Welcome to Season 2 of The Mission Mindset, the Alpha Ireland Podcast. We're really excited to be sharing with you over the coming weeks ahead some of the amazing content from our AIC22: Multiply Conference, which took place in St Catherine's Church, Dublin 8, back last month.
First up is our keynote address from Fr Columba Jordan of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. Fr Columba spoke passionately and humourously on Making Jesus' Last Command Our First Priority.
It's all about why we should be on mission, and how we can keep our eyes focused on God, and relying on the Holy Spirit for inspiration and enthusiasm. It's worth sitting down with a cuppa over and making sure you have a pen and paper handy to scribble some notes!

A trainer, facilitator and coach, he leads the team and is passionate about collaboration and leadership that serves the vulnerable and transforms communities. He holds an MDiv, is working towards coaching accreditation with the ICF and serves on two boards. Parents of two small children, Sam and his wife Emily are involved in leadership in their local church.
John and Sam chat about how churches can better develop their leadership teams, the role of discipleship in leading a healthy church culture, and just what exactly is coaching?

This week John is joined by Rick Hill. Rick serves in leadership at Carnmoney Church and works for the Presbyterian Church in Ireland in the areas of discipleship and leadership. He is passionate about seeing every follower of Jesus equipped and mobilised to serve in God’s mission. Rick is the author of Deep Roots of Resilient Disciples, which you can learn more about here.
John and Rick look at one of the key challenges facing the Church in Ireland today, namely ending people's purely cultural association with church and how this brings new opportunities for churches to intentionally build disciples who are ready for mission. They also reflect on the key themes from Rick's brilliant book Deep Roots of Resilient Disciples. Starting the New Year with intention, Alpha Ireland is working to serve the Church in the first half of 2022. That means encouraging the Church down a path to renewal for parishes from New Year to Pentecost (January to June 2022).
