Our first ever live recorded episode, courtesy of the Cheerful Earful comedy podcast festival!
In this very special episode, we each take a piece of media that scared us as children and unleash it on a live audience.
This was SUCH a fun day, and we are so incredibly grateful to everyone who came out to see us! This was something of an experiment, as we have never done anything like this before, and you all made the experience so fun, warm, and welcoming. We hope to perform again as soon as we are allowed to.
Huge HUGE thank you also to Cheerful Earful who made the whole thing possible (as well as being the nicest people in the biz).
Do excuse the change in sound quality two thirds of the way though - it has nothing to do with CE's sound engineering and everything to do with Elsie being a bad editor.
Hopefully see you again very soon, and have a wonderful Halloween!

Stupid dawg!
We've decided to continue our spooky October episodes with a childhood trauma machine from across the pond. That's right, it's Cartoon Network time again! And because Meg and Elsie were brought up as Freeview purists, we have graciously allowed Laura to lead this episode.
We won't lie to you - Courage the Cowardly Dog was straight up terrifying and we need to talk about it. If you have any repressed memories around watching daytime TV while off school sick, prepare to relive them.
Digressions include; Laura's dad's love of the Ocean's trilogy, our individual tolerance for body-horror, and the run from the light switch to the stairs when you're the last off to bed. Scary stuff!
Enjoy!

"Leave the stones? You never will."
Described as "inappropriately" scary, this 1976 drama is considered to be a landmark in quality children's drama. And to be honest, it is.
British film was in the middle of a psychedelic folk-horror experiment, and it somehow managed to trickle down to ITV children's broadcasting. This is the result; a generation of traumatised adults!
We'll be discussing atonal caterwauling, received pronunciation, the burning sexual chemistry between Veronica Strong and Gareth Thomas, and why people seem to hate Morris dancing.
Happy day!

VICTOR! Are you still alive???
We were going to cover The Fluffy Bunny Show with Sweet Little Granny this week, but unfortunately that time slot was needed urgently.
The Secret Show is something that we are INCREDIBLY fond of, and have been for a very long time. Not only is it one of the funniest shows we have covered, but it also features some of our most beloved characters (looking at you, Ray and Ray's boys

The quick brown dog jumped over the lazy dog...
As we are busy planning our UPCOMING LIVE SHOW(!!!) this week we are releasing an episode that has been buried deep on Elsie's hard drive for seven months.
Jasmine is back to chat everything Bootleg! Some say it's a mini series, others say it's a TV movie. It really depends on the channel you saw it on way back in 2002.
This one is so niche that were it not for YouTube dot com, we might have brushed it off as a collective false memory.
Themes include politics, authoritarian governments, state surveillance, and illicit black market substances. But for kids!
Huge thanks to Jasmine for lending us her voice and opinions - we value them so very highly.
Regular programming will continue in two weeks.
Love ya!

BOOM BOOM!!!
We're back with another episode voted for by YOU the listener.
Basil Brush is a very funny show that is unbearable to watch. It has aged well. It has aged poorly. We love it. We hate it. We are very capable of nuance, as it turns out.
Watch out for terrible puns, casual sexism, flagrant disregard for age-appropriate programming, Y2K clothing, and good old 2000s body-shaming.
You asked for this one.

We have decided to release a cheeky bonus episode from our Patreon because we were feeling frivolous (and some of you even contributed to it)!
We talk Meg’s anger, Elsie's fear of death, Laura's favourite Easter assembly song, and answer a few of your questions.
Thank you so much for everyone's contributions for this episode - as always, it allowed us to go on many pointless tangents.

Na Na Nee Na Naaaa!!!
It's everyone's favourite toxic parenting team and their devil spawn. This week we're talking about Horrid Henry!
It's a surprisingly big topic... we cover the touchy subjects of book adaptation, bad parenting, bad teachers, and even shipping. Yes, we said shipping.
Enjoy!

Hi, I'm Laura! Hi, I'm Meg! Hi, I'm Elsie! And together, we're talking about HI 5 BABYYYYYY!!!
Not to be weird about it but we enjoyed this one so much that we carried on watching it even after we finished making the episode.
It took physical restraint to keep your humble editor from adding more clips - so we definitely recommend seeking the show out for yourself!
This is a long(er) episode due to us loving the subject material to pieces - we make no apologies.
Tangents include Meg's Asda meats, varying tooth-brushing techniques, and an impromptu hymn.
Much of the information in this episode was learned from a cast member interview on Carey Stinson's Purple Road podcast which is available on YouTube - give it a listen :)
As always, thank you and enjoy the show!

On a dark dark hill there was a dark dark town and in the dark dark town there was a etc etc...
It's a xylophone-heavy episode this week as we're talking all things Funnybones!
It's about time we discussed Allan and Janet Ahlberg's gorgeous works of children's fiction, and so we experienced some big nostalgic feelings this week.
Other topics include the terrible plumbing in our flat, fleshy appendages, and the mechanics of sound.
Good idea!
CW: As this is a show about skeletons, we will be discussing death, decay, funerals, and bodies.

Hola! Soy the Thots from Thots TV!
We're back for season 4 and we're kicking off with an episode voted for by YOU.
Of all the shows within the monkey-sidekick genre, this is our least favourite of all time, but we don't care because we love and respect your choices.
Tangents include: educational CD-ROMs of the early 2000s, the world's biggest media franchises, and the dangers of LEAD.
We're delighted to be back for the new series - thank you for your patience!!!

While we're on our break (thank you for your patience!) here's a little bit of bonus content from our Patreon.
In this one, we're (Meg and Elsie) talking about the behind the scenes of Thots TV.
Expect some personal stories about lockdown blues, some indulgent complaining about having to work to pay bills, and some advice on making a podcast!
Although, in this clip we mainly talk about something we like to call Girl Stocks...
Looking forward to regular programming again but until then, have a wonderful Summer!

"My tax deductions are CRYING!"
We're rounding off season three with an episode voted for by YOU the listeners! You wanted Rugrats, and we delivered.
We have found that it's a lot more difficult to create fun """content""" about a show that's genuinely perfect, but we've certainly given it a go. As the last episode before our Summer break, it has been a delight to watch and discuss - thank you for voting correctly!!!
We also hear a little bit from Laura about her MS diagnosis, and she has tried to answer some of your questions.
We continue to be overwhelmed by your constant support of the podcast - thank you so much! Over the next few weeks, we'll be around on social media as always to chat all things kids' TV, you can't get rid of us that easily...
Thank you so much for listening to series three, and have a beautiful Summer!

HelloOOO!
You've waited a long time for us to cover the topic of the nation's comedy sweethearts, double act royalty, kings of the catchphrase etc. and FINALLY the day has come for us to talk about the Chuckle Brothers!
Not only are we discussing the LONG-running CBBC sitcom, but also the various 1980s curiosities the Brothers provided us with over their wild and varied career.
No one has watched more ChuckeVision than we have over the last week, and we have done our very best to channel our bafflement and bemusement into something resembling thoughtful cultural critique. We also have comments about their hair.
To me to you, indeed.

A little while ago, Metro produced an article with the headline ‘I created Tots TV, Teletubbies and Rosie and Jim – I fear they’re being twisted’. This is our response to a very insightful interview with Anne Wood by Josie Copson.
We also mused on the subject of nostalgia and differences between various eras of children's TV.
Though this is a bonus episode, we wanted to share our initial thoughts on the article to the main feed. This is because we are very grateful for those of you who alerted us to it, and to the evident generosity and graciousness Anne Wood has shown towards those of us making jokes off the back of her brilliant work on social media.

"Look - I've found something!"
They walk like the Slitheen, look like psychedelic hippos, and live on a planet from 60s Star Trek; they're the FIMBLES!
In this episode, we discuss the Fimbles, its more successful spin-off series, and even a short-lived radio show featuring the series' most annying character.
Digressions include reasons Meg got in trouble at school; bones we've broken; Laura's medical record; and Elsie's personal stash of glitter.
Are you sitting comfortably? Then we'll begin...

The Fat Controller laughed, "You are wrong." Choo choo motherfuckers, it's Thomas and Friends.
Some of you absolutely adore this show and probably already know everything we're about to tell you. Some of you are rightly terrified of these death-masks on wheels and the existential questions they present.
Us? Both.
Join us as we dive deep into the authoritarian nightmare that is the Island of Sodor. We also discuss Meg's mum's habit of impulse-buying rodents.

WE MADE IT!
Nineteen and a half hours each of viewing; one BBC iplayer breakdown; two late-night Redbulls; and lots of eyeliner later, and we have FINALLY come to the end of the Young Dracula Saga.
Join us once more to bask in the glory of the Count's hair, Ingrid's face, and Vlad's inability to fulfill his role as child dictator of the vampire world.
And obviously - spoilers!
