In this heartfelt episode of "Your Journey to Joy," I sit down with my daughter, Anna, to discuss her incredible journey of recovery from a nine-year battle with an eating disorder, OCD, and other mental health challenges. This conversation is particularly special as Anna was last on the podcast three years ago, shortly after returning from a treatment stay.
Anna opens up about her struggles, including a time when she didn't believe she would survive, let alone thrive. She shares the pivotal moments and key factors that contributed to her recovery, such as undergoing transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and meeting her supportive boyfriend. As the host of the wildly successful podcast show "Not Today Cancer" and the author of "Not Today Cancer: A non-typical guide for the girl who wants to thrive, not just survive," I'm Jen Delvaux – an Integrative Health Practitioner, a proud mother of two amazing adult children and a wife to my incredible husband, Darren, who was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2009.
Through my podcast, I inspire others to live their best life, but my true mission is to empower women to navigate cancer, take control of their diagnosis, and thrive through and after it. As a cancer thriver, just like my husband Darren – yes, it's shocking, but it is possible – I'm here to say that I know firsthand what it takes to overcome this disease. In fact, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021.
Together, Darren and I speak candidly about our struggles and share how we've been able to stay positive and move forward. I firmly believe that I'm on this earth to be a beacon of hope for other women, helping them release their fears and Reset & Rise after a cancer diagnosis.

Dr. Krista Crotty is the founder and owner of Brain-Based Therapy NW. Brain-Based Therapy NW specializes in the treatment of Anorexia (Atypical, Restricting, Binge/Purge) using Temperament Based Treatment with Supports (TBT-S). The TBT-S approach to treatment emphasizes treating from the inside out, starting with addressing the biology before moving on to managing symptoms. The goal of this treatment is not only to alleviate symptoms but also to provide a deeper understanding of the illness and actions for both Clients and Supports to address its components.
Dr. Crotty received her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Fuller School of Professional Psychology and her doctorate in clinical psychology, emphasizing family and pediatrics. She has worked with those struggling with eating disorders since 2009 and has been training with Dr. Laura Hill in TBT-S since 2017. Outside of work, Krista enjoys spending time with her family, skiing with her sons, traveling, reading, and finding joy in the little things.
