  • In this episode of the "Mom Keys to Mental Peace Podcast," we continue our journey into what it means to parent from a healed place. Healing isn’t about being perfect; it’s about embracing growth, self-awareness, and creating a healthy environment for your children. Part two focuses on the unique parenting styles we develop, how they differ from our own childhood experiences, and the importance of practicing self-care while nurturing our families.

We explore how every family dynamic is different, and that we have the freedom to parent in ways that suit our children’s individual needs rather than simply replicating the methods we grew up with. We’ll also discuss the value of practicing self-care and seeking support, reminding moms that it’s okay to prioritize themselves alongside family care. Building a village, forming mom friendships, and making time for what brings you joy are key steps in maintaining a balanced, healthy mindset.

Another vital element of healed parenting is modeling healthy relationships and communication. Our children watch and learn from how we treat others—whether it’s showing respect, practicing empathy, or resolving conflicts constructively. This episode also sheds light on the difference between overreacting and balanced parenting, and how to stay calm and intentional even in challenging situations.

As we continue this series, remember that parenting from a healed place is an ongoing journey. It’s okay to learn and grow alongside your children, creating new, healthier generational patterns that they can carry into their future families.

Tune in for practical insights, inspiration, and encouragement on your journey toward intentional and healed parenting.

  • In this episode of the "Mom Keys to Mental Peace Podcast," we begin a two-part series exploring what it means to parent from a healed place. Healing doesn’t mean perfection; instead, it’s about acknowledging past wounds, understanding the impact of generational patterns, and making intentional choices to create healthier experiences for our children. Just as a scar represents the journey of healing, our parenting can reflect growth and resilience, even if it's not flawless.

Many millennial parents are on this journey, equipped with more resources, therapy, and open conversations about the unhealthy parenting styles we may have experienced ourselves. We’re learning to see our parents as individuals with their own stories and challenges, which helps us better navigate our own roles as mothers and fathers. In this episode, we dive into the importance of recognizing and breaking free from generational cycles, understanding our emotional needs, and shifting from parenting out of lack or fear to a mindset of abundance and trust.

As we explore these themes, we reflect on how our emotional well-being directly impacts our children and how we can avoid projecting our unfulfilled desires onto them. By choosing to parent from a healed place, we not only transform our own lives but also set the stage for healthier generational patterns for our children and future generations. This episode is a call to reflect on your own journey and to take the first steps toward parenting with intention, love, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Join us as we unpack these layers and learn together how to create a nurturing and abundant environment for our families. Your path to healing and mental peace starts here.

  • In this heartfelt episode, I share a deeply personal journey of navigating a challenging season with my mother. I express immense gratitude for the outpouring of support and encouragement I received, reflecting on how God’s principle of sowing and reaping (Galatians 6:7) goes beyond material blessings—it’s about the kindness and compassion we extend to others.

Through this experience, I have been blessed with comforting words, scriptures, and prayers from friends and family who felt led to reach out. I felt seen by God, not through tangible gifts, but through the love and encouragement of those around me.

This episode dives into the difficult decisions made for my mother’s care, including our decision to take her back to the gentleman she had been living with, as we struggled to provide the right resources for her mental health and living situation. I walk you through the ups and downs of seeking help—from mental health evaluations to navigating complex family dynamics—all while trusting God’s timing and guidance.

As I grappled with these tough choices, I found peace in realizing that stepping away doesn’t mean giving up; it means recognizing my limitations and trusting God to fill the gaps. Sometimes, making the right decision for your own well-being is the bravest and most faithful thing you can do.

In this episode, I also share key principles for making peaceful exits and stepping away from difficult situations, supported by scripture:

    - Pray for wisdom and guidance** (James 1:5)

    - Set healthy boundaries** (Proverbs 22:3)

    - Recognize when a situation is toxic or harmful** (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)

    - Trust in God’s sovereignty and control** (Romans 8:28)

    - Prioritize your own well-being** (Matthew 10:31)

We explore the importance of trusting God with your life and understanding that prioritizing your well-being is not selfish—it’s a way to honor God and live a healthy, joyful life. Feeling sad after making a tough decision doesn’t mean you made the wrong choice. Sometimes, stepping away is an act of faith, entrusting your burdens and loved ones to God’s care.

Join me as we navigate the complexities of knowing when to let go and embrace God’s peace in the process.

  • In this deeply personal audio journal entry, I open up about a challenging weekend spent caring for my mother during a mental health crisis. This episode is a raw and honest reflection on the emotional toll of confronting my mother wounds, the struggle to stay grounded in faith, and the weight of my responsibilities. I share the strategies I leaned on to cope with the overwhelming emotions, including a vulnerable post on Facebook that led to an outpouring of support from friends and family.

In this episode, I discuss the importance of asking others to genuinely intercede on my behalf rather than just saying "I'll pray for you" without actually doing it. I also delve into my study of Genesis 18, where God promises a child to Abraham and Sarah, reminding us that nothing is too hard for Him.

This season feels like a test of faith, and I'm doing my best to navigate it with grace, acknowledging both my feelings and the reality of my situation. Join me as I process this experience and explore how to maintain faith and resilience during life's most challenging moments.

We begin by unpacking the verse, discussing what it means to "strip off every weight that slows us down," whether it's distractions, doubts, or habitual sin. Just as runners wear minimal clothing to improve their speed, we're called to shed the spiritual and emotional burdens that hinder our progress.

But there's hope! Through Jesus Christ, we have the power to lay aside these weights and run our race with endurance. We'll explore practical steps to repent and turn away from sin, aligning our lives with God's truth. Whether it's reading Scripture, seeking accountability, or simply asking God to make us willing to change, there are ways to break free from strongholds and live a life marked by spiritual victory.

Join us as we reflect on how to throw off everything that hinders and run with perseverance the race marked out for us. You'll be encouraged to examine your own life, identify the weights holding you back, and take actionable steps toward lasting change.

  • In this weeks episode of Mom Keys to Mental Peace, we dive deep into the concept of consequences and how our decisions, both big and small, can lead to significant outcomes. Whether positive or negative, the choices we make today shape our future in ways we may not always foresee. Through real-life examples and powerful biblical stories, like those of Adam and Eve, Moses, and Esau, we explore how impulsive decisions can have lasting impacts.

We take a closer look at the story of Esau, a man who, driven by immediate desires, traded his birthright for a mere bowl of stew. This decision, made without consideration for the long-term consequences, serves as a poignant lesson for us all. What are we willing to trade for temporary satisfaction? How often do we prioritize short-term gains over long-term blessings?

Join us as we reflect on the importance of slowing down, considering the long-term effects of our decisions, and understanding that while God’s grace is abundant, we are still accountable for our actions. Are you making decisions that align with your long-term goals, or are you caught in the trap of immediate gratification? Tune in to explore these questions and more.

Listen now to learn how to make more intentional, thoughtful decisions that align with your values and your future.

  • ***CORRECTION***

At the beginning of the episode I stated that it took the Israelites 40 years to travel a 40 day trip. That is incorrect. It was supposed to take them 11 days. Please read Deuteronomy for reference. Please forgive me for this error. Thank you.

In this compelling episode of Mom Keys to Mental Peace, we dive deep into the profound message of God's grace and the audacity of taking it for granted. We start by exploring the Gospel, the good news of God's unmerited favor, and how grace is an essential character trait of God. Romans 3:9-20 reminds us that all people are sinners, guilty of breaking God's holy law, yet Romans 5:8 shows us that God demonstrates His great love by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

We then confront a challenging reality—how sometimes, instead of responding to grace with gratitude and surrender, we exploit it. Through personal reflections and relatable analogies, we discuss how easy it is to fall into the trap of sinning with the expectation of God's forgiveness, and how this mirrors the behavior of a spoiled child taking advantage of a generous parent.

We delve into Nehemiah Chapters 8-9, showcasing a vivid example of how God's people took His grace for granted, and their heartfelt repentance once they realized their error. We reflect on the importance of spiritual restoration and obedience to God's law, emphasizing how genuine transformation starts with recognizing our sinful nature and our desperate need for God's grace.

Join us as we unpack the profound lessons from Scripture, encourage self-reflection, and highlight the importance of humility, repentance, and the continual appreciation of God's unending grace. This episode is a call to action to not take God's grace lightly but to live a life that honors the immense sacrifice and love He has shown us.

Don't forget to check out previous episodes "The Gift of Salvation" and "The Good News" for more on this vital topic. Listen in and be inspired to embrace grace with a heart full of gratitude and a life marked by genuine repentance.

  • Welcome to our Vacation Bible School Series, where we delve into the theme of spiritual maturity and eternal perspective.

In this series, we’ll tackle profound and necessary topics designed to challenge our spiritual growth—what Paul describes as moving from milk to solid food in our faith journey (1 Corinthians 3:1-2). These discussions aren't meant to judge or shame but to encourage self-reflection, repentance, and a closer walk with God.

We'll kick off with an introduction to eternity, a concept that can be both daunting and inspiring. We'll discuss our thoughts on eternal life and how our decisions in this finite world impact our everlasting future. Through Scripture and personal stories, we'll explore three critical aspects of eternity:

Eternal Impact of Our Decisions: Inspired by John Bevere’s “The Awe of God,” we’ll consider how our choices now shape our eternal reality.Storing Treasures in Heaven: We'll examine where we store our treasures and how our earthly and heavenly investments reveal the desires of our hearts (Matthew 6:19-21).Giving Up Our Lives to Save Them: Jesus’ call to discipleship invites us to surrender our lives for His sake, discovering our true purpose and eternal rewards in the process (Matthew 16:24-27).

Reflect with us on the eternal implications of your lifestyle choices and how they align with Jesus’ teachings. Join us as we strive to glorify God, deepen our spiritual understanding, and equip ourselves to share His message with others, fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).

Tune in for a journey that promises to challenge and inspire, guiding us all toward a deeper, more intentional faith.

  • In this episode, we delve into the powerful concept of collaboration and its transformative impact on our lives. Since 2020, God has graciously provided me with an anchor word each year, and in 2021, that word was "collaboration." Defined as working jointly with others, collaboration has profoundly shaped my journey in various areas, from marriage and business to faith and personal growth.

We'll explore how being a part of a community or partnership is crucial for success and growth.

We’ll discuss the biblical foundation for collaboration, emphasizing that "Two people are better than one, for they can help each other succeed" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12). This principle underscores the importance of community in overcoming challenges and achieving success.

Additionally, we’ll cover practical steps for building a supportive community:

    - Finding Like-Minded Women: The mindset of your circle matters, as it influences your behavior and growth.

    - Evaluating Your Circle: Positive peer pressure and healthy competition can drive you towards your goals.

    - Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone: Growth often requires us to move beyond our comfort zones and embrace change.

    - Celebrating Other Women: Overcoming jealousy and comparison to support and celebrate each other’s successes.

Tune in to learn how to connect with other millennial moms, build a supportive community, and unlock the power of collaboration in your life. Together, we can navigate the challenges of life, faith, and personal growth, uplifting each other to reach our highest potential.

  • In this episode, we delve into the delicate balance between instilling godly values in our children while navigating a secular world. The contrast between being devoutly religious and embracing secular attitudes is a challenge for many parents today, myself included.

We explore personal experiences and societal trends, like the shift away from traditional church attendance among millennials and the omnipresence of media influencing our children's beliefs and behaviors.

Drawing from Proverbs 22:6, we outline four essential strategies to guide our children towards a godly path:

Lead by Example: We discuss the importance of modeling integrity, dependence on God, and imperfect humanity to our children. Our actions often speak louder than our words, shaping their perceptions and values.Individualized Guidance: Recognizing the uniqueness of each child, we emphasize the significance of discerning their paths and nurturing their distinct gifts and inclinations. By empowering children to make informed decisions aligned with their faith, we cultivate a lasting connection to God.Respect and Discipline: Exploring Ephesians 6:1-4, we highlight the reciprocal responsibilities between parents and children. Upholding authority with gentleness and love, while fostering obedience and honor, lays the foundation for harmonious relationships and spiritual growth.Loving Correction: Drawing parallels from Hebrews 12:5-11, we reframe discipline as an expression of divine love, essential for character development and spiritual maturity. Embracing correction, however uncomfortable, nurtures a peaceful harvest of righteousness.

In the reflection segment, we encourage listeners to assess their parenting approaches and commit to intentional guidance, training, and equipping of their children for a godly life.

Join us as we navigate the complexities of parenthood, striving to raise children who embrace faith in an increasingly secular world.
