In this week's episode of the Does It Doom Podcast I had the opportunity to chat with one of the forefathers of doom metal, or downer rock as he prefers to call it, Bobby Liebling of Pentagram. We discuss the very early days of the band, into the high voltage era, a bit of the sub basement era, right through to today. The song is played in the key of C Minor and it's riffs utilize elements from the Natural Minor Scale {R, M2, b3, p4, p5, b6, b7} and Phrygian Mode {R, b2, b3, p4, p5, b6, b7} along with the Diminished Fifth ,b5 , from the Blues Scale and the Major Third, M3. In general, the song makes great use of chromatic passing tones as it blends the various minor scales.
