As we celebrate Global Running Day, we do so with an interview featuring Lionel Brahim Brodie III of The Original Propaganda Athletic Club (O.P.A.C.).
On this episode, Mike had the opportunity to learn about Brodieâs intro to running following a night at the bar where he challenged the bartender to a run the following morning. Despite his hopes that she would simply let it pass, he quickly learned how people in the running community held each other accountable as she came knocking on his door to wake him up for their run the next morning. While he felt like he wanted to faint, he didnât die, and eventually he became hooked.
Over the years, Brodie began to create spaces for others to begin their running journey with the Villanova Run Club during his time on staff in the athletic department, then through the creation of O.P.A.C. in 2015.
So make sure you run over to Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your podcasts to hear more about his story, OPAC, and how running has helped him when faced with difficult times over the years.

On this episode of Perfect Timing Multisport, Mike had a chance to chat with Rising about his journey as an athlete, as well as a student leader at Darden School of Business.
Growing up as a track athlete, Rising learned that it was essential to take the advice of the leaders around him. In addition, through track, he understood that it was essential to run your own race, and not worry about someone elseâs pace. This has been something he's taken into his program at Darden as it's presented a number of challenges on it's own.
Last, we shared about all the events Dardenâs Black Business Student Association and Black Professional MBA Student Association clubs have planned for University of Virginiaâs Black Alumni Week in April.
In closing, be sure to connect with Rising, on LinkedIn, or on Instagram by following him through RisingsLens.
