Let's have a heart to heart about this all to popular phrase floating around today, imposter syndrome.
When we were kids we pretended we were doctors, princesses or fire fighters because we were trying on who we want to be when we grow up. We call it playing make believe.
As teenagers when we tried a new style of clothes or a new friend group and we were called "posers". But in reality we were still just trying to figure out who we wanted to be.
As adults we sometimes step into professional roles or situations where we feel uncomfortable and where we feel like we have to fake it till we make it and we call this feeling imposter syndrome. But we are still just trying to figure out who we want to be when we grow up even if we are middle aged.

We have three main gears in life.
1. Cruise Control
2. Overdrive - Passing Lane
3. Coasting - slow lane
I don't think anyone should live in overdrive always.
That is the hustle mentality that I don't subscribe too. I think overdrive is needed for seasons and you need to shift back into cruise control as soon as possible.
We also have seasons when we need to coast. It's time to get in the slow lane and listen to gps. Too often when we are in overdrive professionally we forget to shift into coast personally and vice versa. We only have so much time and energy and we need to be realistic about what we can accomplish.

Interviewing is a two way street.
The interviewee is hoping to show up great as the best candidate for the job and the interviewer is trying to determine if the interviewee is a good fit for their open position.
BUT also the interviewee is trying to decide "Is this a company I want to work for?"
Top talent has choices in a growing market. The way you show up in that interview as an interviewer tells a story. You want to find a candidate that is a HELL YES and you want that person to feel like it's a HELL YES to come and work for you and your company!
