Europe's automotive industry is facing a growing crisis that could lead to the loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs in the sector.
The EPP Group wants to ensure that driving remains affordable for everyone, not just for those who can afford expensive electric cars. To achieve this, Europe must be driven by economic realism and remain technologically neutral. If we do not, driving will become too costly for many Europeans, and we will lose countless jobs in the automotive industry to competitors like China.

Over 70% of businesses in the EU lack staff with adequate digital skills, which hinders investment.
How can we fix the imbalance between unemployment, job vacancies and the skills needed to fill them? The first step towards bridging this gap is to offer further training programs for our workforce. Upskilling and lifelong learning are key parts of this transformation.
In this episode of the EPP Group podcast series “A Europe that Protects its People”, we discuss our vision of a Europe that works for everyone while ensuring EU competitiveness.
