenal success like why. We're going to unpack what happened. What allowed him to build a huge email list to be marketing with some of the biggest digital marketers in the world. What did he learn along the way. How has it helped transform him, his business. And also his goal of having this location independent business that he and his partner had built over that time. I know you're going to be writing down notes. I sure was. So much good information shared if you own a business. You're going to really find this helpful. Enjoy.

Liam shares with us this insight:

“Like literally, we weren't selling anything. People were asking us like - Hey, can you help me with my my LinkedIn strategy? I was like - No, I don't have anything like that. I'm not. I don't even want to do that like I'm not the expert. Go speak to this guy over here. So this system was built to build your authority and get people reaching out to you versus you trying to push something on to someone that doesn't want something. Like no one wants that. You want your business to be easy where there's just this in flow. A flood of people just requesting your services. Right? That's the dream. And that's literally what happened with this system that we built around - running a virtual event, making sure, I mean, we've been more strategic about this now. But we've been doing this for so long. But how do we create the journey during the event? So we really do showcase our expertise, build that rapport that trust with the audience. They get to experience what it's like to work with us. They want more of us so they're reaching out, or they're putting up their hand. And we do say that now like - Hey, we do have a next step for you. We can support you for longer than this 90-minute workshop or this multi-day conference. And, if you'd like to have that discussion, just you know, raise your hand now. Put a thumbs up or reply to this email and put a comment Yes. And we'll reach out to you and we can book in a time to have a further discussion of what it's like to actually work together to help you get more results.”

Liam Austin is the co-founder of Entrepreneurs HQ and a virtual event strategist, having launched over 15 virtual summits, dozens of quick workshops, and many more online events, hosting over 400 speakers whilst educating 100,000+ business owners through his programs. Virtual Events That Sell is his 6-week implementation program which makes it easy for you to create your own high impact virtual events, from workshops and masterminds to summits and conferences, with the end goal of selling more of your high-ticket offer (includes how to blueprint, validate and sell your new program.) Liam is also the creator of the Million Dollar Virtual Summit Program, where he partners with select clients to generate seven figures.

  • Today, I'm interviewing Dr. Rachel Gainsbrugh. Rachel is a specialist in luxury short-term rentals. We're talking about her journey of being a pharmacist and starting to invest in real estate. And ultimately realizing that she loved it and wanted to spend more time doing it. She has left her full-time position and does consulting now in the pharmaceutical world. And she focuses on these luxurious short-term rentals, teaching people how to do the same. Such a fun conversation. I know you're going to take away a lot especially if you're interested in someday having a short-term rental or maybe you already do. I have learned so many things from this great conversation. Enjoy.

Dr. Rachel shares with us her insights:

I think as healthcare professionals, we sometimes get the shorter end of the stick right. Everyone's like - 'Oh, she's so fancy. She's got all this money coming in'. But they don't see the fourteen hours work, the night shift, the moonlighting, the missing out on family milestones. And I knew there has to be another way other than just working more shifts and working more shifts like there are no more shifts left for not to work awhile, you know. There's not enough dollars, you know; hours to trade for, you know, dollars, not hours. And so that's really where it all started, and me wanting to just cut back a little bit right. You don't go into medicine to walk away from medicine; wanted to cut back; wanted to schedule life on my own terms; work the date that I wanted to work. And I wanted to not buy another job. So the business that I selected to go into and I went all in. It was short-term rental investing, specifically - luxury short-term rental investing. And it doesn't have to, you know, cost an arm and a leg to go luxury, and we can talk about that. But the reason I want luxury is, I felt as though the numbers made sense. I can get a bigger bang for my buck. We just have to manage less right. Less is more. So, I wanted to take it a little bit on a minimalistic approach. I didn't want to manage, you know, twenty doors or a whole bunch of tenants. I said - 'Well, what if I just got one? What if I just got two?'. And we did wrote a portfolio with the systems and the health, you know. We got up to twenty two. We're down to eighteen. For us, you know, anything around five or six is more than enough right. And so less is more for me for sure. But that's really why I went into luxury short-term rental investing out of all of the real estate strategies out there. Absolutely. And you know, the flow or lack there of that I was afraid of, or I was anticipating. Well, you know, well that steady, wonderful, cushiony golden handcuffs paycheck is not going to come in. I was able to more than four X my income, my annual income in just a short amount of time, you know. So, from focusing on multiple things, I was able to get laser focus and look at some gaps, rearranged some things both in the real estate portfolio as well as in the coaching. And it was really never about the money. It was definitely a mindset in my situation. And I'm just in awe. I'm still in awe because there's so much pleasure that comes out of that teaching and really helping others who are medical professionals burnt out like I was, you know. Get that breakthrough right? And what happens when they get that breakthrough? They tell their friends -'Hey, Rachel, you know, is on to something, and you know membership, you know growth and just being able to pour into that community. That's first and foremost, you know, my goal. And you know, money flows. The more people you help, the more money comes in. Absolutely, absolutely. And even as I was still thinking about her, even as I was telling her - 'Okay, that was an anomaly. What I told her, and I see the text because I just reviewed it, because, you know, 8K. Maybe 10K. 16K. That was anomaly. Well, she did it again, and then she did - 'Oh my goodness!'. Even with the attitude of abundance that I try to push for, I still have my own limiting belief, and I just sat back. And I was like, you know what, let me sit down and be quiet because here I am with like a thimble XL, right? But it was blowing in. So you're absolutely right, Leisa. Oh, my goodness! And I always pray, and that's something that I'm really passionate about. Because initially, like you said, I thought - 'Oh, maybe this is... I shouldn't tell people about this because these numbers seem outrageous, right? And the reason I do tell the shore is I want to inspire. And I want others to have even better deals than I could ever dream of. And I tell myself, I pray that you have better deals that I could ever hope for. And when they come back and they're showing me deals like - 'Yes, yes, yes, yes, and I love to showcase that because it's not just a Rachel thing, you know. Even I was thinking - 'Oh, maybe this isn't just a Rachel thing, because this is weird. But it's out there. It really is.

Born in Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, Dr. Rachel was driven to make a difference and not take her parents' sacrifices for granted. She was raised in the inner-city of Miami where she worked hard, got straight A’s and went on to get her doctorate. Unfortunately, financial literacy was not part of the curriculum—and she graduated with a whopping $500,000 in student loan debt. She struggled, burned the candle at both ends, worked multiple extra hospital shifts to pay it off… until she discovered real estate and digital courses.

Fast forward to now, Dr. Rachel is a semi-retired pharmacist, Luxury AirBNB Real Estate Investor, Educator, Public Speaker, Podcast Host, Course Creator, Coach, and a mom to two boys 24/7! She’s also a newly minted best-selling contributing author & filmed for a Netflix TV show highlighting her property (air date and show name TBD—so stay tuned for updates!)

Rachel is “all-in” on short-term rentals because it helped her husband to retire at 46 from a stressful psychotherapy practice. And now she’s semi-retired from pharmacy at 41! She believes that no other real estate strategy would have afforded her this early and abundant exit. But what excites her the most is the 47 medical professionals she’s helped ditch burnout by launching their VERY own profit-generating luxury short-term rental. And that number will only continue to go up!

She runs a concierge coaching program, powered by her digital course, The Luxury Short-Term Rental Academy, designed to help medical professionals grow their investments by adding just ONE luxury short-term rental to their portfolio. Her approach is contrary to most real-estate coaching “gurus”—Rachel teaches her students how to own and operate the FEWEST number of properties to generate the HIGHEST profitability. She reveals how to accomplish this in less than 4 hours a week so they can have the time, freedom and financial stability to live life on their own terms, however that looks like for them!

Ultimately, Dr. Rachel’s mission is to impact the financial wellness of over 1M women in healthcare so that they can thrive in their personal life while taking their patient care to incredible new heights.

  • I'm so happy to introduce you to my guest, Lisa Bloom. Over the last 15 years, Lisa has created her company out of a simple idea. The idea that stories are powerful. They are possibly the most powerful form of influence and persuasion ever. Today, we're talking about mastering the art of storytelling in your business, in your life, how that can show up in ways that it can help you to make a bigger impact to close more sales, to develop trust and so much more. I know you're going to enjoy this conversation. And I can't wait to hear your takeaways. Enjoy.

Lisa shares with us her insights:

Suddenly they began to open up; and they began to talk; and they began to actually interact and meet my eye. Meet each other's eye. Laugh. And suddenly we could open up a conversation because the story bridged the gap plus created trust in me. I was a human being. I was a real person. I had the same challenges and the same experiences that they had when suddenly they trusted me. They were open, and you know, they opened up, and I can tell you it was one of the training experiences that they told me later that they never forgot. And it wasn't because of what I taught them. It was because of the stories and I saw this happen again and again and again. And so, as we run our own businesses whenever you want to create engagement, whenever you want to build trust, you know, one of the most effective ways to do that is through story. And while you're doing that you're creating credibility and you're giving them your history. And that you're giving them your all the highlights of your career. Like you don't have to say, you don't have to list off your resume. You just tell a story, and they understand... And I have come to see. Yes, there are a very small percentage of people who are, you know, born storytellers. But, like the people who are great at telling jokes, they don't have to try. They just got this humor, you know, there are people like that. But it's not the majority by far. But what I have seen is that everybody's telling stories all the time. It's what happens around the dinner table. It's what happens in meetings. It's what happens in any social environment. We're naturally storytelling animals. That's what we do and so much so that there's now a lot of neuroscience to talk about the impact of story and how it affects us. And you know, we are as a species, we're trying to make meaning all the time. And one of the ways we do that is through story. I had a challenge many years ago when I was starting out. I had a marketing coach who said to me - 'Lisa, if you want to build an audience, you need to tell a story every week in a block and send it out to your audience'. And my first reaction was my life isn't that interesting like where am I going to find this story every single week. That's insane. And she just said - 'I trust you. I think it'll be fine. Go for it'. And I did. And for ten years religiously, on a Tuesday, I would send out a story to my list. And I built a list of thousands and thousands of people. The main way I built my list was through telling stories once a week for ten years. I found the stories and it wasn't that my life suddenly got more interesting. It was just that I was able to take stock of these moments where something happened that made me feel something. And there's a story in there and we all have these moments. So it's about learning to become aware of them; learning to share them. And of course, there's art in the art of storytelling. Of course. We become better, but we become better as we practice. You learn the skills, and then you apply it in your business. You apply it to every part of your business because wherever there's a story, it's going to be more engaging, and it's going to be more memorable. So I always believed in that. And then it was a matter of figuring out- 'Okay, well, how do I turn it into a business? And how do I make it pay me what I need it to pay me. And how do I take the next step when things go wrong and I'm all alone. Then nobody gets what I'm doing because you know that's the case for most entrepreneurs. You're very much in love with that. And how do I, kind of step by step, find the kindred spirits that I can share this with them, that I could talk to? And how do I find the clients that are willing to pay me? And how do I, you know, I had to figure all that stuff out. But I kept going because I think I just believed in it. I always believed in possibility. Maybe, I'm a kind of an optimist and a hopeful person in my nature. But that's not to say it hasn't been difficult. There were times where I was literally on the floor - 'I think I just can't do this anymore. This is so hard, so hard it didn't work'. Whatever it was I was trying to do. And then somebody would offer a hand. Somebody would suggest - 'Well, why don't we look at what happened and see if we can fix it, or why don't I share something with my audience'. Or, there was always somebody who helped lift me up, who guided me, who I was willing to kind of surrender and say - 'Okay, I'll just try this thing because I don't know what else to do'... Well, I guess first and foremost, I've become a role model to my sons. You know I always thought I would have daughters. I was always this, you know, big feminists thinking I would bring up this great strong women. And I ended up with four sons. And so becoming a business owner or a successful business owner, and I think I'm a fantastic role model for them. So they see women who can do that, who can really find something they're passionate about, and that they love and want to be successful. So I think that's probably the first thing that comes to my mind when you say who I've become. But I also, I've become very, quite driven. I mean, maybe I was always driven. But I think, driven in terms of I know there are things I can do that I want to do. And the more the business grows, the more I'm able to do it...

  • I'm so happy to share this conversation about overcoming defensiveness with Lisa Merlo-Booth. I’ve had the good fortune to work with Lisa and help her in her business and last spring I offered to help her with a workshop she was hosting. During the middle of this workshop I had a breakthrough that I actually needed this class and we’re talking about what I learned about myself. Lisa is a relationship coach and a specialist in helping improve communication between partners. Her work has improved my life so much and I really wanted her to come and talk about it for everyone to learn how it could perhaps improve your life too. Enjoy.

Lisa shares with us her insights:

You can change. You have to be willing to look at yourself. And most people are looking at the other people in their life, and saying - 'Look, if you didn't yell at me, I wouldn't cower. Or if you weren't, you know, controlling me all the time, I wouldn't yell. And so they're constantly trying to get the other person to change which is where they have zero power. And so, once they realize- 'Okay, wait a second'. I have a saying - Changing me changes we. So changing me will change your marriage; changing me, will change your children; changing me will change your life right? And what people do, though, is they want to change the other person thinking if you would stop doing ... we would be okay. And I wouldn't have to do what I'm doing. Right? So you just stop, and then it'll fix us. First off, you could wait till hell freezes over before they decide they want to stop. Right and that's a lot of wasted years. And two, you can't make them do anything. And so, once people realize where their power is and they start focusing in the right place that their change can really happen quick. So if you're unhappy in some situation, you have the power to change it. I have a saying - You are one hundred percent responsible for the life you create; the life you allow; or the life you sabotage. So what are you doing? If you have this vision, I want us to be a great family, a great couple. I want my business to be wonderful. You know, run smoothly. What are you doing? What are you allowing that is going against that vision. Or, what are you doing that is actively sabotaging that vision? You have control of all that. So I don't know, you know, it's funny. I struggled with defensiveness for a long time. And as I worked through it and got better, I don't know if this is, if you are feeling this at all. But right now, like now, it is so freeing to be like - 'Oh, my gosh, my bad! I'm so sorry'. It's like I just feel it's like oxygen and I don't feel that like toxic shame. I'm just like, you know, like - 'Oh, I screwed it up again. Oh, my gosh! I promise I'm going to fix this like and it feels lighter to me. And my family can talk to me and like - 'Yeah, it's just such a, I don't know. It's like a weight gets lifted because you have the template. You know how to do it, and you also, I don't know, you just start to realize - 'Oh, everybody screws up.' It's like the human condition. You absolutely cannot not screw up. And that's not the problem actually. You're screwing up isn't the problem. The problem is doubling down on that and pretending you didn't screw up or not having the conversation, because you don't want it. So then, it just goes underground and becomes a bigger mess up. But as far as like humanity and relationships and jobs, I got news for you. You are going to screw up so much, so much. And to be able to say like - 'You're right. I really mess that up. It's so freeing'. It actually brings you closer. It's more intimate. It's crazy. It's like - 'Oh, yeah, I hurt you.' And then, they're like - 'Oh, I feel so loving towards you right now.' It's like a crazy irony, you know. And of course, you know there's a whole way of doing it. But it truly is like when you know your partner is able to, or best friend or mom, or whoever they're able to hear the feedback, own it like, own their piece, without any blame or anything else. You genuinely. You feel heard. You feel closer. And you're like - 'Oh, wow!'. And by the way, they look tougher, stronger. It's just so much more capable. And you're like - 'Oh, they can handle it.' Oh, no, I can say that to my mom. She's got this yeah, instead of them protecting you by not saying it. It's a crazy irony. But you actually it feels more intimate when you're able to find the courage to own your actions than it does to deny them. Everywhere. But I can't think of a place where there isn't natural conflict. That's the other thing like natural. We're human beings. We make mistakes. The moment you make a mistake; the moment you hurt somebody; the moment, you say you're going to pick up the milk and you don't. You say you're going to be at work on time, and you're not at work on time. That's an issue that needs to be addressed. And you're human. Those issues are going to come up. I don't care who you are. I don't care how amazing you are, you still can't be perfect. And so you know we need instead of running from conflict, we need to go into it, and then we'll walk through it and feel better because of it. But our world does not see it as that at all. We, many people see feedback as an attack, right? And oh, my goodness, think of the freedom you would have and feel if you saw, I say feedback as a gift. If you literally saw feedback as oxygen to help you grow, and like was, and you know, encouraged it. It's just life changing.

  • Today, I'm interviewing Samantha Riley. She's an authority positioning strategist, author, speaker, host of Influence by Design podcast. And, she's built multiple businesses over the past 28 years. Today, we're talking about Human Design and how that fits in to the coaching business she's built. It's a super fun conversation. You've heard me talk about Human Design before in the past. It's something I have found a lot of enjoyment with. It helped me understand myself better as an entrepreneur, as a leader, things that really took the pressure of off me. I'm a generator which means that I create ideas differently than manifesting generators and what was really funny is that Samantha is a generator as well. So, we're going to be talking about our experiences with Human Design as coaches, as business-coaches and so much more. Enjoy.

Samantha shares with us her insights:

People strategy and authority. So strategy is the way that they're designed to respond to the world. So the way that this plays out for people is understanding, maybe, how they marketing or maybe how they're attracting all sorts of opportunities into their world so that would be one piece. And the authority which is the way that we're designed to make decisions. And, this has a profound impact on a lot of people as well because we're taught through, you know, from the time that we're born that we make decisions by thinking where we're using our brains to work through a process. But we're actually designed to make decisions from the neck down. We're designed to feel the decisions. And this is a really different dynamic to, you know, what we've been taught. And this is certainly had an impact in the way that I do business because as a pure generator, I get this message in my sacral. This just happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I had someone on the phone, who was an emotional authority. We had a very quick conversation. She went- 'yep, let's see I want to work with you'. And I went - 'you know what I said, I know that we're going to be amazing together, but I actually want you to go and think about. I'm going to touch base with you again tomorrow. She went - 'But why?' And I went - 'because I feel really confident that I can help you. I know that you're going to get amazing results with me, but I want you to feel comfortable with that decision.' And, she actually she did sign up and she messaged me the next day and just went - 'I just felt so good in knowing that I had. I was empowered to make that decision and I felt comfortable.' And she was brand new to human design, so I hadn't experienced that before and instead of having this relationship that started off with a lot of friction. It meant that we started off a relationship with a lot of trust and a lot of confidence. And it makes so much difference when you can start working with a client in that way. I really do think it's worth looking into human design. So that you can start to understand where the friction points are. When you understand, you know what you're here designed to do, how you're designed to interact with the world. It makes a lot easier and what it does, when you know these things it gives you the confidence. And as business owners people buy confidence. So when you know what those pieces are, energetically, it just aligns. And people will suddenly be attracted to you or they will start to search you out rather than you trying on other people's strategies or the way that they do things on. And go through this trial and error of - 'I did that and it didn't work and I did that and it didn't work'. Just to really understand the way you're designed so that you can start to be unapologetically who you are meant to be because there are not two of us on the planet that's the same. So, yet we still try and do things like other people. So to really lean into who you are and just really embrace that and embrace the difference, rather than get frustrated with the difference.

Samantha Riley is an authority positioning strategist, best selling author, speaker, host of the Influence By Design podcast. She has built multiple businesses over the past 28 years, and grew her first 7-figure business from the ground up before she was 30. Samantha now works with experts and change makers to become the unapologetic leader in their industry, and build their elegant empire.

  • Today, I'm interviewing my good friend, past client Molly Rose Speed. She is someone who knows everything you could hope to know being a VA; hiring a VA. She actually does many different things in her business. She has the ability to teach you if you want to become a VA. She can take you down the path of not just getting started but also having clients in like less than a month. She talks about that. Amazing! She also talks about what we want to be thinking about when we hire a VA as a business owner. What should you know when you hire a VA? If it's not working out, how do you shift and pivot? What can you do to prepare yourself to make sure that the VA that you have is totally showing up in the way you most need help. I love Molly Rose Speed. I'm so excited for you to dive into this conversation and take lots away. Enjoy.

Molly shares with us her insights:

And then, I'm also going to trust your gut. That's super important when you're hiring at all times and also have have that trial period with them. Get to know them. Give them, if you're working on like a major launch probably don't give them something really heavy like that. Start small and get to know them. And then, build that trust and make sure that their execution is going well. And lastly, regarding follow through, I think communication is key in any relationship. But especially, when you're working virtually in this assistant business owner role. So, by having those Monday check-ins where you're both on the same page… And it's amazing the different types of people that want those different types of interaction. So, we asked all those questions. So as a business owner, it's super important to be clear before you hire. You know what, not only what skillsets do they need to have and what tasks are you going to ask of them on a regular basis, and what software do they need to know. But really think about the type of person that you want, as what I call a partner in your business that's going to come in and love your business, just as you do. Hopefully, if you place the right person there. First of all, it is, by far, in my opinion, the most flexible job on the planet where you can set your own rate. You can work what hours you want. Unless you get a client that needs you from eight to five or you have to be on these certain calls, you know, you work that out. But it's so great, you know stay at home moms love this. Military spouses. I do have a lot of side hustlers so you can literally plug in from six to ten in the morning. Do your thing from ten to two. And then, pick the kids up and have your night or work after dinner. I mean it's so flexible. You can do project work too, if you're just trying to fill in the gaps, eventually, once you kind of learn things. So, that is extremely doable if you're trying to build your own business and want to have some income coming in, on the side… ...Yeah and just to put this into my own personal perspective, you know I shared my story. I started I didn't know and so I left. I mean, you know this personally, I left hundred thousands of dollars on the table by not knowing my worth; by not knowing how to charge right; by not having the right contracts in place; not offering the services, I actually really wanted to offer. I did a lot of work, I didn't want to do because I just took what I could. So, there was a lot of pain in growth going at the beginning. And if I had had something like this and that's why I created it, it would just have been all ready to go. Here we go! I'm a professional certified virtual assistant. And here's my one sheet; and here's how you can hire me; and here's my contract. Just all done in a matter of weeks, and would have saved years of time, stress and wondering and money, money...

Molly Rose Speed is an expert in creating what everyone wants more of -- time freedom. Through her methods of intelligent systems, automation, and outsourcing, you’ll experience another 10-15 hours per week of freedom and flexibility.

As the founder of Virtual Assistant Management which provides trusted Virtual Assistant solutions and flawless tech execution for busy entrepreneurs, Molly Rose is the go-to professional for some of the most successful entrepreneurs and leaders in the financial and personal development industries.

  • Today, I'm so pleased to be introducing you to Dr. Maria Nemeth. Dr. Maria is a leading expert in leadership excellence, in professional, personal development, and financial empowerment. Her work has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show and Inc Magazine. She's the Founder & Director of the Academy for Coaching Excellence and she's the Author of the highly-acclaimed book, The Energy of Money: A Spiritual Guide to Financial and Personal Fulfillment. I walked away from this conversation inspired, knowing that, you know, we're each on our own path but there are always people we can be learning from and Dr. Maria is one of those people. It's such a fun conversation. I can't wait to hear what you takeaways from it. Enjoy.

Dr. Maria shares with us her beautiful insights:

I thought about it and thought about it and read some other spiritual books. And I was able to distill it down into these four words. The last three are - 'I am willing'. 'I am willing', you see. You can be willing to do something you don't know how to do. You can be willing to do something that you're afraid to do. You can be willing to do something that bores you to do. But 'I am willing' takes you up above the worries, doubts, fears, thoughts, feelings, attitudes of states of mind and points of view. It takes us all above that. And the first word to put in before those three is 'nevertheless'. 'Nevertheless, I am willing' are the four most powerful words, you can utter. Nevertheless, means don't take anything away, nevertheless. And if you were to write down these four words, don't type them on a computer and then print them out. No, no, no. In your handwriting - 'Nevertheless, I am willing'. And put it, where your brain can see it every day for at least the next 30 days every day. Everyday. And I could go, I could tell you why, if we had three hours. Why want to keep in front of your brain but suffice it to say your brain will start recognizing this and you'll find that you're taking it in. So that when you're faced with a money problem. And you say, I'm just too guilty to face it. You say - 'Nevertheless I'm willing'. Because I'm interested, more interested in my dreams than my drama. So that's just the bottom line of what I would say. For all of us who have these money worries. So these three factors - taking energy, change, and unpredictability, those are the three attributes of a good game. I mean, think of a tennis, football, poker. Energy. Change. Unpredictability. And the most important thing for us to do is know that this is going to happen. See, one of the things that happens with entrepreneurs is they start opening a business and they hit an obstacle, and the first thing they'll say is 'this wasn't meant to be'. No, that's not true.
