Sex and Chronic Illness features shame-free conversations about chronic illness, disability, and intimacy. Through discussions with educators, couples, and experts, Dr. Lee explores strategies for overcoming the sexual challenges caused by illness and disability.
Dr. Lee is a certified sex and couples therapist who has spent more than a decade working with individuals and couples on sexuality after chronic illness and disability. Dr. Lee’s personal experience with Lyme disease has provided him with unique insights into the ways that chronic illness and disability impact people’s sex life.
In addition to his therapy work, Dr. Lee frequently lectures on topics including sexuality, chronic pain, preventative services, anxiety and stress management, caregiving stress, depression in the elderly, mindfulness, and cognitive strategies for chronic pain, reclaiming sexuality for couples with chronic illness, ethical decision making, assessment of mental disorders, and exploring sexual communication, freedom, and pleasure for gender minorities with chronic illness, pain, and other disabilities. His life mission is to crush the myth that people with chronic illness and disabilities are not sexual. You can find out more about Dr. Lee’s work at: www.drleephillips.com
