Hello you rock and rollers! This episode is all about how The Smiths maybe, possibly (but I say YES) transformed Glastonbury from the hippie festival it was known as into the juggernaut we know it as today, even talking about the recent appearance at the festival by one Mr. Astley backed by Blossoms. In order to tackle this huge subject, we've invited renowned Rick Astley super-fan and biographer Elise Soutar (@smilesawakeu) onto the show. You may remember her from our episode on The Top of the Pops, so give her a big returning welcome round of applause, just as her hero (Rick Astley) would!

Am I personally biased to loving this record? Yes. Hence why my guest for this episode is... well, me. This was the album that got me into the Smiths and I have an EP that just came out ("John Hughes Thoughts"), so I figured I'd run my mouth a little bit on here. Unfortunately, this episode has some issues with audio problems that persisted form last episode, so I apologize greatly for that and I am looking intently into preventing it from happening again. Regardless, I hope you enjoy!

We bring Caleb back onto the show to introduce him to the next batch of singles and their respective b-sides. I also apologize for some of the audio issues with this one; it was my finals week, so I guess my computer didn't have all the processing power needed.

Myself and several other hosts and fans pay our respects to Andy Rourke, bassist of the Smiths, who sadly passed away May 19th, just last week.

The Smiths first LP. Is it over-rated, under-rated, or perfectly in the middle? Frankly, Mr. Shankly, we can't decide either, so we brought some help.vvWe welcome Austin Curtis (@bloodyawfulpoetry) of the band Don't Get Lemon onto the show for our longest episode yet, the perfect setting for our first foray into a full Smiths album.

It's time we tackled the "mystery wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in a cardigan," even Morrissey. He put the M in Manchester, but how did he get there? For this daunting task, we enlist the help of Alyssa Robertson (@alyssamiarobertson) of the band Bittersweethearts to feed us the facts, quips, and myths about our main subject today. You can also find her band here: https://bittersweetheartsband.com/

Bonus episode of all the very good, very important, and sometimes silly tangents cut out of the last episode with Elise Soutar. With over 2 hours of audio, there were quite a few. Enjoy and remember to follow Elise @smilesawakeu where you can find links to her work!
Reach out to the show as well!

We've reached double digits! As we progress in our journey through the Smiths career, we need to pay mention to one of the most influential figures in the progress of their journey, BBC 1's John Peel. For this episode, we have returning guest Ethan Seegmiller (@erseegmiller) on for an episode nearly three times as long as I'd told him he'd be on... Whoops...

Bigmouth strikes again! This episode is focused on the troubled relationship Morrissey has had with the press over the years and how that dynamic has changed over the history of The Smiths. To help us tackle (and we do mean tackle) this subject, we have our very first returning guest, Elena (@_elenazambrano_ ), who previously appeared in episode 2 of the show. For more from Elena, Instagram's the place!

It was their first album before their debut, and no, we aren't talking about Bjork. This is a look into The Smiths' recordings with artist and producer Troy Tate, the history behind them, and what legacy they leave today. To talk about this, we have artist and producer Brady Hoggard of @edison_recording_studio joining on the show!
