  • Do you wish you had more time? Does it feel like the to do list is never ending and you don’t have time to finish all the things that need to get done let alone have some time to do the things you love?

In this interview with Lissa Figgins, time stewardship coach, we talk about how you DO have time and how asking yourself one question can change your perception around time and around how much time you have.

  • How often have you ‘decided’ that today/this month/this year you are going to do something and you are going to stick to it?

And by lunch time or within a week or a month, you realise that you are doing exactly what you said you weren’t going to do or you are not doing what you said you were going to do? You are not alone! Being consistent is hard for all of us and especially for us as working moms. But I want to tell you that it is NOT about willpower. It is not that you don’t have the willpower. And I also want to tell you that you CAN be consistent.

  • In this hugely insightful interview with Angela Buckley, we talk about her journey of working motherhood and how she has had a very successful career while also spending real quality time with and instilling in her son the values of leadership, including the importance of community.

It was truly an honour to share this time with someone who is so clearly capable and strong and able to be vulnerable in how she leads both herself and those around her. I believe that Angela visibly showcases the elements of resilience that can allow us to stand firm and steadfast in our roles as leader at home and in the workplace.

Angela holds a doctorate in Organizational Leadership. She focuses on the intersection of adult learning theory, cultural change, change management, and structural and systems development. Her leadership consulting focuses on mindset, grit, and positive reinforcement to influence change. Angela believes the first step in becoming a leader is to learn to lead yourself: You like yourself, you trust yourself, and you set boundaries for yourself. Once you have mastered the disciplines associated with like, trust, and boundaries, you are ready to start leading others.

  • In this live coaching session, Amanda wanted some help figuring out how she could lose her temper less and could be more present with her children, giving them the attention they need and crave so that their cups can be filled.

I loved the intentionality of this session where she was vulnerable enough to get to know what blockages she had that were causing her to snap at her children or struggle to play with them without being drawn to the millions of things that needed doing.

As a result, she walked away with some useful take aways that can help her to build her resilience so that she can focus, be productive where she needs to be and then be fully present with her children.

Come and join Amanda and the other working mums that I support in building their resilience so that you too can find the peace and ease that we are all after!

  • 'Hanger' is a term well known in our household. As a working mum, it can be hard to remember to feed myself the right foods let alone the children!

When we don't feed our bodies properly, we experience a physiological shift that means that we cannot think clearly and thus, we do not behave the way that we want to.

This conversation with nutritionist and biokinesiologist Adi St George outlines 3 mistakes we make when it comes to how we feed our bodies. These mistakes can lead to challenges in how we think and behave, not only for ourselves but also for our children. When we are fed correctly, we have so much more capacity to manage the day, whatever age we are!

  • Achieving work life balance is something that I think many of us are trying to do all the time. I am interested by what causes us to be out of balance and also in what we can do to get back there.

Here are three things we can stop doing so that we are able to achieve a closer state of balance. By giving these three things up, we will find that there is more time, we are able to focus better and we find that we can get more done and be more present where we need to be.

I bring the exercise she did with me to this episode today so that you can benefit from the lesson I learnt about the relationship between our values and time, including how much time we have.

In this third Find More Time Friday, grab a notebook and pen and really dig into the exercise as it is sure to offer you an aha moment that might change your whole perception of how you spend your time!

  • This episode is inspired by 5 questions I got from Marie Forleo, the author of a book called ‘Everything is Figureoutable’.

I loved these questions and thought that as working mums, they can be so useful to help us be curious about where we are unsatisfied or stuck and where we want to make changes.

When we know what is causing us discomfort in the way that we are operating, we can find a way to move towards a calm mindset, one that allows us to be patient, to make choices that create more time, and to build balance in our lives.

Journal around these 5 questions either all in one go or one at a time and see what comes up for you and what changes you could make that could create a place of peace and ease for you.

  • More time is something that we, as working moms, long for. And more specifically more me-time, time to slow down, breathe and perhaps do something for ourselves.

I believe that this time comes from doing something in the moments when we feel like we have no time. And this formula offers a reminder for what you can do in the moment to help you have more time.

  • Are you a fly by the seat of your pants kind of person? Do you wish you could be more organized but can't seem to figure out how (or perhaps even why?!)

There is a fluster and chaos that comes with not having a plan in place and even though planning might feel uncomfortable to you, it makes such a difference to how productive you are.

Today I outline the method I use to help me plan, to create structure and set boundaries in my life that allow me to get things done, be focused on the task at hand and then to end work time and move into home time at the end of the day, keeping the boundary between the two set and in place, allowing me to be calm and present with my children.

  • Time is a finite thing and it can feel like it is slipping through our fingers. Have you ever found that there are times when you can get so much done that you suddenly have a bit of time to spare? If so, what was different about that situation?

I would imagine that you possibly were enjoying the things you were doing and so there were no other distracting thoughts running through your head. This episode looks at some of those thoughts that cause us to get distracted, be unproductive and end up overwhelmed by the to do list so that we end up longing for more time.

If you are a working mum who wants more time, who longs to be more productive and who wishes they could be more present, patient and calm with your children, listen in!
