  • Tuesday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been recorded and edited, and is set to massage your earholes. On today's podcast, the guys previewed Game 3 between the Edmonton Oilers vs. Dallas Stars, Connor Brown's injury, Viktor Arvidsson, and more.

The guys kicked off the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about our favourite memories from the current playoff run. From the way the Oilers bounced back after two early losses against Los Angeles to dusting off the Vegas Golden Knights to Stuart Skinner looking better than anyone expected, there are plenty of fantastic storylines from the first 14 games. As you'll hear, everyone had different memories to share, and it was fun to re-live some of those memories.

Looking ahead to Game 4, the boys began the preview by examining what Viktor Arvidsson brings to the table as a replacement for the injured Connor Brown. Coles Notes: We need him to play like the Viktor Arvidsson who annoyed the Oilers for years as a King. We also walked through the new line combinations and discussed whether it makes sense to have McDavid and Draisaitl starting on the same line.

Finally, the fellas wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a run of betting talk for our friends at bet365, keys to victory vs. the Stars in Game 4, and offered a few reasons why everyone should believe the Oilers can get the job done for a second straight night on home ice. As you'll hear, the boys feel bullish about the Oilers' chances of getting the job done, but that'll only happen if they can bring the same effort that we saw earlier in the series, even with the win on Sunday afternoon.

  • Friday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to be enjoyed. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Edmonton Oilers' Game 1 loss, what they need to do to rebound in Game 2, the Carolina Hurricanes getting demolished, and much more.

We kicked off the Friday episode of the podcast with a delicious debate about whether the boys think Game 2 is a must-win situation for the Oilers. Teams that go up 2-0 in a best-of-seven playoff series have gone on to win that series 87.5 percent of the time in NHL history, so while it may not be a literal must-win game, it's hard to argue against it in the spiritual sense. Even so, the boys are all confident in Edmonton's ability to bounce back after a tough outing, considering how many times they've already done it.

Looking ahead to Game 2, we walked through some of the adjustments we'd like to see the team make to avoid repeating the same mistakes that led to Dallas scoring five unanswered goals. From the PK needing to be better to the boys needing to be more disciplined in general, we actually didn't have too many notes to offer, as 40 of the 60 minutes in Game 1 went incredibly well. Of course, no one cares about silver linings at this point in the season, but that didn't stop the boys from shedding some sun on the situation anyway.

Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week. After dropping Game 1 to Dallas in the worst possible way, the guys spent the bulk of the Friday episode talking about why we shouldn't be panicking over one loss, even if it was an ugly one.

Then Devan jumped into your questions! Dubey gave his thoughts on how equipment impacts a NHL goaltender, who is Dubey's favorite goalie in the NHL, how hard is it to play in Edmonton, how hard is it for a goalie after letting in a weak goal and what the Edmonton Oilers have to take a series lead over the Stars?

  • Tuesday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been recorded and edited and is set to massage your ear feelings. On the Tuesday edition of the podcast, the guys previewed the Edmonton Oilers vs. Dallas Stars rematch, Mattias Ekholm's nearing a return, Kris Knoblauch's line combination changes, and more.

The guys kicked off the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about how the Oilers matchup against the Dallas Stars. While many fans were nervous about the L.A. Kings and Vegas Golden Knights, a significant portion of the fan base is feeling very bullish about Round 3. Even though the Stars are a very strong hockey club, are Oilers fans feeling too confident about getting through to the Stanley Cup Final before a single game has even been played?

Sticking with the Western Conference Final preview, we looked ahead at what's to come in this year's rematch against the Dallas Stars. Starting with Mattias Ekholm returning to practice with the main group, and whether that move signals his return to the lineup. Given that he hasn't played in nearly two months, does it make sense to rush him back a little bit despite the rest of the club playing as well as they are?

Finally, the fellas wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a run of betting talk for our friends at bet365, keys to victory vs. the Stars, and offered a few reasons why everyone should believe the Oilers can get the job done for a second straight year in the WCF. As you'll hear, the boys feel bullish about the Oilers' chances of getting the job done, but that'll only happen if they can bring the same effort that saw them close out their first two rounds against L.A. and Vegas.

  • Friday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to be enjoyed. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed Edmonton's series win over Vegas, what to expect from the Western Conference Final, and much more.

The boys started the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about who everyone would prefer to face in the Western Conference Final if they could wave a magic wand and make it happen. Whether you think Edmonton has a better chance against Winnipeg or Dallas, there are angles you could run with for why the Oilers matchup against either team, but thinking about the next opponent was a fun debate.

Looking back at the week that was, we walked through the Oilers' performance, including their back-to-back shutouts against the Golden Knights, and how our side was able to strengthen as the series progressed. What stuck throughout the entire series, though, was Edmonton's ability to get goals at key moments from depth players at times when it mattered most. A perfect example was how Kasperi Kapanen sat out the first nine games of the playoffs before returning and making an immediate impact.

Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week. It's incredible how much things can change after those first two losses to L.A., isn't it? Especially when you remember that the Oilers were down 2-0 in the series at this same point only a week ago. Life comes at you fast, doesn't it?

  • Tuesday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been recorded and edited and is set to massage your ear feelings. On the Tuesday edition of the podcast, the guys discussed the Edmonton Oilers' stranglehold on the Golden Knights, Stuart Skinner's shutout, Kris Knoblauch's line combination changes, and more.

The guys kicked off the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about the Oilers' goaltending, and whether we would go back to Calvin Pickard when he gets healthy again or if Stuart Skinner's shutout is enough to give No. 74 another chance at a run. While there's no doubt that Calvin Pickard was fantastic in the six games he played, you can't discount how solid Skinner was in Game 4. But the question is whether one game was enough to turn the crease back over to Stuart Skinner.

Looking back at Game 4, we started the recap with a conversation about Evander Kane. The player has been exceptional since returning from injury, and being able to raise his level despite being out for 10 months is causing havoc for the Golden Knights. We also discussed Kris Knoblauch's lineup changes landing perfectly, as both Kasperi Kapanen and Troy Stecher made immediate impacts. Having both of those guys play as well as they did led to another secondary debate about whether they've done enough to stick in the lineup for Game 5.

Finally, the fellas wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a run of betting talk for our friends at bet365, keys to close out the series, and offered a few reasons why everyone should believe the Oilers can get the job done at T-Mobile in Game 5. As you'll hear, the boys feel bullish about the Oilers' chances of getting the job done, but that'll only happen if they can bring the same effort that saw them close out their first-round matchup against Los Angeles.

  • Friday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to be enjoyed. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed Edmonton's win over Los Angeles, what to expect from the Vegas Golden Knights, and much more.

The guys kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a random discussion about mascots before finally getting to our delicious debate for the week, which revolved around Nic Roy's cross-check to Trent Frederic's face. On Friday morning, the NHL DoPS announced that Roy would face a hearing later today. That prompted the boys to wonder whether he would be suspended for one game or if getting kicked out in overtime was enough of a punishment.

Changing gears, we examined what the Oilers need to do in Game 3 to ensure they maintain the momentum. While Edmonton managed to win Game 2, one can argue that the team was fortunate to pull out the victory, given the numerous mistakes made and the Golden Knights' strong performance. If they're going to kick off their games at home with another win, Edmonton will need to do a much better job on the small details of their game. Put another way, it would be really lovely if Calvin Pickard didn't have to bail the boys out as often as he has been.

Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week. • Tuesday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been recorded and edited and is set to massage your ear feelings. On the Tuesday edition of the podcast, the guys discussed the Edmonton Oilers' series comeback, what to expect from Game 1 vs. Vegas, Calvin Pickard getting the start, and much more.

The boys started the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Calvin Pickard starting Game 1 for the Oilers instead of going back to Stuart Skinner. Given that Calvin Pickard won the Oilers' last four games, it would make sense to give our pal Cal the net for Round 2, but that doesn't necessarily mean we won't see Skinner at any point in the series. While everyone agreed with Pickard getting the nod to start, everyone also saw a path where the team would go back to Skinner later in the series.

Looking ahead at the Oilers vs. Golden Knights, the guys walked through their series predictions for Round 2 and how the boys are all bullish on Edmonton's chances to get through Vegas. But if they're going to beat Vegas in this second round, a big step toward that goal has to be finding a way to win this first game. Unfortunately, the bad news about Game 1 is that the Oilers are only 3-10 in series openers in the Connor McDavid era, which led to a discussion about what they need to do to avoid going down 0-1 again.

Finally, the fellas wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a run of betting talk for our friends at bet365, keys to victory in Game 1, and offered a few reasons why everyone should believe the Oilers can exact revenge over Vegas. As you'll hear, the boys feel bullish about the Oilers' chances to get the job done, but that will only happen if they can bring the same effort that saw them close out their first-round matchup over Los Angeles.

  • On Tuesday's episode of Oilersnation Radio, we predicted that the next time we spoke on the podcast, we'd be discussing the Oilers' series win. Getting that prediction right made for a very fun episode of ONR to close out the week. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed Edmonton's win over Los Angeles, what to expect from the Vegas Golden Knights, and much more.

The boys kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about our favourite moment from the Oilers' first-round series win over the Kings and what moment we will still be thinking about years down the line. From the way Edmonton roared back from being down 2-0 to the way the depth scoring came flooding in to help close things out, there are plenty of options for core memories to lock in from what was a wild ride in round one.

Continuing the conversation about Game 6, we wondered what losing to the Oilers for four consecutive years would do to the Los Angeles Kings. Given that Los Angeles is clearly not good enough to compete with the big dogs in the Pacific Division, are they nearing a point when the Kings would consider tearing it down and trying to start over?

Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week. It's amazing how much things can change in a week, isn't it? Especially when you remember that the Oilers were down 2-0 in the series at this point last week.

  • Tuesday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been recorded and edited and is set to massage your ear feelings. On this week's podcast, the guys discussed the Edmonton Oilers' series comeback, what to expect from Game 5, Leon Draisaitl's dominance, and much more.

The boys started the Tuesday episode of ONR with a discussion about Rick Tocchet being out as head coach in Vancouver after the team released a statement that said they've parted ways, only a year after he won Coach of the Year. Getting into the regularly scheduled programming, we looked back at Kris Knoblauch's decision not to challenge Warren Foegele's goal in Game 4. As you'll hear, the boys were split on the play.

Looking back at Game 4, we started the review by discussing Leon Draisaitl's brilliance. Not only did he register four points in a critical game, but he also extended his postseason point streak against the Kings to 18 games. In that stretch, Draisaitl has amassed an unbelievable 35 points. The guys also discussed Evan Bouchard's incredible run of postseason offence, which ranks him second only to Bobby Orr in league history.

Finally, the fellas wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a run of betting talk for our friends at bet365, Knoblauch's decision to roll with Calvin Pickard, keys to victory in Game 5, and offered a few reasons why everyone should believe the Oilers can get the job done.

  • Friday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been recorded, edited, and is set to massage your ear feelings. On this week's podcast, the guys discussed what needs to happen in Game 3 defensively, Wednesday's loss to the L.A. Kings, and much more.

The boys started the Friday podcast with a delicious debate about the Oilers' defensive game and what specifically needs to improve for the team to avoid the chaos that's been happening in their zone through two games. Whether it's better decisions with the puck, supporting each other as passing options, or throwing the puck up the middle of the ice, there are countless ways Edmonton can improve in their zone that should lead to better results.

The guys continued the conversation about Game 3 with a look at Calvin Pickard getting the start in favour of Stuart Skinner, and gave takes on whether this was the right decision by Knoblauch. Given that Skinner has allowed 11 goals on 58 shots through the first two games, it wasn't exactly surprising to see the goalie swap for Friday night, but the move is also not without risks. The other angle is that Calvin Pickard played well down the stretch and probably earned an opportunity to get back in the crease.

From there, the discussion turned to the opposite end of the ice and what the Oilers need to do to generate more offence than we're seeing. Starting with getting more pucks on net, the Oilers really need to simplify their game and start doing more to make life uncomfortable for Darcy Kuemper. We also discussed the need for more bodies to the crease to fish for secondary chances and greasy playoff-like goals. Much like on the defensive side of the puck, there is a lot of room to improve.

Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week. Even though the team is down 0-2 in the first round, the ONR squad felt positive despite the circumstances. The question remains whether or not the Oilers feel just as bullish on what they're capable of doing on Friday back at Rogers Place.

  • Tuesday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been recorded, edited, and is set to massage your ear feelings. On this week's podcast, the guys discussed the Oilers' Game 1 loss, the special teams, penalty calls, and much more.

The guys kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a discussion about Monday's loss to the Kings, and how it was incredibly frustrating to have the Oilers come back from being down 4-0 and lose before the game got to OT. Starting with the mess in their zone, the boys wondered why Edmonton seems to be a yard sale in their end when they were so good defensively in last year's run. The guys also discussed whether or not losing Game 1 has any effect on how confident everyone is about the Oilers' ability to still win the series.

Changing gears, the boys discussed potential lineup adjustments for Game 2 if Evander Kane can return to the lineup for Game 2. As you'll hear, the boys have a few different names circled to get swapped out for Kane. What will be most interesting to see is what Kris Knoblauch thinks is the most significant need relative to who's coming out. Would Knoblauch sacrifice a penalty killer like Mattias Janmark or Connor Brown for Kane? What about a guy like Jeff Skinner, who was on the ice for three goals against? Either way,

Finally, the boys wrapped up the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a random collection of topics from around the NHL, including Lou Lamoriello's departure in New York, the implosion happening in Vancouver, coaches getting fired, and much more. Despite the Oilers' loss in Los Angeles, the boys' spirits were still high and looking ahead to a much better effort in Game 2 on Wednesday.

  • There's nothing quite like a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio to wrap up your Friday, get you prepped for tonight's game, and keep you updated on all things Edmonton Oilers. This week, the fellas recapped their pre-season predictions, looked ahead at the NHL playoffs, Oilers vs. Kings, and much more.

The guys kicked off the Friday episode of ONR by looking back at our preseason predictions and laughing about how wrong we were about almost everything. From goal predictions to point predictions to lineup decisions to everything in between, it was clear that the boys were feeling bullish on the team before the season started. As you'll hear, no one was close on pretty much anything, which made for a hilarious review.

Getting away from our prediction reviews, we looked ahead at the schedule for the first four games of the first round series against the Los Angeles Kings. We also discussed how many pundits are picking the Kings to win this series, and whether or not having the lowered expectations will help them in this series. While there's no doubt L.A. was fantastic on home ice, maybe having people look at the Oilers as underdogs might be beneficial.

Finally, the guys wrapped up the Friday episode of the podcast with another round of betting talk, Ask the Idiots, and Hot and Cold Performers to recap the last week of our lives. Whether it was talking about Tyler getting old, the PGA's TV tactics, or Joey Moss' legacy, there was plenty to discuss on the Friday episode of ONR.

  • Tuesday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been recorded, edited, and is set to massage your ear feelings. On this week's podcast, the guys discussed a potential Darnell Nurse suspension, Monday's loss to the L.A. Kings, and much more.

The boys started the Tuesday podcast with a delicious debate about whether Darnell Nurse should and will be suspended after the incident with Quinton Byfield, which resulted in a crosscheck to the head. Depending on how you look at the situation, the NHL has different routes to discipline Darnell Nurse, and the debate revolved around whether or not he will be suspended. As you'll hear, everyone's opinion on the matter was all over the map.

Changing gears, we looked back on Monday's loss to the Kings and how Philip Danault felt the Oilers were icing their B-squad and trying to hurt the opposing players. As much as Danault's comments weren't necessarily wrong, it was pretty funny that he didn't acknowledge the very real string of injuries Edmonton is working through. Even with McDavid saying the team isn't the 'walking wounded' this morning after practice, the reality is that the Oilers had nine regulars out of the lineup for Monday's game.

Sticking with the game against Los Angeles, we also discussed Quinn Hutson's NHL debut and how it was a cool moment for a young man who signed an ELC only days before suiting up for the Oilers. Despite playing just over 14 minutes in his debut, the guys discussed Hutson's ceiling and whether or not this is a prospect worth following. We also wondered how Hutson ranks among the other prospects the Oilers have signed in the last few weeks, and if these scratch tickets can do enough to bolster the Oilers' thin depth chart.

Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with some predictions about where Evander Kane might play when he returns and playoff betting talk before winding down with some game expectations for Wednesday's season finale against the San Jose Sharks. As always, the first episode of Oilersnation Radio of the week is always a fun one to record, and it was exciting to finally be talking about the playoffs after what has been a slog of a regular season.

  • There's nothing quite like a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio to wrap up your Friday, get you prepped for tonight's game, and keep you updated on all things Edmonton Oilers. This week, the fellas covered the Oilers' injury situation, Connor McDavid's return to the lineup, and much more.

The boys started the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Oilers' injury situation, specifically which player's injury we're most concerned about heading into the playoffs. Whether it's Mattias Ekholm not playing much over the last month, Stuart Skinner only getting two more starts before the playoffs, or Evander Kane's return after missing the whole season, Tyler wanted to know which player being healthy is the most concerning.

Looking back at the week, we started with Connor McDavid's return to the lineup on Wednesday against the St. Louis Blues and how the captain looked incredible after being on the shelf for eight games. With three points and more than a handful of flashes of brilliance, McDavid looked back to being himself, and it couldn't have come at a better time. We also spoke about Mattias Ekholm's return to the lineup, and we offered our take on what would be a good night for the Oilers' defender after so much time out with injury.

Finally, the guys wrapped up the Friday episode of the podcast with another round of betting talk and Hot and Cold Performers to recap the last week of our lives. Whether it was talking about Connor McDavid's return, having players heat up at the right time, or the opportunity to keep winning games despite losing the team's two best players, there was plenty to discuss on the Friday episode of ONR.

  • There's nothing quite like a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio to wrap up your Tuesday and keep you up to date on all things Edmonton Oilers.

We kicked off the Tuesday episode of the podcast with a delicious debate about the team's lack of response to Radko Gudas' dirty headshot on Corey Perry. Given that the team responded relatively lightly to doing nothing after the play, the guys wondered whether or not more should have been done in the moment or afterward. Another angle on the story is how the refs completely lost the plot in Monday's game, and their performance so poorly only contributed to the chaos on the ice.

Changing gears, we looked at the last two games the Oilers lost and tried to figure out what went wrong at the end of the road trip. Yes, it's a massive problem that McDavid and Draisaitl are not in the lineup, but the struggle to get goals in the net is a problem the team can't seem to solve. We also touched on Olivier Rodrigue's first NHL start and how it was a big moment for the second-round pick from 2018, even though he didn't get the desired result.

The guys also reviewed the latest injury updates for the roster and discussed how it's more important for the team to get healthy than to rush people back. According to Jason Gregor, Stuart Skinner may be the first man back after he started practicing with the team and is targeting coming back this week. Without the team practicing on Tuesday, we don't know the status of the other injured players, so the boys took their best guesses for who would come back first.

Finally, the boys wrapped up the podcast with a discussion about Alex Ovechkin breaking Wayne Gretzky's goal record, and how it was pretty fun to see one of the most untouchable records get broken. We also ran through some betting talk for our friends at bet365 that looked at the Oilers' Cup futures as well as Leon Draisaitl's chances to win the Hart Trophy before wrapping up the pod with keys to victory and a score prediction against the Blues.

  • It's Friday afternoon, the boys are back from Vegas, meaning a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is set and ready to send you into the weekend. On today's show, we discussed Thursday's win over San Jose, the loss of Leon Draisaitl, playoff line combinations, and much more.

The boys started the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about some of the nonsensical plays that happened in the NHL this past week. Starting with Niko Mikkola's fine for shooting the puck at an opposing player, the guys wondered whether the fine was worthy of the action or if he should have been punished more heavily. We then discussed the ridiculous Jalen Chatfield takedown of Connor McMichael in a fight and how he did not face discipline for such a dangerous play.

Changing gears, we looked at Viktor Arvidsson's recent success and how he now has goals in three straight games. Given how the expectations placed on him were sky-high, having him start to pop goals with under 10 games left is a welcomed sight among the fanbase. And since players like Arvy are starting to heat up, we discussed how the the line combinations may look as bodies get back in the lineup. Needless to say, the coaching staff will have some very difficult decisions to make.

Finally, the guys wrapped up the Friday episode of the podcast with another round of betting talk and Hot and Cold Performers to recap the last week of our lives. Whether it was the Nation Vacation to Las Vegas, having players heat up at the right time, or the opportunity to keep winning games despite losing the team's two best players, there was plenty to discuss on the Friday episode of ONR.

  • It's Friday afternoon, the trade deadline has passed, and now it's time to recap everything the Edmonton Oilers got done or didn't get done at the NHL's annual swap 'n shop. On today's show, we discussed the final 10 games of the regular season, team toughness, and much more.

The guys kicked off the podcast with a 15-minute argument about traffic circles as the boys tried anything possible to avoid talking about the Oilers. As you'll hear, the boys got passionate after calling Jay into the room to share his theory on a specific traffic circle tactic in the west end. Do you agree with Jay's hack, or are you a traffic circle purist like Baggedmilk?

Turning the show to the Oilers, the guys discussed the final 10 games of the season and how much we care about the results in this final stretch. If the team doesn't go 0-10, how much does it matter relative to the Oilers' need to get the team healthy? We also touched on Olivier Rodrigue's NHL debut that happened on Thursday against the Kraken and how it was a strong performance by the young man despite being thrown in the net in dire circumstances.

Changing gears, we touched on Stuart Skinner's injury and whether the team in front of him responded adequately. Despite being a throwaway comment by Baggedmilk, the ensuing argument about the lack of team toughness got spicier than expected. As you'll hear, the boys all had very different ideas about the approach to those situations, and it was fascinating to hear everyone work through the angles.

Finally, we wrapped up the episode with another round of betting talk, Ask the Idiots questions, and our Hot and Cold Performers. Even though the topics were all over the map, the conversation ended up getting a little bit spicier than you'd imagine from our usual Friday segments.
