Dressing appropriately for an event is important because it demonstrates respect for the audience and the occasion, and helps establish your credibility as a speaker.
By doing this you send the message that you take your speaking engagement seriously and that you value the audience's time and attention. The appropriate dress code will vary depending on the type of event and the audience. It's best to wear attire that is appropriate for the industry and occasion. It's best to err on the side of being overdressed rather than underdressed.
Additionally, dressing appropriately can help you feel more confident and comfortable when you're speaking, as you know that you look professional and put together. This can help you focus on delivering your message, rather than worrying about your appearance.

Speakers' agents play a crucial role in helping speakers secure speaking gigs by acting as intermediaries between the speakers and event organizers. Agents have the knowledge, experience, and connections to match speakers with the right opportunities and negotiate the best terms and conditions for their clients. They can also provide valuable support and advice to speakers on things like content creation, marketing, and brand development. Agents have access to a wide network of contacts in the speaking industry, which they use to market the speakers' services and get them in front of potential clients. Agents also handle the administrative and financial aspects of a speaking engagement, such as invoicing and contracts, which allows speakers to focus on their message and delivery. In short, agents provide valuable support, expertise, and resources to help speakers secure and succeed in speaking engagements.
This episode focuses on tips on how to get agents to represent you as a speaker. The following are some tips that may help you in attracting the attention of an agent and secure representation shared by a speaker agent himself - David Stollman.
About our super Guest David Stollman:
David has been called many things â blunt, honest and funny are his favorites. He is an educator, a trainer, a keynote speaker and an entrepreneur. David is passionate, fiercely loyal and irrationally biased toward the things he loves. Philadelphia is the greatest city in the world. The University of Maryland is the most beautiful campus of all 600 heâs visited. And, the Phillies WILL win the World Series⊠someday.
David believes in the inherent dignity of all people, except for those that think Whataburger is better than In-n-Out Burger. (Those people need professional help.) David believes in the power of personal stories, and that leaders have the ability to change the world.
Over the last 20 years, he has won lots of awards from all sorts of cool organizations for his work with college students and the advancement of the college fraternal communities. David has spoken in Canada, and 49 of the 50 states â and that will sound MUCH cooler once the University of Alaska gets it together!
Most importantly, he is a husband, and father of the three most adorable children in the world.

Speaking from the heart helps speakers to be more effective and impactful in their communication.
Speakers need to speak from their heart because it allows them to connect with their audience on an emotional level and deliver a message that is sincere and compelling. When a speaker speaks from their heart, they are able to convey their passion, beliefs, and values in a way that is authentic and convincing. This creates a sense of trust and credibility with the audience, making them more likely to listen and engage with the message being delivered. Moreover, speaking from the heart can help speakers overcome nervousness or stage fright by giving them a clear purpose and connection to what they are saying.
About our guest Manny Cabo:
Every once in a while, in the ever-competitive entertainment industry, a presence enters the scene that turns heads, opens eyes and ears, touches hearts, and makes a lasting impact on everyone they encounter: Such is the case with the multifaceted, Commercial Rockin, arts-embracing and award-winning Singer / Songwriter Manny Cabo. From his incredible 4 chair turn on NBC's "THE VOICE" and recently mirroring his vocal prowess and breaking linguistic boundaries on NBC / Telemundo's "LA VOZ." Cabo has been leaving his creative mark and vocal resonance on an international level and across multi-cultural boundaries. Whether heâs helping artists build their brands, singing, acting, photographing, or hosting, his compelling focus and his artistry shine through and always leave his fans and clients wanting more.

Welcome back to another episode of The Public Speaking Experts Podcast!
In this episode, we'll look at how speakers can differentiate themselves from the crowd by being fearless and daring to make mistakes.
Ever encounter a speaker who appeared to have everything under control? They had impeccable timing for all jokes and stories, spoke clearly, and never stammered. While this might seem like the ideal public speaker, it can also make them seem robotic and unrelatable. In fact, being willing to make mistakes can help a speaker become more relatable, engaging, and memorable. To speak in front of an audience and communicate your ideas requires confidence. To be open and acknowledge mistakes requires courage.
In this episode, we will discuss how embracing mistakes and imperfections can actually help you connect with your audience. We'll also explore techniques for being more daring in your public speaking, such as taking risks with your content, trying new speaking styles, and experimenting with humor.
We will give you some tips on how to develop the confidence and courage to take risks and be more authentic in your public speaking.
So if you're ready to step outside of your comfort zone and become a more daring and memorable speaker, tune in to this episode of The Public Speaking Experts Podcast. Let's start being courageous and daring to mess up!

A successful persuasive talk gets the audience to hang on to each point and follow along, wanting to know where the talk is going and how it will further impact their own lives.
There are three main keys to persuasion - Ethos, Pathos, and Logos
Logos appeals to the audience's reason, building up logical arguments. Ethos appeals to the speaker's status or authority, making the audience more likely to trust them. Pathos appeals to emotions.
Highly persuasive speakers start their presentation or speech with an emotional punch, not only to gain the audience's attention but also to produce a positive response.

Instead of memorizing focus on familiarizing. Put together a thorough outline of the presentation, but do not write it out word for word. From there, practice expanding on your points and delivering the speech out loud.
Consider separating parts of your speech or creating branches using the main topics or key ideas and adding leaves to the branches by including smaller details.
