The one and only Crispin Glover is on the podcast!
Most people know Crispin from his role as George McFly in the first Back to the Future movie, as well as his memorable roles in films like River's Edge, Willard, Wild at Heart, and even the Charlie's Angels films. But He's also an accomplished filmmaker in his own right, directing experimental films like What is it? and "It is fine! Crispin is generally viewed as either quirky or outright crazy, and its a persona that's followed him since the mid-80's. We get into that public perception of him and why it exists, his films and books, the slide show and Q+A that hell be bringing to Montreal for 2 dates at the end of this month, his taxing experience on Back to the Future, the role of propaganda in Hollywood films and much much more. We also get into his upcoming projects, including his role in the American Gods TV series, based off the Neil Gaiman Book, as well as his part in the adaptation of Shirley Jacksons gothic classic, We Have Always Lived in the Castle. Crispin is bringing his live show to Montreal bar le ritz on January 27 and 28, which each include a separate movie screening and slide show, along with this audience Q+A and book signing. Harley Flanagan from the Cro-Mags is on the podcast!
Harley has just released Hard-Core: Life of My Own, his long-awaited autobiography that covers his tumultuous life and times in a vivid and often frightening way.
From his time as a pre-pubescent drummer in the early punk band The Stimulators, to the chaos and violence of living in the Lower East Side of New York in the lawless 70's and 80's, and the endless beefs and struggles during his time in the mighty Cro-Mags, Harley holds nothing back here, including his infamous arrest following a stabing at a Cro-Mags show in 2012.
i spoke with Harley from his home in NYC to discuss why this was the right time to tell his story, his concerns about writing such a no-holds-barred memoir, his thoughts on re-uniting the original Cro-Mags lineup, his time running wild with Montreal skinheads in the 80's and much more.

We’ve got another double-header episode this time around, with comedians Brad Williams and Ralphie May!
Both Brad and Ralphie are part of The Nasty Show at Montreal’s Just for Laughs, which also features Bobby Slayton, Paula Bel, Thomas Dale, with Quebec’s own Mike Ward on hosting duties.
The Nasty Show runs from July 20 – 30 at Metropolis. We have a pair of tickets to give away for the 8:30 show on July 25 – enter here if you haven't already.
First up, I speak to Brad Williams about refusing to be a spokesperson for the dwarf community, dealing with hecklers, and texting Neil Patrick Harris. Brad’s latest stand-up special, Daddy Issues, is out now on Showtime.
Next, Ralphie May discusses the turbulent state of stand up comedy, why TMZ won’t leave him alone, and his favourite HGTV shows. His latest special, Unruly, is up now on Netflix.
As this is posted, Quebec's Human Rights Tribunal just ordered Mike Ward to pay $35,000 to Jérémy Gabriel, the former child singer who was the butt of one of Mike Ward’s jokes. Since they’re all on the Nasty Show together, both Brad and Ralphie weigh in on their thoughts about the controversy, and what it might mean for comedians in the US. You can also read our interview with Ward about taking over the reigns of The Nasty Show here.

Swiss Army Man writers/directors Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert are on the podcast!
We discuss the inspirations behind this surreal film, working with Daniel Radcliffe and Paul Dano on the characters, and how they built a meaningful film out of a fart joke.
Swiss Army Man revolves around Paul Dano as Hank, a man trapped on a deserted island who is in the midst of hanging himself. He then discovers Manny, a gassy dead body lying on the shore, played by Daniel Radcliffe. Hank uses Manny’s farts to ride him to safety, which launches them on a surreal adventure, while posing some big questions about friendship, loneliness, love, and yes, farts.
Swiss Army Man is in theatres now.

Director Jeremy Saulnier is on the podcast!
His latest film, Green Room, revolves around a young punk band called The Ain’t Rights, who play playing the wrong bar on tour one night, and end up in a bloody standoff with a group on Nazi skinheads, led by none other than Patrick Stewart.
It’s an incredibly tense and violent film, and one of the most visceral theatrical experiences I’ve had in a very long time. I watch a lot of intense genre movies, but there were definitely sequences in Green Room I could not believe I was seeing in a mainstream thriller.
We discuss his background in punk and hardcore, what attracted Patrick Stewart to the role, his relationship to violence in his films, and much more.
Green Room is in theatres now, and hits Blu-ray and DVD on July 12.
