  • I’ve been telling you that I’m leveling up this podcast. Today’s episode proves it!

I had the absolute honor of sitting down with Sophie Mazzaro, a world-renowned mural artist, sneaker customizer, and creative force whose journey is anything but ordinary. From her roots as a German exchange student in Texas to painting the now-iconic Kobe Bryant mural on the Venice Beach Pier, Sophie’s story is a masterpiece. Every connection she made along the way contributed to the stunning tapestry of her artistic journey.

As I interview Sophie Mazzaro for The Ripple Effect Podcast, she opens up about her early days growing up in Berlin, her move to LA to chase an acting dream, and how that world led her straight into the life of a full-time artist and entrepreneur. Despite growing up with parents in the IT industry, Sophie went in the opposite direction and pursued the creative route. She’s worked on custom sneakers, tattooed incredible pieces, and painted massive murals, including one from the 72nd floor of the tallest building in LA.

What blew me away was Sophie’s unfiltered honesty about the artistic grind: how she navigates creative burnout and the realities behind the “starving artist” perspective. We talk about the emotional story behind her Kobe Bryant tribute, building a business around her art, and her bold new chapter living in Wyoming, painting breathtaking wildlife pieces inspired by her surroundings.

If you’ve ever wanted to know how to turn art into a business, what it’s like to be a mural artist, or how to make it as a creative, this episode will empower you. This isn’t just another artist interview. This is the story of a woman unapologetically forging her own path, one brushstroke at a time.

Listen and get inspired by one of the most creative and driven artists of our time. This is Sophie Mazzaro, and this is her Ripple Effect.

PS. Wait for the surprising announcement from Sophie Mazzaro in the end!

Even if you’re only listening on a radio, they have the magic to bring out vivid imaginations and keep your blood pumping.

As an avid sports fan who imitates these real-time announcements once in a while for fun, I am highly pumped and honored to say that we have the award-winning anchor, extraordinary sportscaster, and ESPN play-by-play announcer Alex Loeb in today’s episode of The Ripple Effect Podcast.

With more than 25 years of experience in sports broadcasting, Alex Loeb has covered games around the U.S., including massive events like the Super Bowl, and traveled with famous sports teams like the Miami Heat and more. He also hosted a daytime sports show in Austin, The Lowdown, on The Horn 104.9, which aired for over two years. To this day, Alex continues to let his love for sports resonate all over the globe as a play-by-play announcer for ESPN.

As we talk about his impressive track record, Alex shares how he discovered his love for broadcasting despite feeling lost in high school and not getting into college immediately. His story will encourage you to keep trying until you find a career that sparks joy.

Being a play-by-play announcer could be the dream job of many sports fans out there, but in this episode, Alex demystifies what an average fan doesn’t know about this job. He gave us an idea of how much training and effort he took to get into this field. If you’re aspiring to enter the world of sports as a play-by-play announcer like Alex, or you’re just curious, this episode is for you!

  • You may be working for someone else today and be the powerful boss that you are tomorrow. The possibilities are endless, and today’s guest for The Ripple Effect Podcast is a walking example.

I know you’re a busy person filled with dreams and ambitions. While you do today’s tasks, plug in your earphones and listen to The Ripple Effect Podcast!

It’s your host, Steve Harper, with our special guest, real estate extraordinaire Randi Zucker.

    ____________________________________________

Randi Zucker’s early career experience revolved around internet marketing, e-commerce, and web design/development. Like most, she worked nine-to-five for companies and high-profile individuals. That was until she started thinking of long-term ways to cement her family’s promising future.

Together with her husband Adam, a licensed Florida Realtor, they’ve started flipping real estate properties and expanding their portfolio. “Flipping” in Randi’s Dictionary means buying properties that need improvement, renovating, and selling them. Over the years, they’ve successfully flipped over a hundred homes and eventually owned three hotels — Palm Cove Motel in Clearwater, Isla Palma Singer Island in Palm Beach Shore, and Three Pines Lodge in North Carolina.

Having extensive experience in the real estate game, the power couple Randi and Adam offer coaching services to real estate investors who want to get into the business. They coach through the 10-Minute Mogul approach — investing 10 minutes of your time a day to grow your wealth and real estate empire.

Randi emphasized the significant role of relationship-building in her success — from initially reaching out to agents and investors to connecting with their market and knowing what hotel visitors need. Rippling is essential for an entrepreneur’s survival!

Additionally, Randi explains her challenges as everyone’s go-to problem solver and leader.

Dip your toes into the world of real estate and start planting the seeds of legacy wealth. Let’s discuss all things real estate and relationship building!

  • “Are you going off a script? You probably should.”

    Man, that stung!

I heard this feedback from a friend eight episodes into The Ripple Effect Podcast, and my soul was obliterated. Self-doubt ate me up every time I hit record. I started overthinking every word before it came out of my mouth. As someone who just started threading the podcasting world, my infinitesimal confidence became nonexistent. It wasn’t the most pleasant feeling.

If I let those words live rent-free in my head, I wouldn’t be here talking (still no script, by the way) and pouring my heart out. Before I knew it, eight episodes became TEN SEASONS!

It’s a far cry from those grand success stories, but relistening to the first few releases of The Ripple Effect Podcast made me realize there has been significant improvement. It may feel like you’ve achieved nothing today or tomorrow, but look back to this day a few years later, and you’ll see something to be proud of.

I started upping my game. I ditched Garage Band, my crappy equipment, and began investing in better gear. The amount of behind-the-scenes effort to ensure Ripplers get the most value out of each post is no joke, and of course, it comes with a cost.

If you believe that we spread positive ripples and do good for the world, you can help this channel in simple ways.

  • Life challenges us in different ways. While some seem to sail smoothly through life in a breeze, others are met by one tumultuous storm after another. Hang tight because today’s special guest for The Ripple Effect Podcast will take us on an emotional cruise through life and all its sides — the good and the ugly. After listening to her story, our special guest will restore your faith in humanity.

    So, who’s our awe-inspiring guest?

Pam Rankel shares a deeply personal and inspiring story of overcoming tragedy, loss, and the journey to healing. Having faced unimaginable hardships, she recounts the pivotal moments of her life that turned pain into strength, transforming a story of sorrow into one of resilience.

Pam Rankel has experienced things that no one in this world deserves to. She survived s**ual abuse from a doctor in an unsupervised appointment and physical abuse from a person who’s supposed to love and protect her — her husband. After freeing herself from this abusive relationship, she tried to dip her toe into the dating pool. Instead of finding the love she deserves, she experiences the anxiety-inducing feeling of being pursued by a dangerous stalker. Pam also has to endure the grief that comes with losing a son in labor and another son, Micheal, in an accident.

“I’ve always wished I could have saved my own children, but I couldn’t. Maybe, though, I could save someone else’s,” Pam said.

Pam Rankel saved a young man’s life by donating her healthy kidney. The donee, Cole Derry, is the same age as her surviving son, Ryan.

Pam’s inspiring story was featured on several media platforms, such as the Vancouver Sun and Global News, and is in the talks for a film adaptation.

After all Pam has been through, she found her way back to joy, compassion, humor, and gratitude. She is now on a quest to help others with similar experiences overcome abuse, grief, addiction, and trauma through “A Course in Miracles” life coaching.

Pam is a real-life superhero, and I’m so thankful to have met her. She has inspired me in so many ways, and I strongly believe that the world deserves to hear her story.
