There are many times in our life when we know that things will not be as good as they are right now, and nevertheless we should always focus on that wonderful moment that is the present and not become downcast by the thought that it may not, and will not, last forever. Judaism says that we shouldn’t live FOR the moment, but we certainly should live IN the moment.

I heard this story from Rabbi YY Jacobson. The Kindertransport was a desperate effort to rescue Jewish children from the Nazis. During the nine months prior to the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939, the United Kingdom took in nearly 10,000 children, from Germany, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, and the Free City of Danzig. The children were placed in British foster homes, hostels, schools, and farms. Often, they were the only members of their families to survive the Holocaust. One of those children was Beryl Gartner, who later in his life told his story to BBC radio. כתיבה וחתימה טובה!

In Parshat Shofetim, the Torah mandates the creation of judges and enforcement officers, “You shall place judges and officers in all your gates…” Why is it necessary to have both judges and enforcement officers? Why couldn’t the judges also be the enactors of its enforcement?

What I did on my hols'... This is a song about Moshiach - the Messiah. "Maybe – today’s the day he’s going to come. Crazy? I’m used to people making fun. But everyday I’ll wait for him And no delay, my faith will dim. I just know - I think it’s gonna work out fine. "Take me a mile above the setting sun! I’ll wait there till all is seen and said and done. But one day soon the clouds will clear, And all the world, His voice will hear, I just know, I think it’s gonna work out fine. "I think it's gonna work out fine. I think it's gonna work out fine." The tune was originally written by McCoy and McKinney. Ry Cooder's version introduced the guitar riff.

The antisemites of this world are right – the Jews do run the world – but not in the way they think...
