Ray Jakeman aka The Golf PT stops by this week to discuss all thing golf and fitness. We discuss what every type of golfer can do to improve their game of the course in the gym and why Bryson Dechambeau is smashing it a mile through his gym routine.
Had a lot of fun and was an education learning why being fit is now an important part of the game. -
This Week episode I am joined by Aaron Frederick aka Mr Relatable Aus. Aaron started a youtube channel reviewing all things golf and his channel has gone from strength to strength. We got the time difference sorted and we spoke about all things golf, what golf is like over in Australia, what golf equipment he has found to be good and through his review, if there is any solid advice he can share.
We had a laugh for an hour. We have an Englishman and an Australian. What could go wrong?

Jamie Cundy is a Fellow PGA advanced professional. I used to work with Jamie at Direct golf and for the short time he was there I had a blast with him. He is a pro with so much experience and the highest praise I could give him is, if I owned a golf club, I would at least have a conversation with him to get him on board.
We talk about his career to date, and we did the recording in two session however due to technical difficulties, I only have the 2nd part of the recording which I explain in the podcast. Sit back and enjoy.

Learnt so much from this episode and golf has changed when it comes to training its juniors golfers at any level. I am joined by PGA professional Matthew Brookes, who is currently coaching elite junior golfers in Spain. He had set up a junior camp in the school holidays and had great success with them before making the move.
On this episode, Matthew talks passionately how junior golf and fitness are related, what to look out for in their game as they are growing up, how TPI can help their game as well as other things. We literally talk junior golf coaching and to my surprise, it not as simple as getting a set of clubs, cutting them down and away you go like many of us did. Great listen for any parent and in general. I learnt a hell of a lot.

This is a good listen. Mark James is a PGA golf professional (Not the Mark James) who has done a lot in his career to date. On this episode, we literally shot from the hip and chatted all things golf and some Coventry city football club. We talk about what it was like doing getting qualified, how good the guys are on the development tours, his time working in Australia and what he has done in his career that has to lead him working for Titleist.
Mark James aka jamez, is a very straight shooter and says exactly how it is. I had a great laugh doing this and pretty certain we could have talked for another hour. Hopefully, you enjoy listening to this as much as I did recording it. -
Probably this is the most serious podcast to date. Memberships. This is an episode, regarding the topic, memberships, that could easily get 2/3 episode out of it. In this episode, I am joined by Rhod and Stuart, (with his brother Razzle calling to interpret) and we discuss all things memberships.
We discuss if clubs need to adapt to an ever-changing world, what different things they can offer to attract and retain members and if really cheap green fees are the answer.
An interesting topic where we did well to keep it just over the hour mark! Hope you enjoy and of course, as usual any feedback can be discussed.

Matthew Brookes is a PGA coach who is also a Personal trainer. He specialises in Junior golf coaching and is currently working in Spain for Jason Floyd Golf Academy who specialises in Elite Junior coaching.
Matt is also TPI qualified and today episode we go over his journey to date, his junior camps that were a huge success and how he ended up in Spain. Matt has also been on the podcast before so it was time we did a 121 episode with the man himself.

This weeks Episode is something slightly different. With the PGA tour returning to TV, We are going to go over the recent golf matches that have been on TV, discuss the new European tour UK swing over 6 weeks, PGA Tour preview of the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial CC, Fort Worth, Texas and we are going to over a quick debate on how the golf on TV could increase Viewership.

Something a little bit different. On this episode, I am joined again by Stu Helliker and PGA and Fitness coach, Matthew Brookes. The chat of the day was building the ultimate golfer using guys that are on tour now. Some of the categories are the standard best driver, wood, irons and wedges player but I put some random ones in there like, Swing Tempo, Swing looks, Luck and Recovery. Somehow hair came into it.
The one rule I put in place was only choosing one golfer per category and they must play on tour now. Some interesting debate by us and some fun too. Be interested to hear your thoughts.

I had a lot of fun recording this podcast. Fred Jewsbury is a PGA qualified golf professional, based at Stratford-upon-Avon Golf Club, he comes from a big golfing family and shares how he reluctantly started in the game, shares his experience, some of his thoughts of the game, and as he is best mates is Ryder cup player Andy Sullivan, he shares his experiences when he was able to get inside the ropes at the Masters and the Ryder Cup.
Some great stories and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did talking to Fred. There might be the odd spot that isnt the best quality.

This is the first podcast that we will be splitting over 2 episodes. Today guest is someone I learnt a lot from him in regards to custom fitting and golf product knowledge as well as running a retail store. I worked with Ricardo for around 18 months. Ricardo is a former tour professional and golf coach. He has gone from playing full time to working and managing a retail golf superstore as well as custom fitting.
In part two we go over custom fitting, mentality, and the business models of the big golf superstores.

Today podcast we discuss the article that we found on golf.com regarding the great sir Nick Faldo's view on equipment in the game and banning tee pegs for the pro's.
We discuss many things from equipment, TV viewership, and course set up. Of course, we are all mates so no doubt that we go off subject and talk about other things but for 3 guys that don't agree on hardly anything, there is an agreement in their somewhere which is an achievement in itself.
We do of course go off topic for 5 minutes as we talk about trying to caddie for stu.
Enjoy and let us know what your thoughts are.
