Hafsa Mohamed Luqmaan, a 23-year-old Somali girl who went missing in Nairobi's Eastleigh neighborhood has been rescued by police in Kayole.
Hafsa, who lived in the California Estate area of Nairobi, was abducted on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.
She was rescued from a deserted house in Matopeni in Nairobi's Kayole slum, where she was forced into a water tank.
Hafsa went missing from a shoe shop in Eastleigh five days ago, as her captors demanded a ransom of 5 million Kenyan shillings ($46,000).

The family of Somali-American businessman Mohamed Bashir Mohamoud whose body found at a Kerugoya hospital has denied he was involved in fake currency trade.
Bashir’s body was found on Saturday last week on the banks of River Nyamidi in Kirinyaga County. It had deep panga cut wounds in the head and two bullet wounds on the head. Blood was also oozing from the mouth and nose.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo spoke to the Somali parliament today in order to reverse the recent two year extension for his presidency. The U-turn arrives after opposition, international community and the public rejected the extension and forcing military to return from their barracks and to back the opposition in the capital to protest what they deem as "illegal extension." Violence erupted with at least 100,000 people displaced (according to the UN) from Mogadishu. The president addressed the nation and handed over election duties to his Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Rooble. AUDIO IN AF SOMALI.
