Ho ho ho… Merry Christmas from Alyssa and Skye! 🎄
Our final episode for 2024 is a special Christmas send-off. We dive into the bittersweet emotions that often come with this time of year — from tricky family dynamics and old wounds resurfacing, to anxieties about money and the overwhelming sense of time slipping by.
We also share some thoughts on showing yourself compassion during the holidays and offer a few lighthearted tips for making it through the season (without, you know, ending up on the naughty list in a very dramatic way).
While this episode is fun, it’s also thought-provoking, and we hope it provides comfort and healing to many of you.
We'll be back in the new year with fresh episodes, exploring relationships, heartbreak, and the courage it takes to move forward.
Until then, be kind to yourselves, and Merry Christmas!
Love,
Alyssa + Skye -

In this episode, Alyssa and Skye dive into the journey of learning to trust our intuition and the challenges of navigating the different parts of ourselves. They discuss how emotional pain can trigger our nervous systems to react as if we’re in real physical danger, and how this impacts our ability to trust our instincts. The conversation explores the importance of therapy in helping us meet and befriend these various parts of ourselves, in order to hear their wisdom.Alyssa shares valuable insights about the role of therapy: it's about guiding you back to your true self. She explains that through trauma, grief, and pain, we may lose pieces of ourselves, but those parts are never truly gone. The healing process is about rediscovering and reconnecting with who we really are, as apposed to becoming a new version of ourselves.

We talk about seeing all sides to people and finding ways to accept what has happened in our lives without letting it define us.

We introduce the purpose of this podcast; breaking up from the dominant stories of life being about marriage, having children & having it all by a certain age. We explore how all stories are complex, unique & beautiful & how life rarely turns out how we expect it to. We share how we are inspired by stories of courage and kindness in all of life’s heartbreaks & we explore what helps us hold onto hope and keep risking in life & love.
