For the last episode of series 1, I'm finally chatting with a musician - and a brilliant one at that - Brad Deschamps (aka anthène) as we discuss musicianship, the creative process, inspiration and even touch on how robots will never be able make music quite like a flawed, human.

This week, I'm chatting with James Lloyd-Wyatt of Ginger Studios, Northcote about everything to do with the "aberration" that is sound in its recorded form - from working in recording studios and techniques to the physics of sound and acoustics, and stories of his work with Wu Tang and how reverb is like a little ear cuddle.

This week features the wonderful Jeralyn Glass of Crystal Cadence - a leader in the field of Sound Healing using Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls and an internationally acclaimed singer, inspirational speaker, musician and teacher blending a classical career with meditation and transformational high-vibration sound. We dive deep into the power of Crystal singing Bowls and using them (and sound as a path through tragedy); the authentic voice, and she treats us to a short Alchemy Singing bowl meditation.

This week, I'm flying solo. Chatting with you about all things 'sound healing' - what it is, how it works and why it makes us feel so good. I'll give you a brief history of (ancient) Himalayan and (not so ancient) Crystal singing bowls (which have a pretty hilarious origin story), and treat you to a short, bowl-based mini sound bath at the end of the episode - best listened to on headphones or proper speakers.

Happy NAIDOC Week! 🖤💛❤️ On this week's episode, we chat with Lionel Lauch from Living Culture. Lionel is a Gunditjmara Kirrae Wurrung-Bundjalung man, living on the Mornington Peninsula, where he runs guided meditation and bush tucker walks and Yidaki healings. Lionel generously shares some incredibly valuable, Indigenous wisdom - from plant medicine and bush tucker to Dreamtime stories, the sounds of Country and the power of the Yidaki as a sound healing tool. Lionel finishes the interview by sharing a short, Yidaki meditation.

Welcome to the first episode of "What is Sound?" - this week we go back to the (not so) basics of something we are surrounded by every moment of every day, even when we sleep. Sound! - what is it? And how does it work? I'll also treat you to a little listening exercise that will (hopefully) begin to open your ears, and hearts, to the magic of deep listening.
