  • Let's discuss our upcoming year of podcasts! Our second year's theme is Restore and Replenish – we walk the talk. This podcast focuses on cultivating Joy and Resilience for ourselves and others. While it's common to make resolutions for the New Year, sometimes the key is to take a step back and simplify. As we enter the winter season in the Northern Hemisphere, we often ignore the natural cycle of rest and restoration. It's important to take the time to reflect on the past year's successes and struggles, and to declutter and refocus for the next productive cycle.

Specifically, a short-term gap in amoxicillin, but a long-term gap in the development of new antibiotics to combat resistant bacteria. • Intuitive awareness – the little voice inside that has a quiet presence. Takes practice and meditation, sitting quietly, prayer or Deep listening. Movement based meditation also works. Another way is to listen to the Earth around you.

People talk to the Divine all the time – ties back to our own innate divinity. We are part of the divine and the divine is part of us.

"In times of confusion and ambiguity, it’s helpful to remember that there is a numinous power that emerges from a coherent, divine source, and it knows which way to go. We can call this the “power from below,” because it is elemental, and quite physical. It is that organizing intelligence that animates all life. It is the pattern-maker that stitches together our dreams, manifests in synchronicity, and arises in our longing or desire in the body. And if we can learn to follow and embody that power, it will lead the way out of the patriarchy.

This “power from below” is Sophia, an ancient Greek word which loosely translates into wisdom. You can find it in the root of the word philosophy, which is the “love of wisdom,” but perhaps more accurately described as Knowing. Sophia is the inner knowing that gets clearer and stronger as we dismantle the old power structures, but she is also the outer knowing that appears in the waking dream, in synchronicity and symbolic events in our lives."

  • Menopause is a natural cycle in a woman’s life happening for most of us between the ages of 40 – 55 and marks the end of our child-bearing years. This occurs during one of our most involved and committed phases of life when many of us have careers, families, community involvement, and other passions we need and want to focus on. Most of us will have at least some shifts in physical, emotional, and possibly spiritual baselines and norms we have relied on for many years.

The lead-up to menopause is sometimes surprising to many of us – we do not have training or stories to rely on and inform us in our peri-menopausal and menopausal journey. We offer some ideas, stories and suggestions in this podcast. The best thing you can do is be kind to yourself as you move through this change. You are not alone and many new programs, apps and resources are available to help us track and understand our own menopause journey. Ultimately menopause may offer surprising freedom and changes in focus worth celebrating. Keep in mind, when women gather together and support each other, amazing things occur.

  • Menopause is a natural part of the female life cycle which usually happens over a period of time between 40 and 55 years of age. This marks the end of a woman's ability to conceive. In general, most women will have around 500 menstrual cycles in their lifetime, unless they are/have been pregnant, had surgery or have had a sickness that has impacted their menstrual cycles. Menopause is when a woman hasn't had a period for an entire year. The time just before menopause can be quite unexpected, as women don't have many experiences to help them navigate it. This podcast provides some helpful advice, stories, and ideas to make the process a little less daunting.

  • Since our last podcast on Spring Tonics and Rituals, I used the ritual broom clearing in my home since the last podcast and it makes a difference! Chat about that. Open windows, etc. If you wish, you may end the purification with a short statement, such as: “Bright and strong flows the energy through my home. This room is purified.”

Reminder of other ways to clear your space - Smudge and Spritzers too! Betty your favorites – at night Frankincense – Day is Sage or Sweet Grass spritzer. One sentence on what a spritzer is…..

Nettle tea – tonic herb for Spring allergies – slightly astringent properties, deeply nourishing filled with many beneficial minerals and green goodness.

Seasonal changes – spring cleaning/clearing – gifting and the give away – instead of throwing things away – consider the giveaway/ Native traditions.

Meaningful gifts – why is symbolism is important to us? Snake and the symbolism of change and transformation. Symbolism is important to both of us – mine is my personal altar – Betty and the Burden Basket – Betty and her clients – personal ritual for Betty and she incorporates it into her healing practice – and her clients can participate in this ritual.

When I teach I build an healing altar which becomes a focal point filled with symbolic objects for the subject of the class . for example I recently taught a class on Aphrodite, goddess of love and fertility who governs the waters of life – on her altar I have a lovely large Conch shell which was my grandmothers; I have a Scallop shell, and a lovely crystal cluster, a beautiful vase in the Grecian style with a woman in a flowing gown and an anointing oil.
