The Spoonie Struggle is about the raw, honest look at living life with chronic illnesses and chronic pain conditions. Spoonies of all types are welcome to join us, but we will have a heavier focus on the lesser common, lesser understood, and difficult to diagnose conditions, such as Ehlers Danlos, Marfan’s, Ankylosing spondylitis, Sjogren’s syndrome, lupus, multiple sclerosis, sickle cell anemia, and endometriosis. In this show, we will discuss our own experiences of each aspect of life with our chronic health conditions, speak with other spoonies about their experiences, discuss coping, advocating, and self-care related to chronic illness, provide helpful and well-vetted resources, and interview professionals who are experts in the field to gain further insight into our conditions and learn about ways to educate family, friends, and doctors, advocate for ourselves, cope with our conditions, and hopefully, thrive! This is a great way to join a like-minded community and to meet people who are in the same boat as you. And, to realize that you are not alone. This is a nonjudgmental space to help each other through our chronic illness journey, to be an actual self again, and to make thriving in life an actual possibility.

Have you heard about The Other Blue Pill? No, not the one that makes folks - you know (grow). The other one that has revolutionised how people have sex. It’s been a crucial part of ending HIV and is helping people take control of their health too – PrEP.
PrEP stands for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, it prevents HIV by taking a pill before and after sex. It’s available on the NHS in the UK for free now, but to make this happen was a historic battle that many people don’t know.
Meanwhile, around the world, and even in the UK - access to PrEP is far from universal but what is holding us back? What is stopping marginalised people from getting the healthcare they need and deserve? And crucially, what lessons can we all learn from the fight to get it for free on the NHS?
There is a whole movement of people taking this other blue pill and taking ownership of their health. Let’s understand the history to work out: where do we go in the future?
The Other Blue Pill is the phenomenal story of the battle for access to HIV prevention drugs in the UK, told in six parts by the health professionals, activists, and researchers who fought for it alongside stories from the PrEP generation.
Hosted by Phil Samba, it is a QueerAF production for The Love Tank.

In a country obsessed with gossip, the great and the good fear one thing more than any other - scandal.
British scandals change the course of history. They bring down governments, overthrow the rich and cause the mighty to fall. Some are about sex, others about money. In the end, they’re all about power.
But often at the heart of a scandal, there are ordinary human stories. Stories of those caught up in the swirl of outrage.
Who was really to blame for what happened? Why did they do it? And when all is said and done, did anything really change?
From the creators of Business Wars, American Scandal and Ghost Story, comes British Scandal. Each week, hosts Alice Levine and Matt Forde delve into the murkier side of the British elite, from Phone Hacking to Profumo to the short-lived premiership of Liz Truss. Because sometimes the truth doesn’t set everyone free…
