Imagine the joy of qualifying for the Ironman Championship in Kona.
Now imagine that scenario if you can toe the line with your daughter. Ciara Stockland decided one year to attempt to get a slot in Kona which happened to be the same time her daughter, Bella, got into triathlon racing. As an accomplished swimmer, Bella quickly picked up the sport and made immediate gains to quality herself, in the same year!
A great story about a tight bond between mother and daughter as well as the heart of an athlete to set goals and then go for it.On the Web:

Mathias had everything under control, or so he thought, before he caused a multi-car accident. That moment exposed a harsh reality that he was a highly functioning alcoholic.
Now sober, Mathias took to triathlons as part of his recovery to find purpose and to get himself healthy. We talk with him about his journey from the vodka bottle to the water bottle, the difficult task of facing the truth, as well as his newly published book in which he shares the intimate pages of his journal.

NO EXCUSES.
Lining up to compete in a 70.3 Ironman triathlon is hard enough. Now imagine that with the added stress of not having most of your intestines.
Brandon was dealt a blow during his college days of severe ulcerative colitis that resulted in an ileostomy and a health struggle he has been dealing with for 20 years and over 26 surgeries.
Trying to live a normal, healthy life with complications of an ostomy bag, Brandon was at the point where he just didn't want to live. Having made it through that dark time, he started running. That reignited his natural competitive tendencies to compete where it landed him at the start line of Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga this year. A harrowing journey that ends in a story not to be missed.
