A husband and father and grandfather, Steven Garber is also a neighbor and friend. A native of the great valleys of Colorado and California, with his wife Meg they have lived in the Washington DC area for over 30 years. He is a teacher to many people in many places, serving as the Senior Fellow for Vocation and the Common Good for the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust. Kyle Spears is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and Certified Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Nebraska. He works in private practice at the Attachment and Trauma Center of Nebraska utilizing EMDR in working with Complex Trauma, PTSD, and DID. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, he works to help heal marriages and complex family issues. He also specializes in helping men with trauma, masculinity, and depression. Last year he started a YouTube channel and a podcast and has a website where people can go to get resources for issues that relate to trauma and theology. Kyle is currently working on his first book that will provide a basic understanding of trauma to equip both ministers and members. He is also working on a book with Michael Burns called the âThe Big Lieâ that will address the aspect of racial and intergenerational trauma.

As a child, Christian and his family spend some time in a refugee camp before being welcomed as an asylum-seeker in Munich, Germany. This single event of being displaced and unwanted in their own country change the trajectory of Christian's life. He has lived in Russia, Mozambique, and eventually to the United States, in many political and socially unstable moments in those countries. He shares his personal experience as a refugee, and how it has informed his apprenticeship to the way of Jesus in today's world.

Steve Staten is a trainer, speaker and organizational health consultant. He has worked with single and multisite churches of 250 to 6,000 members in Hawaii, Alaska, California, Florida, the Midwest, Canada and the UK, as well as a global nonprofit and a nonprofit in Asia. Steveâs early professional life began at Fermilab in 1979 and spans nine years in engineering, where he worked with high energy, sound, radar and computer design. In 1988, Steve and his wife went into ministry full-time, where he acquired over twenty-five years of experience in church leadership, overseeing staff education, pastoring and managing conflict. He has a Masterâs degree in Theology (1997) and a Masterâs degree in Conflict Management (2013). And Steve is certified with a Safety / Risk Management method and philosophy called Just Culture. He's a big proponent of collaboration and recently published, The Art of Breakthrough: Collaborating on Audacious Undertakings. Steve is a project coordinator for the Disciples Center for Education, a nonprofit initiative that helps fund the Teleios Journal and PhD scholarships for qualifying individuals.

Dr. John OakesâŠ. John holds BS in Chemistry from the University of Connecticut, dual PhD in chemistry and physics from the University of Colorado. John has served as a minister and teacher in the church speaking in 80 countries and at 60 universities around the world, and as well as a professor in several universities, including UCSD, Mesa College, and Marian College over the past nearly 40 years until retiring from his professorship in 2018 and taking on a full-time ministry position pastoring the Bakersfield Church of Christ in California. David Bruce is originally from Oklahoma but was wondering in Moscow, Russia when he was met and became a Christ-follower in 1991. A few years later he met his wife, Cece in Stockholm and have been married 26 years. 2 children After addressing his own personal addiction to pornography and embracing a recovery lifestyle within his Christian walk, David decided to go back to grad school and become a therapist. David has been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2008 but also has worked as an Addiction Medicine counselor in clinical setting for over 15 years. David currently works part-time as an LMFT and with his wife serves in the ministry in Los Angeles. David specializes in chemical and behavioral addictions, depression, anxiety and couples' therapy.
