Where to start with this episode? Joe McGrath is MANY things, he’s a DJ, a presenter, an actor(!), and a true chicken wing enthusiast.
While Joe is the archetypal funny man - witty, quick, dry - this episode does touch on some truly life-changing moments for Joe. In particular, his first-time presenting in the aftermath of the horrific Manchester Arena attacks.
Joe is a fantastic example of what graft and knowing how to make a good cup of tea can do for your career.
We cover a lot in this episode, from what makes the perfect chicken wing to the time Joe and his fiancée lost her engagement on a beach moments after he proposed, all of which makes it a must-listen.

We grow up on stories as kids, from the tales our loved ones tell us to those found in books, they shape us. Yet, as we get older we become more cynical and forgot the power of storytelling, not valuing it as much as we once did. Caroline Dyer is not that person.
Caroline's story begins with a volunteering trip to Honduras with her then-boyfriend (who, after being there for two hours, got on the next flight home) for a number of weeks, it then goes via Gulliver's pub in Manchester's Northern Quarter and is currently at Heard Storytelling chapter. Heard is an organisation that's sole purpose is to help individuals and brands tell their stories. In this powerful conversation, Caroline walks us through her life up until now and, as you'd expect from someone who owns a storytelling business, ensures it is engaging, funny, and riveting.

Whether you know it for its Takeaway Champions or its On The Street feature, The Manc is one of Greater Manchester's most notable publications. Their recent, rapid success has a lot to do with their MD Anna Gledson, who is the guest on today's episode Never Mind The Keywords.
In this detailed chat, Tamara and Charlie talk about The Manc's rise and how it's risen to be so popular by leveraging all the benefits that the big five social media platforms have to offer. Anna also outlines how The Manc's success is largely down to their bottom-up approach to content creation and lets us know about how The Manc Group (The Manc's parent company) intends to branch out to other cities in the UK in the next 18 months.

As the Chief Commercial Officer for Northcoders, Amy Wild understands the value of learning coding and software development better than most. In this sixth episode of Never Mind The Keywords, Amy chats with Dylan and Nafisah about Northcoders the organisation, why coding can be such a freeing and lucrative career, and how Northcoders are helping to break down the race and gender barriers that have made this sector so white and male.
This episode is perfect for those who are interested in the freedom and financial incentives of coding but may feel daunted by the complex subject matter. Amy, in this interview, is fantastic at breaking it down and making the practice of coding and developing seem perfectly doable (because it really is), even for those with no base knowledge of this role.

There's a moment in this episode with motivational speaker Jack Nolan where talks about climbing the highest mountains and walking through the lowest of lows, and there probably isn't a more apt metaphor for his life so far. From being held at knifepoint as a teenager and being sectioned twice, to becoming a motivational speaker and twice published author, Jack has been there and seen it.
In this fifth episode of Never Mind The Keywords, Jack chats to Megan and Nafisah about his journey, writing, views on mental health in the UK, and motivational speaking. In the best possible way, a lot of what Jack says could be printed onto a poster and this episode is packed with fascinating stories - including the story of how he got his book into Waterstones. Listening to the full episode will leave you inspired and motivated.
